New Peking House in County Durham

Ordered food at 6.45pm arrived at 8.30pm it was luke warm at best, curry was watery worst one iv had from here put me right off from ordering again

2.17hrs since ordering and counting... still waiting for delivery... disgraceful! Ringing at 6pm and it's now 8.20pm and food hasn't arrived. No one answering phone.

Only take cash, served me noodles I had to open and cook myself and the vegetables are abysmal and they forgot half my order, this place is genuinely horrendous in every aspect don't go here if you are feeding humans

Ate here and felt god in the food. I don't even know how. I am atheist.

Left my wife on hold and never picked up again. Went in to a dirty looking shop and Not good when you can hear the chef in the back coughing his guts up. Walked out, never again

Phoned for a delivery and was told about an hour. Phoned 1hour 20 minutes later and was told it would be a further 20 minutes. Do not use these as they are unreliable. Cancelled order

Food is pretty good. Would recommend the soft noodles. You can wait a while for delivery but the food seem fresh and tasty.

Great Chinese takeaway. Food is absolutely spot on. My only criticism is that there isn't a website to order from.

Got a takeaway meal for my wife and I and went to eat it at my daughters. After a few mouthfuls, we threw it in the bin snd I popped to my daughters local takeaway and ordered the same dish. This one got finished completely. Very bland and tasteless.

The portion sizes are just about the only good thing about the food I ordered here. Its not terrible, but it really is quantity not quality here.

Polite and friendly staff. We only like a selection of items but not others so now stick to the same few trusted items each time. Stir fry vegetables, esp onions often raw which spoils it for me. Otherwise, often satisfied with our food. Like the other review, home delivery is often a long wait (between 1 hr 15min to 1 hr 30min) which is off-putting so I tend to collect. However, I think phoning further ahead with an expected delivery time may help.

This is the second time in a row that the home delivery service has been very poor. It’s obvious they priorities those telephone orders collected from the shop than delivered. They give you a time which in our case was 1 hour to placate you then the delivery is often late (1.5 hours) and rub salt into the wounds the food was not hot. Sorry Peking House we dot mind waiting as long as we have a realistic time, if you can’t then don’t offer a home delivery service.

Average, only tired as my local was closed. Deffo 50/50 in ordering again. As it didn't really have much taste

Good food prepared quickly and always an enjoyable meal. Dishes are reasonably priced and options for delivery and collection. Wide selection of Chinese food and meal options. Take away has stayed open with covid measures in place: perspex guards, limited amount in take away.

Easy to oder stuff they do order delivery and you can pick stuff up it's quicker to pick it up.

Hors d'oeuvres were missing the ribs, rest of the food was okay.

Food was was lovely but sat waiting for thirty minutes in the shop for my food which had been ordered 35 minutes earlier by phone, several people called for collections while I was there and received their orders and one person ever ordered while I was there and received his order before me!! Not happy

Beautiful Chinese takeaway, I’m very picky with Chinese takeaways as I usually feel sickly afterwards with some but this one is👌🏽. The munchie box is my favourite; comes with a bit of everything, excellent variety for a great price and plenty for two people (we usually order a spare bag of chips though). Everything is spot on and tastes delicious although only takes cash which is the one down side, apart from that very recommended!🥘🍚🍜.

Normally I love the food here but tonight we got a takeaway order our order was schwzeaun house special with fried rice , red Thai curry house special and Kung bo house special all were nice except the Kung bo to my disappointment the very little meat that was in it was in a sickly sweet batter which may I add does NOT state on the menu that it comes in nor does it say it has cashew nuts in but I know that anyway as I’ve ordered it many times in restaurants etc and it’s never come in batter unless it states which I would definitely not order I was so looking forward to it and it really spoilt the meal for me would not be ordering that dish again the menu does not say what is in each dish and really they should put this info on the menu so that customers are aware of what they are getting I usually love it here but that turned my stomach so disappointed ☹️ the others enjoyed theirs though so wasn’t all bad

We have tried so many takeaways over the last few years, we find this one to be of the very best quality, delivery service is brilliant and have had no problems. We have had several different dishes and each one is as good as the other.

The food is excellent, we do not go any where else, we have tried lots of take aways, this is our best one by miles, 100% recommended

WOULD HIGHLY Recommend a to avoid at all costs. Customer service is absolutely appalling. Had someone shout down the phone to my father due to him complaining our order was 2 HRS late compared to the 45 minutes we were originally told. To then try and put the blame onto my mother. Food arrived warm but not hot. Only good thing about this experience was the delivery driver who couldn’t be more apologetic for the time once we had explained what had happened. Absolutely appalling will not be ordering again. Sort your customer service skills out.

Very good nice food and good friendly staff

Not eaten here for a long while and won’t be back sadly. I have had some nice dishes in the past but a simple shredded beef was very poor and the spare ribs were also poor. My partner said well at least they can’t get prawn crackers wrong....oh how wrong can you be? Stale and odd tasting

Ordered a meal to Newton Hall. Told it would be 40 mins. Two hours later it hadn't arrived and each time we rang we were told "20 mins....20 mins". Never order for delivery, you won't get it.

A good value local take away. The Thai green curry is a favourite of mine. The young girl staff member st the front isn't that bothered but food is good.

It's a Chinese takeaway. Fairly quick, not too expensive, pretty tasty. You get free crackers and sometimes spring rolls as well. They don't deliver and only take cash (but the Sainsbury's a few shops up has an ATM).

Liked the salt and pepper spare ribs. Chicken fried rice could have done with a little more salt. Good portion size though.

Firstly, the take away is spotlessley clean this was my first visit, decided to have the House special curry with fried rice....The sauce was far too runny and ended up everywhere... The Ingredients were nice but the sauce needs some serious attention. Wouldnt buy this dish again because of it.

Excellent food tonight. Beef fillet with black pepper sauce was fabulous. Definitely be back....butterfly king prawns 💜

It is our closest Chinese takeaway but its lovely. Very freindly staff and food is hot and tasty. My wife goes for the chicken green peppers and black bean sauce and i have a chilli beef with cantonese sauce. Delivery is quick too.

Had a Chinese from here last month. Wasn't bad to be honest. Food was hot, tasty and reasonable in price.

The menu at the Peking house is extensive. The various meals I have had have been of a good quality and are reasonably priced.

Food is disgusting asked for pork foo young got Chicken foo young no. No colour to foo foo young tasted awful. Fried rice tasted of fat. The Chicken with Satay sauce, the chicken was disgusting. I wasted £12.60

Ordered 10 mins before opening time and it arrived about 20 mins later. Impeccable service. The food is quality and we normally order here if we fancy a Chinese. I definitely propose this to anyone

Just found this Chinese a few months ago.and had a few dishes and have been pleasantly surprised curry is nice different same for the gravy! spring rolls are defo worth a go.

Después de unos 5 minutos nos dimos cuenta de que no estaba teniendo lugar y cocinar yo era el único cliente. Dieron la señora volver usando el timbre del mostrador y cuestionaron el esperar 20 minutos - me explicó que estaban teniendo su té y cocinará cuando terminen. Conseguí el dinero y a la izquierda.. servicio lamentable

We first started eating from here over a year ago and now always use this takeaway when we fancy a Chinese at home. The food is always really nice, portions are generous, and it is almost always delivered in a reasonable time. We love this place!

Char sue pork in house special was mainly gristle. Not much in the way of main, ie non-rice, ingredients. Not good value. Curry sauce was the worst we've ever had, being sweet and hardly curry-like at all. Seems to change management from time to time, not always for the better. We're looking for somewhere better having used this place on and off for some time.
