What can I say - service was amazing, staff were attentive and friendly and so helpful. The food was absolutely amazing. The only bad thing is that we live too far away to make it our local!! We were here on holiday but unanimously agreed that the food was so good it was worth coming up for a meal again! The lamb ribs were absolutely to die for - my favourite dish! Servings were plentiful and there was so much we had to leave a lot as were staying in a hotel so couldn't get it boxed up to eat later - gutted! We will be back!!

Ordered chicken fried rice and it was one of the worst I’ve ever had. The chicken is overcooked and dry the rice is sticky and a bit mushy. Thanks for a great last diner in Newcastle….

1 star is one too many, if I could have given 0 I would have!! Ordered food via delivroo, arrived quickly that was the only one positive remark I’m going to comment on. I have allergies so I made sure to add that in the comments box when ordering. Might as well not bothered. The chicken noodles had onions in, which I cannot eat, the prawn crackers were tasteless, prawn toast curled cooked within an inch of its life. Partners egg fried rice was a compressed congealed brown lump. The crispy beef was anything but, he said it was chewy and tasted disgusting. I contacted the restaurant, to complain about the onions and that I couldn’t eat them the man that answered didn’t speak great English, he kept repeating what I was saying.. I ended up putting the phone down on him as I wasn’t going to get our money back.. £40 of disgusting food that ended up in the bin.. If you have allergies avoid this place!

A very, very, very, very, very, very delicious restaurant. The chicken is super delicious, the fish in sour soup is delicious, the milk tea is delicious, I recommend the little secret of brown sugar and half sugar, and the dry pot series is also good! It’s delicious. I recommend the hot pot bullfrog!

It's a very good Chinese restaurant, and the service is very enthusiastic. The two of us ordered garlic white pork, Maoxuewang and chili fried pork. They were all delicious and the price was right. If you want to eat Sichuan food, come here.

Came here as a work night out, the food was amazing and the karaoke was fun. Not a huge selection of English songs. I believe there is only one waitress who speaks some broken English but enough to do what's needed. Food was relatively cheap for the portion size. Highly recommend the double cooked pork.

Salt & pepper chips were just cold chips with cinnamon and chilli powder on top, curry was mostly oil and the spring rolls made me sad

The menu was amazing, it was the first time I see a huge menu that has picture of every single food, organized and beautiful. Furthermore, I ordered noodles and they tasted soooo good, I’m here on a trip (I’m from Spain) and this is the best food I have tried in UK, 很好吃💗✨

Very, very delicious! Linyi Fried Chicken and Xinjiang Chicken Noodles are most recommended. The milk tea made by my aunt is also super delicious!

Needless to say, I come to Newcastle from Durham to eat here every week. It’s delicious, cost-effective and full of food. I’m satisfied. The boss is super nice.

Very good Chinese restaurant, authentic taste, affordable price, and great service attitude

Moji is really good. I highly recommend their grilled lamb chops. It is no exaggeration to say that they are really charred on the outside and tender and juicy on the inside.

A very good Chinese restaurant in Newcastle. The waiters are very friendly. Students can get a 20% discount when joining a group, which is very affordable. The store's signature Shandong Linyi fried chicken is very good, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside, sweet and delicious. The big bones in Northeastern sauce are also very authentic. As a Harbin native, I never expected to be able to eat hometown dishes in the Northeast of England. In addition, his sauerkraut and white meat is also highly recommended, both of which are Northeastern dishes.

Whenever I come to Newcastle I'm sure to order food from here, the vegetarian options are great!! The tofu is insanely good with a perfect level of spice and I always get fried noodles and veggie spring rolls which are 10/10.

First time ordering from here and the food was very much bland. The salt and chilli chicken was awful and it definitely didn’t taste like chicken. The noodles didn’t have any flour to them at all very dry. The chips were ok and so was the curry sauce. I won’t be ordering again. Disappointed overall.

Ordered through ubereats. Tom yum seafood soup with no seafood, salt and chilli chicken just covered in chilli powder and rock hard, hardly any chicken, mostly coating and pork suimai- the dipping sauce was like vinegar. Not impressed at all. I'll stick to my usual restaurant from now on

One of the restaurants serving Chinese food that we have had the opportunity to enjoy in the UK. The quality of the food and everything else is at a normal, acceptable level. However, it is also delicious and gives diners a feeling of comfort.

Terrible. Our usual takeaway but was so different to usual! Honey chicken flavourless in a watery sauce. The beef curry was swimming in oil. The salt and peppers chips as others have pointed out is just a lazy seasoning on top. Quite disgusting service, especially considering the current climate, do not spend your money here.

My brother ordered this as we are on a stag/hen weekend,The main celebration starts a dat after so 8 of us decided to get a table, The main issue we had was the person taking the order did not really speak good English so he had to keep coming back to check the order, and this was just the drinks. It was very confusing for us and him and 2 people still never received their drinks. After nearly 1 hour of waiting and still not explaining the set meal properly we gave up and left to go to another Buffet restaurant Anneesa and it was great, I always worry when you are the only people in at between 7 and 8 pm. My brother made the decision to call it a day and to be fair their set menu for two ranges from £20:50 each up to around £45 each. WE called the other restaurant while waiting and they got us straight in. The difference was amazing, the place was fresh and lots of people but that will be in another review. The lady who was going to prepare the food at the Chinese restaurant was mortified and you could see she was genuinely sorry for the issues. My advise is to get front of house staff that actually understand what you are selling as he did not know the menu or how the set menu worked, It maybe be a training need you can work with him on but ultimately that cost you the best part of £300 to £400 pounds when you take into consideration the drinks we planned to have too and as we had been the only custom in an hour things did not look great. I think also you need to raise your 3 star food hygiene rating as this too will put people off. ALSO WE NEVER SAW THE KARAOKE AND THATS WHY WE ORIGINALLY WENT.

Absolutely terribly awful meal. Would have given it no stars but that was not an option. Green curry was inedible looked like green chicken condensed soup x the hot pot looked like congealed brown stuff and the chicken my daughter had was like treacle. I discovered Mo Ji many months ago and have never been let down. I’m not really a fan of the usual Chinese takeaways available as I prefer more authentic to the region cuisine and so many are very westernised, the usual gloopy rubbish. Mo ji is not like that at all, very fresh, lean, not MSGd up the wazoo. My son doesn’t like Chinese food at all usually, this is the only place he will have it from, so that’s us both happy. Don’t be afraid to try something new or crazy sounding, you never know what you might discover.

The worst service, genuinely disgusted by the interaction with Moji tonight. Ordered from Moji tonight - items were missing from our order. When I called the restaurant, they were incredibly dismissive and unhelpful, implying it was our fault. The only suggestion they had was to place another order for the items. Never again! Avoid at all costs

Serving regular patrons authentic Chinese food for more than a decade, a friend of mine from Singapore recommended me this place. Don’t let the rustic looking exterior or the dimly lit stairs fool you; it speaks volumes of how long this restaurant has been running, and along with it, it’s consistency and experience in preparing their cuisine. While most people order take-aways, I’d recommend dining in; food is prepared as it’s freshest and you get the full experience. *I notice the bad reviews for this restaurant happen to be from takeaways. That’s why, I personally would recommend dining in. 🍳 Fu Yong Dan (Chinese Style Omelette) Deliciously prepared, this was quite a large helping, in which my wife really enjoyed. It’s one of her favourite dishes. 🫑 Chilli & Pepper Tofu I love how they use Chilli Pepper Corns in this dish. It was sizeable in proportion, and truly a delicious dish. 🍚 Vegetable Fried Rice Hot from the wok, a lovely dish accompanying the condiments. With the price being at an affordable range, this was really worth experiencing. I’ll come again to try different dishes 😄

Extremely disappointed that this place advertises vegetarian and vegan options and then gives meat anyway. The real and fake meats are completely different colours and textures, it's not hard to give someone the right one. Hoping a refund will come through as I wasn't offered a replacement and I can't eat meat.

When arrived the 2 plastic boxes that people use for normal delivery was less than half full, did not have any veg or anything mixed in with beef or chicken. The chicken was hard, & 95% batter only I can't even remember any meat. & Was hard & definitely overcooked not hot at all. The beef well okay apart from very very little and still not hot barely warm. We called up to complain about potions & heat & had to confirm order 5times before understood. Then said so what's wrong Even though told numerous times. Then said speak to management & hung up phone. When phoned back to really complain said he didn't speak, didn't do that. So when I asked to speak to manager or anyone else. Said not there, doesn't know when will be, if in. Who will be. Have no manager. When I commented someone better call or I will call back every hour till, they just laughed & hung up again! Was disgusting tasteless rubbish. Barely any food, and terrible service. Neither of the staff spoke English, Had to double check my order and brought out the main 3minutes after the starter. Main was tepid rice was overcooked and again tepid, chicken was flavourless but sauce was tasty. Won’t be returning. I’d advise anyone to swerve this place.

Rang up to ask a simple question about the food, because their Deliveroo descriptions are useless (the "vegan chicken" is cooked in a "pork sauce", what?..). The man who answered was not only completely useless, but did not even try to answer simple questions about what the sauce was. Rude and unprofessional - avoid.

I got a Just Eat delivery from here, it arrived on time, well packaged and still hot. I got the Capital Chicken Wings which was 4 wings in a sorta sweet sauce, they were lovely 😁 i also got the Wind and Sand Lamb Ribs, which was Lamb Flank im guessing?.. some meat and some fat which is not to my taste, the actual lamb meat was juicy and tender, just not enough of it tbh too much fat, also the rub flavouring was a bit much , did actually feel like a was eating dry sand at one point. The chips and curry sauce were nice 😁

Really lovely food. We ordered a takeaway which arrived really quickly and was delicious. It can be hard to find a decent Chinese takeaway but this is now my favourite. Sweet and sour was lovely. Not too sweet and not gloopy at all. I’m looking forward to going for a night out!

Went tonight, we planned on going but didn't book. The last time we went was a couple of years ago. Staff were very accommodating and friendly. We ordered banquet Shanghai which was £19.90 per person and well worth it. Food all came at the right time after we finished one course the next came a couple of minutes later, you could tell the food was cooked fresh. The dinning experience was quiet and we could talk to each other. We really don't have a bad word to say about it. We even had to take some food home because there was too much.

Not good. Burnt our first order and trying again months later the same dish was still burnt, not just a bit... to ash. Chips were also soggy, undercooked and inedible.

Delivery is always here either early or acceptably a few moments late (people seem to forget drivers can't magically control traffic!) one time i ordered from here for me and my Girlfriend and someone named Davie hand wrote a note of compliment that was attached to a free bag of prawn crackers! the food itself is outstandingly good and I would highly recommend Moji, I WILL be a returning customer!

Ordered via Deliveroo wouldn’t really have chosen this place ordinarily but gave it a go food arrived really promptly we ordered crispy duck pancakes OK vermicelli Singapore noodles crispy shredded beef and Wind and Sand Lamb Ribs. Cost £50 + delivery 🚚 food OK, not great but edible apart from the Lamb Ribs which were really fatty; @ £16.50 way overpriced. Wouldn’t order again.

Confirmed food poisoning from food consumed at that restaurant. 5 days of stomach cramps and pain. Avoid.

Sinceramente, no soy un gran admirador de la comida china, fui invitado aquí para una fiesta de amigos y honestamente puedo decir que es la mejor comida china que he probado en mi vida. El pescado picante que tuvimos no podría haber sido más agradable, las bolas de gambas con yema de huevo también iban a morir. El servicio fue muy bueno, obtuvimos todo lo que pedimos y el personal fue muy amable al explicar exactamente qué comida contenía. El karaoke fue muy divertido y volveré pronto.

Everything we ate was great and the customer service was excellent. The building is quite atmospheric with dimmed lighting. It even has karaoke rooms! My favourite dish was the sweet and sour fish.

Food served cold. When meals sent back they were put in the microwave. 2 1/2 hours later everyone still wasn’t fed. Majority of meals wrong or things missing. Chicken fried rice containing beef. Service was absolutely diabolical. Highly disappointed.

This Chinese is just terrible. Ordered the chilli chicken, which is literally just batter, and there isn't even any chilli flavour coming through from the sauce on it. Even the egg fried rice tasted bland and awful. And it's not exactly cheap. I've barely ate any and I'm still hungry. Don't waste your money or time.

Ordered chilli chicken and chicken chow mein from deliveroo. DISGUSTING. Chilli chicken was just batter (seriously - it was) and the chow mein was similar in quality to super noodles only less honest. I didn't eat more than a taste of it, kicked off with deliveroo and got my money back. Went out to my local takeaway instead. I've eaten at the restaurant and it was fine, I have a feeling they have a different chef and kitchen for delivery. YUCK.

I ordered Spicy Grill Pork Ribs and Dan Dan Noodle via UberEats. The delivery service of UberEats was excellent but Moji gave wrong item. They gave me Fried Fish in sauce instead of Pork Ribs. I made a call to the restaurant. A girl picked up the phone couldn't speak English and didn't understand what I was trying to say. If you are running a restaurant in the UK. You should be better to listen, understand and speak some English. PLEASE!I didn't want to be hard on you but you kept saying 'sorry' and didn't give me any answer I expected. At least, you could pass the phone to anyone could speak English. I had a very disappointed dinner!

Went the first time and the food was alright. The waitress was polite enough despite having a poor command of English and not being able to understand what a customer is trying to say unless they speak Chinese. Went with my friend a few times later and the food was served cold each time. Tried asking and she said it's a cold dish. Who serves cold food? The other tables were served fresh hot food & the same waitress was rude as well. Once is fine, not repeatedly.

I went for my 34th birthday and booked an appropriately priced private karaoke room for after our meal....and I lucked out!The decor is beautiful. The food excellent, authentic and well priced, the staff attentive and professional. There is also huge price discount if you have a group of 10 and spend £100 between you, you get 2hrs karaoke free! And it's the karaoke rooms that are truly amazing! With incredible neon decor in the halls and then a room I can only describe as making me feel like a VIP (and so I should have, it was my birthday) all I can say to you is GO TO MOJI'S!

Never heard of Moji before but got myself a Tastecard and looked for a Chinese restaurant. It is near the Manors' Metro stop.So we visited Moji last Saturday with my boyfriend. We booked a table for lunch. The food was really lovely and the portions too. We both ordered starters, appetisers and main course from the western menu. Both western and Chinese menus looked interesting.Staff were helpful and nice. I ordered some green tea which came actually lukewarm but it got replaced as soon as I asked.Good decor too.All in all, we had a great time and enjoyed the food.We will definitely go back and recommend the restaurant to anyone.

Got invited to a karaoke party in here last night. What fun! The two staff on the upstairs bar were fab.

I've been there once ,as I live nearby just to try it out,I ordered the traditional beer coocked duck and a portion of mixed vegetables too, I loved it, I love the more traditional Chinese cuisine, the hostess was also very friendly and polite

On the groupon receipt it states how much it's worth and moji verifies it. Waitress spoke very poor English, but I speak even less chinese. Food and portions of regular size and quality of non groupon. Very nice restaurant, may go back with a larger group. Ènjoyed. Popular with chinese residents, authentic chinese menu, really good for anyone who likes different traditional foods.

firstly, not accommodating to disabled people, lots of stairs, unfriendly atmosphere, poor service, felt like English people are invisible. food was ok if you like waiting ages and your party not all being served to eat together. I was finished by the time my partner got hers. chips came spicy, which should be optional as will not suit everybody. would never go back, worst place ive been to! also if they don't have something on the menu they substitute it with something cheaper hoping you wont notice, trading stndards should get involved with this place

Ate here with a friend who had bought a groupon deal,I was skeptical after reading some of the reviews,we found the service good & the waitress was very friendly & spoke reasonable English, we wanted to Ryder from the traditional menu, but were informed we could only order from the westren menu (yes that's the spelling) so I ordered salted chilli ribs for starter, it was unusual in that there were no ribs,just small lumps of pork on the bone, it came with fried spring onions, I thoroughly enjoyed it,my friend was less adventurous & ordered spring rolls, for main I ordered sezeuchen chicken, it was very very salty,almost overpowering,my friend ordered crispy beef, it looked like twiglets in a sweet & sour sauce,but tasted like pork scratchings !! The service wasn't the quickest, but not too slow, the waitress was very friendly & helpful, well what she understood,her English seemed a bit limited,unless it was my geordie accent !! Would return again,but eat from the traditional menu, that's obviously why there were a lot of Chinese people eating there,a note for disabled diners: there is a lift,but it didn't seem to work,so otherwise there's a few stairs to climb,as the restaurant is on the 1st floor
