Usually have really good service from golden flower. However £30 worth of food was stale tonight … very disappointed. Won’t be returning

Absolutly foul not even average im not one to complain im fair but wings burnt to a crisp cold nee chicken took an hour and 20 mins chips were nicest bit never again ....

Only Chinese in area that offers “small” or “regular” portion sizes for dishes which is a brilliant option to have. Always piping hot and delicious. Highly recommended

Never been for a while so thought we would try it, we thought wrong, lacked taste, chow mean was the strangest we ever had, chicken peices were far too big, a big let down.

DIsgusting. Ordered takeaway on a Saturday night as a treat. Picked it up after a 4 mile drive home. Went to put out "crispy noodles ".Surface looked fine as chicken and prawn was on top. However once I attempted to put noodles out discovred the noodles were not cooked and all stuck together in a big clump. Dry raw noodles ???? Rang to complain after a 5 min discussion with the boss ,a lady took the phone and tried to tell me they fried the noodles and they were meant to be crispy ! I tried to say they were not cooked and she said if i brought them back she would cook another dish. Not good enough. We refused to go back and left it on a promise for a free dish next time. We had ordered a curry, rice and chips as well so just decided to share this. However this too was disgusting not fresh, tasteless and bland. Chips disgusting too no taste and not fresh..What a waste of £20. What has gone wrong ? Used to be nice with fresh ingredients however i will never use Golden Flower again worst chinese ever tasted and most of it went in the bin. Raging and massively disappointed at the quality.

Never been here for a few years and can honsetly say i think ive been missing out,absolutely delicious sweet and sour dish and had curry lately which was good as well,great chinese.

My partner collected a take away of Rice, chips and gravy, 5 minutes later when she arrived home the food was cold and needed to be microwaved. Obviously this was not cooked to order. Disgusting

Very bland curry you can tell it was the packet curry mix very dissatisfied as pay top price for packet curry. I have used this place since it opened in te 70s, but will never go back after this.

Bought a chinease munchie box from them Tasted fine Both me and parter were ill with bad stomach I was lucky enough to trow mine back up It's obviously not good if you can't digest Lifting won't be back

Normally I go to Hong Kong diner but it is shut from 13th-27th so had to go here. Prices were about 3-4 quid more expensive. Portion of salt and pepper chips and a sweet and sour chicken was 12 quid. Chips were smaller than at Hong Kong diner and didn’t taste as good, sweet and sour tasted funny. It was like jelly. Overall didn’t enjoy it. So getting a pizza instead.

We’ve just had a fantastic meal delivered, king prawn, beef in black bean, noodles, rice, sticky king prawns & salt & pepper chicken, it’s great being able to order smaller/half portions, restaurant quality food very impressed & very full ! 🥰😍

High quality food at a reasonable price with good customer service. They check all the boxes and have beaten back 2 other establishments to become our Chinese takeaway of choice. They also do half sizes, so it allows for a more appropriate amount of food to be ordered, while allowing for more variety in your order and being more affordable at the same time.... Win win win.

Had a lovely takeaway from here so decided to try it again tonight disappointing as chow mien had no flavour and very greasy crispy beef in Cantonese sauce tasted as if it was just crispy batter no filling maybe a different chef tonight I wonder put off trying it again

Ordered two chicken Currys, chips, fried rice and portion of mushrooms, to pick up just after opening, all of the food was look warm, there was lots of chicken but was bland as if boiled, the curry sauce was watery and like paxo curry sauce, the mushrooms which I was looking forward to were tasteless, son left three quarters I left half, really disappointed as was looking forward too, a wasted £18, struggled to give two stars as I want to support local business in the village

The menu came through the door the other week and after reading it we noticed they had every meal with a veggie option, although it's 2021 that is quite a rare thing so we kept it to give it a try and thank the lord we did. We've just had the "mini" veggie munchie box and it was stunning, it was all fresh and the taste was delightful. It's more than satisfied 2 of us and we will definitely be buying it again.

We ordered this to be delivered to a remote farmhouse and they said it might take an hour. It arrived after 30 minutes and was delicious, warm and tasty. Okay it wasn't cheap but it was worth every penny.

Traveled about 8mile round trip not impressed by the shop or staff returned home only to find we had been given the wrong order had to phone and return said order to retrieve our own order which turned out to be vertuly uneateble

Very hit and miss for a few years. Got 50/50 chance of the sauces having no flavour. Satay sauce like water this time no flavour, curry sauce very salty.

I order a chow mein every week,Got my order wrong so next time I asked specifically for the dry traditional one,Rang again this evening and the order is wrong again.Traditional is beautiful where as what I have received is a sloppy chow mein with precooked chicken on top barely warm.Lost a good customer, Sorry!

I live local to this establishment and have not used it for sometime so dived in as it was late and cooking was not an option. The meal I ordered was KUNG POH CHICHEN WITH KING PRAWN along with a seaweed starter which was a meal I have had many times from numerous takeaway restaurants and has always delivered a flavour extravaganza on the old taste buds, but NOT this time ! ! ! !Have plated up what I thought was going to be a taste sensation quickly turned into a vomit nightmare after four or five mouthfuls into the main meal, my body rejected the full lot in one foul swoop straight down the porcelain bowl ! Returning to the offending article and giving it a good old sniff with the old hooter it was obvious from the aroma that either the chicken or prawns were off and not fit for consumption ! There was an obvious problem with this meal and it should have been picked up by the chef and not packed and dispatched to a customer. Not one to sit back the restaurant was contacted and the staff were informed in no uncertain manner that the meal was not fit for consumption and had catastrophic consequences resulting in a chicken prawn vomit comet ! The restaurant did collect the meal and refunded my hard earned pennies, hopefully they will carry out a postmortem on the offending article before the experience is repeated or worse. Needless to say I would not recommend this establishment to anyone even those with a cast iron stomach and no sense of smell.

Lovely food and choice worth the 12 mile drive to collect

Had a king prawn with ginger & spring onion & my wife had roast duck with plum sauce it was absolutely delicious compliments to the chef

This has to be the worst Chinese food I have ever tasted. Chicken was overcooked and dry - spring rolls over-fried and inedible. Food was overpriced for what we got - I won’t be using them in the future.

we ordered a mini munchie box which is advertised to have alot of variety. Basically it was a box of rice and chips with 3 small pieces of chicken, 2 mini chicken balls and 4 spring rolls. you are basically paying £11 for £3 worth of food. our box was filled with rice and chips so they didnt have to add any actual meat. massively dissapointed.

Bought a small munch box and chicken and sweetcorn soup. The soup had loads of pepper in I hate pepper never had chicken and sweetcorn soup with pepper in from any takeaway on top of that it was full of lumps. The munch box was mainly greasy rice and soggy chips 2 chicken wings and a couple pieces of chicken waste of money

Big plusDecided on a KATSU CURRY RICE CHIPS got home opened up the box to find thin strips of chicken covered in burnt bread crumbs or batter dry and smelling burnt this was a dry portion very dry then came a carton of what i would call MAKEWAY CURRYreal shame lovely shop lovely staff but to allow that out of the kitchen is shockingThey have offered me ten pounds off next meal as a way of an appology Hoping my next post is a very positive one

This is the Chinese take away that we use most, we have selected various items from the menu over a number of years and have been satisfied most of the time with what we have received, we have used the delivery service as well which improves the service as one of the reasons I have marked them down is the parking at the takeaway site, it is atrocious a main road on a hill at a junction, if the parking was sorted we would go more often and I would up it a star to 4

Just waited 1 and 1/2 hours for cold half cooked rice and curry you could slice with a knife! Not the Golden Flower it used to be. Won’t be back.

Ordered a Take Away meal. Ready to collect in fifteen minutes. Absolutely superb. Really pleased to have decided to try a Take Away rather than cook a meal ourselves this evening!

The Worst size portion of chow mien I have ever had in my life greasy and overcooked food I would not Recommend this place to anybody

Absolutely shocking service, ordered salt and pepper chicken with my order and didnt arrive with the full order, proceeded to ring and ask for it to be delivered and the item was delivered WRONG making me wait 1 hour and 30 minutes for them to then go on to say that I would need to be charged for them to bring it again, I highly recommend NOT using this takeaway if u plan on getting the CORRECT food with with NO complications, thank you

Awful! Me, my wife and my two kids ordered a Chinese from here and when we got it and went to eat it, it tasted disgusting. It was full of litre prawns, the sort of prawns you get from a frozen bag from a cheap frozen food shop. The taste was disgusting and it tasted as though it was undercooked. Don’t be fooled by the posh and expensive imagine when you walk inside the shop, it may look funky and trendy when you walk in but the food is awful! And to top of all off, it was served off three 15-16 year olds, hardly even out of school hardly (cheapest of workers) and the service was rude and abrupt. I will not be going here again and even our kids didn’t like it and they said that we needed to go back to our normal regular Chinese. Shame it is a Tuesday and it was closed which is what made us go here tonight. Never ever again! I would not recommend this place to anyone. Oh and it’s severely overpriced!

Last time we had a takeaway from here it was so bad said we wouldn't go back but we have just tried them again and their nearly back to how it used to be . Food hot and tasty ,staff friendly keep it up !!!

This Chinese used to be the best around !however I’m massively disappointed with how it’s going now. It’s lost its flavour and the chicken is consistently dry with an odd texture. I don’t think I wanted to admit to myself that it’s not nice anymore and I’ve kept trying it in hope, but it’s just simply awful. There last chance has been spent I’m afraid after 35 years of using them I’m extremely sad it’s come to this.

Very tasty Chinese takeaway. Recommand the szechuan chicken and egg fried rice! Also the crispy seaweed is really nice - not too greasy.

Was told 15mins, took closer to 45mins for collection. Cantonese sweet and sour sauce was tasteless, pork (not sure if there was any) was so dry and batter was thick and solid. Duck in pineapple, were tasteless and uncooked. All in all a disgusting meal.

Delivery driver said he had already been when i specifically said RING WHEN GET TO GATES. Tuck over an hour to eventually get a phone call when was told 30-45m. Was also over charged asked for plane chow mein noodles and get charged for chicken chow mein. No chicken was in my noodles. Was charged £5.90 for just noodles and green beans. On the hole tho, the food is nice and ordered plenty of time before and will continue to use.

The rice was hard very dark in colour and had an awful smell to it, the curry (if you can call it a curry) was the consistency of left over custard with 7 strings of onion and the chicken (not real chicken) was a disgrace will never order from here again very dissapointed and its not the first time! The prawn crackers were ok.
