Chow Kee in Hartlepool

Very disappointed to place an order and to have it accepted but .... after coming back to see why my order was late, I found out that it had been cancelled! No explanation! I placed an early order but was very disappointed. I won't be going back again!

Decent food at a decent price. Quick service and polite staff.

we ordered our dinner at 7pm with estimated delivery time of 7:45pm but it didn't arrive until 8:45pm - an hour late. they did not even attempt to ring us to let us know of the delay. we rang them to ask where our dinner was and the man on the phone pretended that he did not understand what we were saying. we explained that we were waiting for an hour for the food and he said "whats the problem? we're very busy" when the food eventually arrived the food was cold and needed to reheated in the microwave. the food is very nice but the customer service is abysmal and the waiting time is unacceptable. will not be returning

Best takeaway in hartlepool by far

Got a all in one tray meal with a can of pop. Lovely would recommend to anyone looking for a good meal and price was only 6.40 enjoyed it.

Ordered food from 60 Murray street Hartlepool yesterday evening, I feel I must write a review as the food was so bad it all ended up in the bin, firstly beef curry and fried rice - the beef was rubbery and chewy the egg fried rice was dryed out and had a strange taste about it, next order was sweet and sour chicken balls, nothing about balls they where oblong drenched in oil and over fried, the chips had seen better days refried and still dry not good at all, very disappointing the whole food, it’s a shame that Chinese food takeaway all comes in huge tins all they do is reheat, nothing authentic whatsoever, the only thing Chinese takeaways cook fresh is eggs ie omelettes or on a mixed grill, our food was so bad the dog sniffed and walked away so the lot went to the bin, never will I order from here or any other Chinese takeaway until they update their methods on cooking and is fresh, this left a bitter taste, So come on Chinese people start cooking fresh , instead of buying in tinned products ..

Nicest chippy food I’ve tasted by far! Salt and pepper chips and delicious and curry sauce is so good, would definitely recommend

THe curry and the ribs were lush I don’t know now why people were saying the ribs we’re hard and curry was bad. I overall love doing the food and I will most definitely visit again again.

Lovely chinese, shop wasnt busy when i went so was good. Covid free area as screens protected you from staff

My grandson bought to half portions of egg fried rice, chips and gravy tonight. One was really lovely, but the other one had an extremely long black hair which was very off putting. I phoned to let them know, to be offered another meal, no thanks, won't be going no more from now on.

I’ve been going to Chow Kee for years, and by years I mean about 40!, and it was always known as Mucky Mary’s 😋 but standards seem to have reduced alarmingly with the new owners. The food is not nearly as good (although to be fair the portions are still large) We had our family around last night, Sunday so ordered various meals for 5 people for delivery. Despite a promised 45 mins it took over 1 hour; OK, not too far out, but apart from the chicken satay not tasting remotely of peanuts, one main course was not even delivered. We called them immediately and they said the missing dish would be sent out “immediately”.... another hour later and after everyone else had finished their meal there was a knock on the door. Despite having already paid for the missing meal the delivery driver was told he could take it back as I had no intention of eating on my own and given the message he can tell Owners we won’t be using them again. An end of an era. Anybody know a Chinese that does a good curry?

I used Chow Kee years ago and was always pleased with the quality of food, it was always a very busy takeaway. But untill recently the food went from excellent to terrible and they even lost their star rating. I called in testerday as I noticed new people behind the counter, they are very pleasant and have had a takeaway in London. I ordered a beef curry and fried rice just to give it a try, WOW! THE FOOD WAS DELICIOUS, this chef can cook, I now have my old takeaway back but even better, Thank you so much, absolutely delicious, try it, you won't regret it.

Kun po was nice enough but I really had to search for the king prawns.

This has a friendly atmosphere and are quick with getting ur orders done it is close to were I live so didn't need to get delivered they do deliver around the town up till half ten

First class chinese food from well established chinese family.william is a top class chef who prides himself on his trade.my family even take it home to blackpool its that good!

Allergic to sea food so asked for no prawns on chow got it delivered late chips were uncooked and main was full of prawns disappointed and fuming upside was the delivery driver was very polite. NOT ORDERING AGAIN!

Cracking takeaway...meals are great and been using the place for years...don't let the name Mucky Mary's put you off

Have used Chow Kee for years and certainly think it is one of the best Chinese takeaways in town. I can only recommend it but not happy that its closed for a month at the moment and looking forward to them re-opening.

No es sucia, sólo la maña local para un popular china para llevar. Tuve una comida china desde aquí ya que nuestros locales - El Golden Bird - estaba cerrado. El Chow KEE arroz frito es genial, megalópolis raciones y sabroso. Solo que la salsa curry es demasiado dulce para mi paladar. si te gusta de esa forma, bueno, pero a mí no. La carne fue un poco duro y ácidos grasos y los langostinos eran un poco pequeñas. Prefiero el Golden aves

Decidimos tomar una comida después de un ajetreado día pedimos pollo y hongos curry con ninguna cebollas, arroz frito con huevo, fideos y brotes de soja y patatas fritas. fue una pérdida de dinero. Cuando llegamos a casa con comida sólo tuvimos pollo al curry...
