Very tasty and clean delicious food

We have been here alot and usually its nice but we went last night and it was awful the curry was runny and had not taste the chicken in the satay was slimy and that had no taste it only had chicken and loads of onion nothing else the noodles were greasy and the gravy tasted of burnt not going again

Very disappointed with our order tonight. Chicken curry was made up of mostly big chucks of onion and the sauce was extremely thick and gloopy. The chicken satay was dried out. Best bit of the meal was the prawn crackers!

You cannot pay by card. I don't recommend it.

Special fried rice not nice ..not much meats or prawn ..too much greasy

Food was great, but ordered @ about 9.30 ro be informed that they had run out of chow mein, is that even possible 😮

We ordered 2 meals both the same full of large chunks of onions I didn't order a onion curry

Ordered chicken with cashew nuts, boiled rice and portion of chips. What I received was chicken with onions, water chestnuts, and frozen chips. No sign of any cashew nuts at all. £9.50. very poor result. No more visits. The Golden River has dried up.

This shop has changed new owner and new chef! And redecorated the store! Now have fast delivery and delicious food! The people is friendly here!

Lovely sweat&sour chicken! Ordered for the family, it was a big share and with a cheap price! Also, it’s been delivered really fast! 5 stars recommendation!

Found the food hot and plentiful, curry sauce was very salty, and my wife had a poorly tummy the day after, possibly not linked but we have change takeaway now.

Absolutely a joke ordered a takeaway for delivery went to a total different address tried to make out they would re-delivery a order I will never order from here again the last people was amazing they have lost our customer!! Not happy!!!

Ordered online and paid with PayPal no food came when I called them she said they had no record of my order. I told them I could go round and show them my receipt from PayPal but she it wasn't proof as they hadn't received my payment, basically said I was a liar as other people had ordered and complained it hadn't arrived im really annoyed I won't be going again

The person who answerd the phone didn't understand what I was saying I had to say it 3 times I didn't understand him as he could not speak fluent English so I just ended the phone call as he had wasted my time

Ordered a simple chicken balls and chips with sweet and sour sauce. Barely any chicken. The chips are soggy and taste like they’ve been cooked in oil used 25 times. The sauce is like water with no flavour..

Aplloling service and communication as they were crackers saying that the crackers were Gippon in the dog rame soup that was made from dogs

Ive used the Golden River for a few years now and I thought it's always been good but lately it's been even better, what ever you have done to the chips is lovely. Keep it up 👍👍

Great food cooked fresh very speedy service and great value for money . have tried many times different meals and can't fault any of them . Very tasty

Best Chinese food in hartlepool

The only takeaway i've been to where a customer sneezed and the attendant said "bless you". Very friendly staff and easy pop in if you get back after all the restaurant kitchens have closed.

Friendly fast service. Food always delicious and reasonably priced. My favourite is the the pepper fillet steak with chips and rice 🤩

I ordered some chinese from them for my family party. I cannot believe that everything was absolutely gorgeous, especially the salt and pepper box and the house special fried rice. It was my fist time to order this munch box(salt and pepper box), great taste and good value for the money. Definitely coming back. Yes!

Been using this take away now for 12 years and it is so delicious, never had one complaint yet, favourite dish is chilli and garlic prawns and salt and chilli chips, tried different Chinese take a ways in town but this one is by far superior.

Very nice friendly staff also do home deliverys

First time iv ordered from here. Vegi curry fried rice and kung pow chicken and fried rice. Vegi curry was nice but kung pow was more like sweet and sour and unfortunately it was quite difficult to eat as it was rather vinegar. Unfortunately not to my taste

Always good quality food and really tasty. The noodles are lovely. Have to drive to pick it up but I've never had a bad takeaway from here.

Very disappointed, ordered for my dauhgter's 19th last night, 8/9/17. Duck in lemon sauce was far too sweet & much too fatty....far too much pineapple? sweet & sour chicken nuggets....sooo much yucky batter....my children love sweet but this was way over the top...will not be ordering again....at £25.30 I expect better...

Probably the worst Chinese takeaway I've ever tasted. Satay was a glutinous blob and the curry was that sickly the dog wouldn't even go near it. Sorry just really horrible

fabulous eating place, service with a smile and excellent food,nothing is too much trouble for the staff, you can even take home your leftovers.

One of the best Chinese take ways in Hartlepool/Seaton .. don't deliver far but worth the trip.. chips are lush a sell..

Took Over a hour to come . Then food was cold not happy customer .

Absolute garbage waited 2 hours for food to be told the delivery never got through to the kitchen, end up having to eat out of date kwik saves own beans and sausage.

Ordered from here for years and the food is always good quality and never had any issues. Today the delivery came and the bag was absolutely stinking of cigarette smoke which could be smelt as soon add it came in the house. Disgusting!

sorry to do this, the appetizers were great. but the main dish - the curry - which i ordered twice (to give you a second chance) was sooo bad. It had no flavor and the meat was awful. sorry but i'm gonna find another Chinese to order from.
