We were in Newcastle for three days and wanted to visit one of the Chinatown Restaurants . I did some research online and decided to visit The Landmark Restaurant. When we arrived to my surprise at 6.45 pm restaurant closed and in the dark . We looked in at the Amaysia restaurant and it looked busy with a complete mix of diners eating . We decided to go in and luckily we were able to get a table. We ordered a Sharing Platter and for main courses , Lemon Chicken and a Chicken Breast Curry. The food was excellent and the service great and all reasonably priced

Plenty of choice with lots of Chinese and Japanese restaurants with take away facilities. Not too big and great to go and see.

Apart from lots of restaurants and one Chinese supermarket there was not a lot to see. Cars were queuing into underground car parks. I was looking for a buffet style Chinese restaurant. Unfortunately I picked the wrong one. Worst Chinese I had ever had. Should have read the reviews on Trip Advisor before I dined. There are that many restaurants though there must be some good ones. Nothing about this area makes me feel the I the to go back. Disappointed.

We walked through the area known as Chinatown on the way to St James park and noted restaurant's but it didn't seem the most inviting place to eat. Viewed the archway, maybe the place seems more inviting during the evening?

If you want a place to have Chinese or Japanese food this is the place to be. When I walk through this boring street I always mumble.

Worth a stroll through for the smells alone. As you would expect, numerous restaurants and businesses in a fairly concentrated part of the city, but perhaps not the most impressive of areas.

This is a sad Chinatown. It's literally one street and some of the shops here are even Chinese. Plenty of closed shops here, but there's some decent restaurants here and also a proper Chinese supermarket, which does have an excellent range of Chinese groceries. Fine if you've never seen a Chinatown before, but otherwise don't bother. It is a good place to get Asian food though, if that's what you're after.

Enter through the Chinese Arch to a street full of restaurants. You are certainly spoilt for choice. A well kept street with many different types of Chinese cooking going on. The smell welcomes you in!

China town in Newcastle used to be a place for classy Chinese food. Now it is more of the all you can eat sort of place. There are still a couple of nice restaurants for those special occassions. There are two car parks from which the Gates car park is more expensive. There are also two Chinese supermarkets wghich are great if you like to cook yourself.

Not best one but still worth seeing. A bit crowded specially while saturdays or sundays. Would love to visit again.

I always referred to this place as China Town in Newcastle upon Tyne. All Asia foods are available at a budget price in China Town.

This place is ok at best. It really is typical of what you would expect from a venue of this type. Food is mass produced but is fine to fill a whole when your starving. The staff took way to long to take my drinks order and where not friendly in anyway shape or form. They perhaps could do with some customer care skills. That said... sometimes in life you get what you pay for. I wont be eating here again. Sorry

Found a perfect Hong Kong restaurant and the food was just awesome. Wing Kee was a real find for us. Traditional Hong Kong cuisine I missed so much here. Portions were huge and the value just amazing. Try the wonderful fresh dim sum and the Crispy noodles in the special. Great young lad and lass running the place and they were a real delight. Will be back soon!

Perhaps the pub closest to Newcastle United's stadium, the Newcastle Arms is a welcoming, low-key venue with a great selection of small, local ales.Pub food is pretty similar, certainly for pubs that are not destinations or gastronomic meccas. But this pub serves good, basic cuisine. You can find a saveloy with pease pudding, something that will give you the true Geordie food experience. A working man's sandwich, this comes with a split sausage, a good portion of cooked and mashed peas, onions, and mustard, on a soft roll. It goes easily with a pint. Eat this and picture yourself stopping in midway through your workday.

Went to Palace gardens for an informal meal after all the gluttony of Christmas, with family and friends.Always a warm welcome. Food was great. Service was quick and it was fun to indulge in their DIM SUM's. Have been there on previous occasions. Never have been disappointed.

I visit the lunch box regularly. Staff are always pleasant and attentive. Food is fresh and tasty. Plenty of hot and cold choices. Would recommend for a quick bite.

Located in probably the worst area of Newcastle. Our group Xmas dinner was a private occasion, surprised that no other customers were around. The food was adequate, nothing major. I was lead to believe the karaoke was included when booking the large group dinner, but they insisted on charging 30 pounds per hour. We kindly declined and moved to a more atmospheric environment. It is unlikely we will be returning to this restaurant.
