The Golden Bird in Hartlepool

Absolutely delicious food, it is done perfect. I don't know any other Chinese. What Cooks like this Chinese? I highly recommend this Chinese.

Chips frozen not homemade curry sauce watery and sweet went straight into the bin spring rolls the size of a chip no tast what so ever gravy very watery no fast at all don't no what the chow main is like yet as my husband has not yet had is tea yet fingers crossed it's ok only orderd from these because our main Chinese Burbank street was closed should of waited till Tuesday 😶👎used this takeaway many moons ago used to be one of the best in hartlepool but not any more would not recommend👎👎

Had chicken chow mein chips curry and boiled rice absolutely gorgeous will definitely be going back

Absolutely fantastic meal chicken fried rice brilliant egg food yung tasty all the delivery hot when it was delivered. And delivery driver really nice guy. Recommended it to everyone as I didn't realise they were doing deliveries.

Golden bird Chinese food is by far the best in Hartlepool a little pricey but taste is amazing. Best all around

Tired looking takeaway, only had one meal, salt & pepper chicken with chips, and was nice and fresh. Can't speak English very well, but so far alright but was just the one meal.

Makes an excellent chowmein at a reasonable price. Good sized portions as well.

That was the worst take away ive had salt & pepper ribs so full of water it turned my chips & curry into mush ???

Good quick friendly service, dropped in at short notice and had our food within 15 minutes. House special chow mein and chilli chicken with boiled rice, could not fault it.

Absolutely diabolical never again. We ordered food at 530 it arrived at 8pm. To be honest by the time it came I didn't want it as I need medication with my meals and having them at 8pm affected my night time medication. The chips were also very dry my husband stated. Very poor service

Very fast delivery. Great food, hot food. Just wish the rice came in a larger size. Otherwise no complaints A*

I placed my order at 6pm and was told it would be delivered at 8pm but it didn't arrive phone permanently engaged it finally arrived at 10pm I only accepted it because my son really wanted it. Big mistake it was cold and containers less than half full never again

I do appreciate with the current times that it will be a longer wait than usal but after 3 and a half hours of waiting still didn't turn up. When ordered asked how long it would be, as if i knew it would be this long i wouldn't have bothered, said 8 oclock so said fair enough and ordered. Rang at half 9 to be told will be a little longer, then rang at 10 after 3 and a half hours was told it hasn't even been made to be sent out. Told not to bother and would make something. I wouldn't have minded if it was 3 hours but the fact it hadn't been cooked is ridiculous. Then trying to through to them is another story, ringing for ages and then goes off as no one picked up, or says user busy. Maybe as a suggestion take phone numbers of customers and if the orders are going to be later than stated, common sense would be to ring to inform customers of this. One very angry pregnant hungry lady

Food is very good but service is diabolical. Waited over four hours for delivery the first time, the second time I ordered, it didn't turn up at all. Total waste of my time!

Ordered food delivery at 12.30 lunch time for 7pm and it’s now 8pm no food and no one answering phones

The food is amazing which is 5star but when on the phone they tell you to wait for two mins and rudely put the phone down instead of saying they are busy or can’t serve you

Was a regular customer would never use again put order in at 3 o'clock for 9 o'clock phones at 930 out with delivery phone again at 10.30 sorry got it mixed up with another order but il knock 1 pound delivery off and cook it now. No thanks il cook!! Never again

Not used in years as moved away, but still good to see and taste good food from here, maybe not quite as good as remember but still one of the best

Since moving house near to this chinese I decided to revisit it. I found that it vastly improved . All the dishes we tried were first class. It is slightly dearer than most other chinese but very good.

The only thing that is terrible is the chips. sometimes they are nice but others they have more fat in them than the chip pan. I often make my own but I guess that defeats the point in getting a takeaway.. I miss the previous owners:-(

Have used this takeaway for donkeys years but tonight 2.5 hrs later food still not delivered. Told twice it had already left with the driver! Don’t lie to loyal customers!!!!

Prices are high for what you get. We ordered deep fried crispy beef, the sauce tasted good but the beef wasn’t crispy at all, could hardly cut it. Chips were cold on arrival.

The food is good when collected although I have to say that the prices have steadily increased over the last couple of years so that it's now more expensive than my local Indian and there's no comparison of the flavour between Chinese and Indian. Do I think it's value for money, not really, but it's OK. The delivery service is DIRE. I live less than 1/4 of a mile from there and it took them an hour and a quarter and they charged me £1.20, a scandal. The delivery driver was seen to be eating customer's chips, so I'll never get a delivery again.

Not impressed Curry's mainly all onions no vegis in vegi. Curry sauce very spicy. First time been wouldn't go again.

Use to be one of the best chinese takeaways in the town but now it's just very poor. The curry is extremely watery and lacks flavour. Chips are always hard and over cooked. All the dishes are just really bland. Don't waste your money, its not worth it

Ordered 5 mains, 5 sides and crispy aromatic duck. Had a little family get together. The duck had a full bone in it and shards of bone mixed in with meat and duck not very crispy. The mains were not the best. Chicken curry was fine, noodle dishes ok, sweet n sour chicken hong kong style not the best I’ve had and fried rice dish very bland. Chips massively over cooked and hard. All food tasted more like previous days, just warmed up and cooked with 15 minutes, so can’t have been freshly cooked

Love this takeaway, food is of the same quality everytime, and delivered hot. My favourite for the past 10 years

Excellent menu - Speciality is their "Crispy Noodles" Add them to your Chow Mien. Great Chinese food .

Excellent would return. Got theee types of meal and all were very nice. Some of the dishes come in reuseable containers so an added bonus..

Quick and easy Chinese takeaway. Good quality food which was tasty. I am a fan of being provided free prawn crackers when spending over £10 and didn't get them which was a shame.

we always go here and we've never once been disappointed. Everything is cooked perfectly and always tasty. Very consistent! We usually order special currys, egg foo young, rice, chips and various starters.

sent for a Chinese take away for 2 people .both meals arrived barely warm and were small portions compared to other takeaways in Hartlepool. not impressed.

used to be brilliant, portions have halved in size, havnt been lately maybe i'll try again over the Christmas months

El mejor con mucha diferencia para llevar en el sur de la ciudad, posiblemente en Hartlepool. Excelente salsa curry y su carne en salsa con arroz frito es literalmente "liberar" carne de boca. Las setas puede ser a veces un poco pero fresco. pero, en general, totalmente genial.

Todo fresco y caliente. preparados. Buenos precios. no puedo recomendar. Nada parecía estar pre preparados o de un paquete. Estaba perfectamente preparada y lista rápidamente.

Los propietarios están de regreso en original, chino, salsa curry el mejor intentarlo, no te decepcionará.

been going here for years and i always say that if they don't deliver the food is good enoughfor people to go to collect, why i say depends on which chef,it was taken over about two years ago but i think it was kept within the family,cos sometimes i still see the women that was there for years.i normally get chow mien and sometimes its gorgeous and sometimes is bland,the curry sauce as above sometimes gorgeous sometimes bland i think i have a portion of gravy? i will keep going here because its good and hoping to hit the better chef so if you read this please take note,p.s other dishes are good to.
