Wok 'N' Go Chinese in County Durham

The food was horrible it was dry and the chips were soooooooo dry never go here that is a warning the food took sooo long the staf were shouting at me in my face

Best Chinese we’ve had in a long time. Delivered to Bonners Lodge campsite with no hassle. Thoroughly recommend it!! The salt & chilli ribs are amazing!!

Excellent food. We had 10 people over for a takeaway and the food was fresh and hot on delivery. Excellent value for money.

As you can see from title of review we ordered the same as we did last week, just a few things to go with meal we had cooked, if today’s food had been last weeks would never have ordered again, when did Chinese takeaway stop cooking with salt???? I know lots of people frown upon it but without salt food loses its flavor. Really disappointed

Ordered king prawn curry when got home was only prawns onions and curry sauce was worse curry ever had bland and not nice. Egg fried rice was tasteless not egg it DONT GO AVOID

Ordered a munchy box don’t bother ring golden flower 100% better so disappointed such a let down 😬 ☹️

Had one of our nicest Chinese meals from here. Ordered chicken chow mein with chips and gravy. Chow mein was really tasty. Chips n gravy absolutely the best. Previous have had Hong Kong sweet n sour chicken and satay chicken and both lovely. Delivery was very quick and efficient

I called in for food last night on route home. I was met at the counter by a very pleasant but some what seemed very nervous assistant. I was informed it would be 30 minutes before the food would be ready.The staff were very busy which is the norm. After a few minutes of sitting and watching the chef and the other assistants doing their roles I noticed 'Amy' the owner being very rude, abrupt and a having a massive attitude towards the staff. On that basis I will not be going back to Wok n Go, She needs to treat her staff with respect. Without the staff the business wouldn't exist.

So many good reviews, had to try it. Curry was awful, far too sweet, too thin, far too many floating garlic granules, no peas. Chow mein, too much soy sauce, mushrooms, no veg not nice meat. I am a native Geordie, moved Co Durham area 3 years ago. Still trying to find really good Chinese & Indian food, especially takaways. "New Life" Chinese Takeaway, Whitley Bay could teach these guys a thing or two. So much better Asian grub Tyneside. Co. Durham Chinese takeaways pleeeeese ease of on the sugar ! Yuk. My best Chinese curry sauce Wearside up to now has been "Chance" Take away, Leadgate but next pleeeeeese no carrots or mushroom !Peas & crunchy onions is just perfect.

First time I've used this takeaway shop and it won't be the last. The large banquet box is amazing and so was the soft noodles I ordered as a side order. I opted to pick it up as I knew it would be a wait for delivery. I wasn't disappointed at all.

We ordered our food at 7 and estimated delivery was at 7:50. At 8:05 we asked where are food was and they told us it would be 10 minutes. After 30 minutes of waiting we still did not have food. We rang again and they said it wasn't near ready so we had to cancel our order.

When this place first opened I ordered a chicken fried rice. It was terrible. It was dry as sticks and had hardly any veg in the rice. I was hoping that things would have improved somewhat since so I gave it another go. It wasn’t much better but is passable. It certainly wouldn’t be my first choice in the area.

I go here once a week and the staff are incredible, Amy runs the best Chinese I've ever tried! Chad is always so cheerful and friendly, I'm a regular and normally get the same order and it's always ready in great time for me to pick up. I couldn't imagine eating anywhere else I've tried a lot of the dishes and all of them have been top marks from me!

Started using wok n go because our usual take away servings were becoming very megeure the servings here are great and easily make a second meal. Food tastes great too and if you chose you can physically watch your food being prepared.

Use this takeaway often and it's always nice. The food is nice and reasonably priced, delivery is quick and I generally order through the just eat app on my phone.

I have eaten from here a lot of times as it is the nearest to where I live.I usually get house special curry or house special chow mein sometimes with some soup or chicken wings.all are nice however it is a little more pricey here then other Chinese takeaways and what I do not like is they use small prawns instead of kings prawns in there curry and chow mein.

Usando Wok n ir durante unos cuantos años. Tienen el típico menú chino, sin embargo, si quieres una mezcla diferente para su cena o comida cocinada o algunos en un cierto estilo, simplemente hacerles saber, nada es un problema. Gustos comida encantadora, nunca he tenido una comida pobre en todas las veces que he utilizado.

After enjoying several superb takeaway meals over a period of time from Wok n Go, I must heap well deserved praise on them . I recommend the hot sauce sea spice dishes , they are great . Delivery time is usually minimal , and the prices are reasonable .

Saturday evening not the best time to call in. Preference seems to be given to phone in orders. Food very good though.

Probably the best of the worst as far as Chinese takeaway's go in Consett. Apart from the restaurants most of the takeaways are lacking pretty heavily so it's a question of which one is the least bad - and this probably ticks that box.Food is generally okay, not too salty or full of veg rather than meat. Fairly reasonable prices and delivery/collection times so can't complain too much. If you want my advice though I'd say go to one of the sit-in restaurants as you'll get far better food.

Spam or other unknown tinned meat in a 'curry' is never a good sign...... The curry was tasteless and the meats in the dish were less than desirable. Over all a 'gloopy' mess that was a total disappointment.(mini shrimps were both hard and rubbery.....yuk!)

We ordered a variety of starters as we were unsure what to order. Personally I thought it was all ok. We had never tried this takeaway before but having been very dissapointed by other takeaways the area we thought we would try a new one. There seemed to be alack of sauce on the dishes? ? Chips were ok although seemed to have been re-fried? Some of the dishes had a rather odd smell? Maybe we will revisit? Maybe we will trysomewhere new. Bbq spareribs were very erm......spare! One thing I did notice was that food wasn't particularly hot! As previously mentioned I found the food pleasant but this review was written on behalf of my family

We don't do take aways as always disappointed but we are very impressed buy meal we ordered chow mein n roast duck dishes loads of it n very tasty we should of put in microwave for a minute to heat up but we have enough to share tomorrow very impressed will order again n tell family n friends about it. Whenever my friends and I get together, Chinese is all we can agree on and we usually order from Wok n Go. Normally, the food is pretty decent and the service is ok, but our last visit to them left us thinking we might go elsewhere for our bi-weekly take out/movie nights. Whenever a young guy answers Wok n Go's phone, we know that it's going to be a bit of an ordeal. The manager (or owner maybe?) sometimes takes the phone from him and apologises for his service. The last time we called, he answered. We placed our order warily and when we asked when the food would be ready for pick up, all he would give us was "awhile."We drove out to get our food about 20 minutes later, only to get back and discover half of my meal and half of my friend's meal was missing. We called back and the young guy didn't seem to be able to comprehend why we were calling. The woman took over the call , apologised for him, and told us to come back to get our food. We were charged for the missing food (which I'm pretty sure we'd already paid for) and weren't given any sort of compensation for the fact we had to drive all the way back out. It was all just a bit off-putting. Plus the food was a lot drier than usual which had my friends grumbling. Normally though, I love the chicken fried rice and the samosas. I'll give this place one more go but most of our group wants to try somewhere else after our last experience so I may not get a chance to!

Friendly staff, and tasty food. You can even ask for half portion of most main meals in the menu. I adore the lettuce parcels, they're so tasty and healthy.

Ordered a crispy noodle kung po with king prawns, the sauce was very strange and slimy , not impressed, prawns were very rubbery and tasteless and the vegetables didn't tasted fresh!

I have been using this chinese for a long time now and I've never been disappointed. It's a great idea that they now do half portion sizes for those who wouldn't be able to eat a full portion.

This is the closet Chinese takeaway to where I live so was hopeful that it would become a gold mine. However when we got the food home it was spicy hot. Everything tasted the same with the same spices and incredibly salty. Don't get me wrong, we all know what Chinese food is like but this we to the point you couldn't eat it. I will not be returning. It does always seem to be busy though.

Firstly, I'm very surprised by the negative comments on here - myself and everyone I know who have dined here have always had a proper tasty meal and generally nothing but positive things to say about the scran.The place itself is set out unlike other takeaways in Consett - spacious waiting area, you can actually see your meals being prepared while you wait, the place is immaculately clean and for people who care about hygiene- Wok'n'Go has a 5 star rating.Also, the Vermicelli is the bomb, yo!

I have been using this Chinese for about a year and have never had a bad meal. Lovely food. Reasonably priced. Friendly staff. A wide menu range. I would definitely recommend.

I'm horrified at these negative comments. Been going here for years always been top notch food all cooked in front of you, tastes fresh and shop is very clean, very good customer service. I've tried other Chinese takeaways around the area and this one tops all.

I really can't understand the bad reviews for this place. Whenever I order from here,everything is fantastic! From the service to the food.If you have any special requests staff will always do their best to oblige.Food always fresh n tasty!!

Had a vegetable chow mein it was far too salty and not pleasant at all and the chips must have been re- heated or re-fried quite a few times they were absolutely terrible . It really beggers belief that these local take aways which surely must rely on local trade to keep their businesses afloat would serve such poor meals !! Obviously customers vote with their feet and don't go back !!

Wierd tasting food, the meat has an awful slimy coating to it. Saw the man behind the counter trimming his nose hairs! Wont ever go back!sad that the chinese up the street has closed.

Worst food around it was really baf portions were crap and it all looked like trays of sick it was discusting on the plus side did complain and get a refund still dosnt make the food any better

Might have been nice if it turned up. Placed an order for £25 worth of food they forgot the chips the rice the sweet and sour sauce. Don't waste your time.

We use this place all the time it's fantastic great food at a great price you can see them cooking everything very fresh

Myself and my boyfriend visited Wok 'N' Go last week and I can honestly say it was some of the best food I have ever had!I would definitely recommend!!!
