Absolutely terrible, ordered off just eat completely messed my order up, so I rang and a young girl answered being clever saying they can’t rectify it as they don’t have a driver that was a just east driver, so what happens to the orders not through just eat I ask? She then said she would give me a meal free if I came and picked it up, completely abysmal service from them, stay well clear

Great food, quality cooking you can tell these guys know they're craft. We had a takeaway but would happily eat in the next time we visit.

special cantenese style - extremely oily batter, sauce just didn't taste good. salt and pepper chicken, again oily to the extreme, fried rice and chips both cold

Came really quickly and piping hot, tastes really good only thing I think is missing is msg, it’s more sweet than umami.

That was one of the worst Chinese I have ever had. The spare ribs were very dry and no meat on them . The chicken rolls were burnt as was the chow mein. Terrible

Perfect came quickly the Oriental Special Spicy Salt and Pepper Chicken is really nice and big portion the dumplings are good as well but are small you get about 6

food was cold, duck was just fat and skin. chicken in black bean was coated in some kind if fat and smelt strange. prawn crackers were burnt and hard. won't be ordering again

Terrible bad quality salad looks like it’s been in the fridge a week and owner shouting down at the phone at me when I tried to complain😡

Never received ordered 9:35pm sat till 12 didn’t turn up, no knock on door or anything tried to push through just eat app after 1hr 30mins but didn’t make a difference. Not sure what happened but wasted two hours and thirty minutes waiting to go to bed, Ended up with no food and will now have to go for refund through just eat.

I ordered a takeaway on a Saturday night and I was really worried when it arrived 25 minutes after I ordered it. I thought it was going to be awful coming that quickly, but this was by far the best Chinese takeaway I've ever had in my life. I loved that I could choose how spicy my curry was going to be and all the food was beautiful. It was also amazing value for money. I'll definitely order from here again

Decided to get a takeaway last night as a lot of the restaurants in saltburn didn’t allow dogs in after 5 or they were fully booked due to it being bank holiday Monday. Went online to order from Eastern Paradise, said it wouldn’t take orders so as it was a stone throw from our accommodation I decided to walk over. From the outside in looked shut (the ‘open’ sign was off) so I tried the door and it surprisingly opened. There was one elderly gentleman stood at the end of the restaurant (I assume he was the owned) and zero customers. I asked if they were taking orders and he said they were, another lady popped her head around the corner and said she would be 5 mins. As I perused the menu the chap was literally shouting at the kitchen staff constantly which was slightly awkward, the lady in the kitchens response was ‘shut up you b@st@*d I am sick of you’. Not exactly the most customer friendly! Regards to the food if you’re a fan of peppers then this was ideal as the two mains we had contained at least 3 large chopped peppers - chicken in black bean and a pork Szechuan dish. Little meat just full of peppers. Kids had the duck which was on the bone. Disappointing all round apart from the entertainment to begin with.

Delicious food, delivered hot and on time

Placed a big order but needn't have worried, every item was superbly prepared, packed, piping hot and absolutely delicious and delivered on time.

the nuggets were awful they were 100% asdas own nuggets and for the price i paid for them i expected better considering i could off saved myself some money abd made them at home, proper rip off !!

Lovely, flavourful food! I had one problem where I was missing the prawn crackers, no big deal but the lovely woman delivered them within minutes after. Would definitely recommend

paprika on limp strips of potatoe isn't salt n pepper chips. or not what I am used to experiencing elsewhere. the pancake fritter. one had nothing inside just a ball of batter the other had something along with what I think was strawberry jam. have they let Tony back in the kitchens?

The tastiest chinese food I’ve had in a very long time. Had the spring rolls, prawn toast, spare ribs, special chow mein, prawn egg foo yung, sweet and sour chicken, beef in oyster sauce and boiled rice. Massive portions, tasted so fresh. Great service, highly recommended

Missing item. Ordered chicken fried rice, got egg fried rice. Collection order, what are you meant to do when you get home? Go back out?! Order wasn’t massive either. Be careful.

Delivery time was moved twice at request of restaurant. Food arrived, chips were clearly re-heated and tasted of old oil. Spring rolls weren't the best either. Ribs and chicken wings were quite tasty. Curry sauce was OK.

What can I say came to saltburn in motor Home for the first time today , hubby went walking the dog round the takeaways for menus , decided on Chinese omg the bbq ribs are to die for , beef chow me in n chips gorgeous would come here again just to visit this Chinese , phoned order in 20 mins later picked it up ,

By far the worst Chinese we’ve ever had, and definitely the most expensive! Salt and pepper chips tasted of nothing, prawn crackers looked and tasted about 6 months old, the chicken balls looked raw and were absolutely swimming in oil/grease. Will not ever be returning. £30 to literally just eat chips. Disgusting. Phoned up to complain to have absolutely no interest from the shop. Waste of time and money

My family and I had a glorious experience at the Eastern Paradise restaurant. It is paradise by name, and, frankly, paradise by nature. The look of the place could perhaps do with some work but in many ways, that is part of its charm… and of course the food is glorious; amazing sweet and sour and also garlic bread! 10/10 would recommend! Lovely staff, lovely place. 5 stars from moi.

First time here as normally use the Min do. But Min do bloody awful since it updated it's shop. The paradise is a bit dearer but the quality is superb. As I say first time used but absolutely no complaint at all. Delicious.🤟

Dont be put off by the outside . The food is always realy nice and massive portions . Very nice people , only downfall is no delivery otherwise i would only ever use this place its that good

Please don’t let the first impressions put you off, and yes I know you don’t get a second chance to make a first impression, but in this instance please make this an exception, and I can assure you, you won’t be disappointed. The restaurant is up for sale, as the owner Tony, whose now 77 years young has decided to hang his Wok up and retire. However that hasn’t stopped them serving exceptional Chinese fayre. The highlight of the evening was the sizzling lamb in garlic and chilli, outstanding! We also had the mixed starter and the aromatic duck, which were also very good. I do hope someone does come along and take the restaurant over, and yes bring it upto date. But at the end of the day, it’s the food that counts, and at the moment it remains “ top drawer”.

Don't let the outside put you off, the food here is delicious, the healthiest Chinese meal ive ever had, lots of fresh vegetables, the meat was tender and tasty, The owners are lovely and can't do enough, The best Chinese 👌 we will definitely be back

Don't let the outside fool you! Lovely friendly family run feel to the restaurant. Lovely food and big portions. My partner said he had the best ribs he had! Green pepper chicken was lovely and a really nice spice. We will definitely be going back, a hidden gem!

One of the best black bean sauces I’ve ever had. What a hidden gem! All the meat in every dish was very tender and full of flavour, amazing value for money as well! 10/10 would definitely recommend. We will be returning!!

phoned in a delivery and waited an hour and 20 minutes for food...had to ring them up and ask where our food was they said they couldnt get a delivery driver and instead of ringing us and telling us they left us to wait for 1 hour and 20 minutes plus we would have to wait a further 30 minutes for the manager to ring us back...absolute disaster of service. totally disorganized and appalling way to treat customers.

Quite often visit with work colleagues after drinks in the town , food is always delicious and generous portions , Tony is a well liked character always polite and accommodating, the restaurant has a very dated decor but full of character like Tony 👍.

Went in as a family early on New Years Eve. Yes I agree with other reviews that the decor needs major overhaul which is a shame as its the only sit down Chinese in Saltburn, but have to say the food was great. The service a bit slow especially as we were the only ones in and portions quite large. Had we known this wouldn't have ordered so much and the prices when you eat in are not cheap. However I could not fault any of the food. Two of us had sizzling dishes which I would recommend. Will certainly order takeaway from there in the future.

Tony Ho's....the local name. Been a customer for 30 + years . Similar time scale to the unchanged decor. I agree it needs to brought up to speed and the toilets the same. However we have found the ability to see the funny side of it and make light of the lack of change. It's not a first date place but I have taken a number of friends here and they always enjoy the food , laugh at Tony with his amusing ways ...he's an oriental offshoot of Bazil Fawley. I guess he will not change now .. .I hope not ! So the food , we have always enjoyed the Szechuan king prawns. The sizzling Satay beef , special and fried rice. Try this dinning inside and I guarantee you will be impressed. Served on a sizzling hot plate , large portions you can share. Honesty...me, my friends , and family carnt all be wrong . We totally enjoy the dining experience. Maybe we don't take life so serious but we do enjoy good food.

6th Oct 2016 saw the mixed reviews but thought try it and make our own mind up and so glad we did! A veritable banquet with great service. Portions are large and the quality is great. Ok the decor is not Laura Ashley but we're here for salt chili ribs and spicy king prawn with green pepper. Oh and we went at 6pm and were treated like kings which may have something to do with the fact I've been to China and our thanks were appreciated. Tony your a Saltburn Ledgend

Right well we will start with the positives,and there were a few.My lamb curry and egg fried rice were nice.Ive eaten many better but equally many worse.Also Lamb curry is a rarity.at a Chinese.It also turned up in a fairly good time.The cook/waitress was very pleasant.Someone in there has to be,cos the owner certainly isnt. My food turned up wrapped as if a takeaway when i was sat at a table,which by the way had a dirty mark on the tablecloth.It clearly hadnt been changed as i was the first person in after opening.When i said i wanted to eat in,the owner,who by the way shouts endlessly at the cook,shouted at me he wanted £2 for me to sit in.I did pay not to cause a scene over £2.when i left i checked everything in the window carefully,not one mention of £2 extra for eating in. I actually came in here about 4 years ago on a Saturday night about 930am and was the only customer which should tell people something My advice avoid at all costs.I wonder how it makes enough money to stay in business.

its really a takeaway that was once a restaurant, the place needs a good clean, the decor is well outdated and clearly designed by someone who was colour blind, the staff are friendly and the food is fine I have had better and worse. you know if the owners did a good deep clean this place could be very good in a kitch sort of way, a throw back to the 70's they could put 70's music on and that could be its neach in the market, saltburns own 70's Chinese restaurant

Wandering round the streets on a Sunday night we popped in here to stave off our hunger! I always get suspicious when entering a restaurant with no one else in it....tables not set...and stains from the last offerings on the table covers. But we were in the door...so decided to stay. Decor really is to behold...lime green walls and a pink roof! Ornaments and lights that look like they have not seen a duster for the last 30 years. Its really not hard to keep up cleanliness standards is it? Lights with low energy bulbs at jaunty angles...made for good entertainment! No napkins... Just value kitchen roll sheets folded though!!!! The staff were polite....food was ok...my curry was thick and gloopy and very dark...but taste was ok. Partner had egg for yung which was ok too. So food didn't really do it...but i stress... It was ok!! Massive menu...but i hate to think what the kitchen is like! Anyway.... I've tried much better...but it was quite comical and entertaining! Toilets need a good clean too....so loads of basic stuff attended to and a lick round with a duster...and a paintbrush may bring its ratings up. Price was ok... Nearly 30 pound... Main courses and sides and two drinks!

heard about this place but thought I would give it a go - should listen to reviews - only ones in restaurant - no tables set - nothing behind the bar - looked like it relies on takeaways - food under par for Chinese - would not visit again - beware !!!!!!!!!

This is the best chinese restaurant I had in saltburn ! Yes , there is only one chinese restaurant in this area but I can't fault the food. Went there with my wife and we had a brilliant time with the owner tony and his wife. Good chat over the dinner and we did felt very welcome by them. Strongly recommended.

i along with friends have been visiting this Jewel in the crown restaraunt for many years and will continue to do so. The decor is a bit dated but the food and service clearly makes up for this. The establishment is clean and tidy. Tony and his wife do a marvellous job of serving good servings of quality dishes from a menu that if you have the time will take about 2 hours to get through. Try the z21 or z22 on the sizzling rack. Don't let the tired decor put you off. Grab a table, a beer and be prepared to be amazed. Keep up the good work...

I used to go in here 50 years ago and visited recently and I don't think the carpet has changed in all that time. Same owner, the food is drab and tasteless to say the least. Would not recommend this at all. Would rather get food from a Hotdog stall on the sea front!

The decor will soon be fashionable again!! The food is always great, sizzling satay beef , Szechuan king prawns our favourites . Its an experience eating here, we never fail to be amused. Really needs attention to the decor now!! However still one of the best sit down Chinese meals in the aera.

If this 'chinese' restaurant was in a bigger town or city you might wonder how it survives however, in Saltburn it is one of two Chinese restaurants/takeaways in the town?! When I visited, around 19.00 in the evening the place was empty, the tables were bare and, aside from an elderly gentleman in the bar by the door no sign of any staff? A takeaway seemed the better option, a Chinese vegetable curry with chips, which came very quickly!When I got it home and opened the chips had been frozen and the curry contained few if any Chinese vegetables but it did have a large amount of frozen carrots, peas and sweet corn!It would be hard to find a poorer place to eat or takeaway in Saltburn or anywhere else!

Do not go to this restaurant. The food was terrible and the surroundings as bad. The outside should have told me not to go in but I went in with my wife. The inside matched the outside. I will never eat there again.

This was the worst Chinese food I have ever eaten and probably the most expensive. We looked for reviews before we went but couldn't find any. I would like to help others not to make the same mistake.
