Stopped here for breakfast and what a lovely place this is! I had a small breakfast and my partner had a stottie cake with eggs and bacon. The food was lovely and freshly cooked. The staff were so friendly and helped us plan our day as we were new to the area. Highly recommended.
I had a jacket potato with salad, not an onion or spinach leaf in sight. My husband had a sausage and egg bap. Both were beyond comparison. We also bought a quiche for next day's tea, scrummy. And the cakes....yummy!
We were travelling home from holiday and like to support local bakeries, but my word what a find, absolute gem.
We would be happy to make a detour here, already recommended to others who I know travel this direction.
Has to be 5 stars all the way!!!
We’re not vegans, merely vegetarians! However it was a lovely surprise to stumble across this stall whilst on a walk around Durham. Whilst not hungry at the time, we bought some pastries and a scotch egg for later, purely because it was nice to see a trader specialising in meat free (or in this case vegan) products and not someone making a token effort.
All of of our food tasted awesome and we’ll definitely make a point of visiting here to try something else the next time we are in Durham.
Was here with my son tonight. Potato skin starter, cheese garlic bread and tomato & buffalo mozzarella starter. Chicken with peppercorn sauce with chips & salmon & prawns in a white wine sauce. Absolutely delicious. Looking forward to going back 🙂
Tried this little restaurant an Saturday with my sisters . It ticked all of our boxes . The staff were excellent ,the barman couldn’t have done more , his friendly and attentive service together with a relaxed and comfortable environment made our visit very enjoyable . The food was great value for money. We had the £7:95 2 course special . It was very tasty , well cooked and presented ( we even had proper salad garnish instead of the usual bit of soggy lettuce ! ) We meet for lunch every Saturday and look for small friendly places with reasonable prices , good food and friendly staff .This place had it all. We are returning this Saturday !
-Muchas gracias. 100% recomiendo Paul y su comida 👌
Stylish yet unpretentious bar with great cocktail selection. Good observations of social distancing and plenty of hand sanitiser. Music doesn't quite match decor, but all round winner.
Spent a lovely Saturday here with work colleagues for the South Shields v Marine FC match. We had a prime table in the Shipley Lounge where we were feed, watered and got to watch the game from the comfort of some nice warm seats.
The food was delicious, the chicken was cooked to perfection and the dauphinoise potatoes, little creamy dreams! Dessert was a winter comfort classic, bread and butter pudding with custard, which topped the meal off nicely.
The service from all the staff was spot on, cheery and helpful and the fact the lads won just made the day even better!
A fantastic day out at a great little club!
We visited on a Friday evening, had some very nice cocktails especially Wallington dream their signature cocktail. After coming back from holiday this place made us feel likke we are still celebrating on holidays. Love the calzone and the seafood linguine very fresh and tasty. We'll done to the owner and the team they turned this place to a proper Restaurant
Great food, wraps are amazing and seasoned chips taste great. Chicken shawarma is my go to order but also love the cheese garlic bread. The portion size is very filling with the wrap and chips :)
First discovered on Facebook and made a promise to myself that we’d visit the first opportunity we had. Voila!! Done that this morning on our way home to Lancashire and wasn’t disappointed. Menu is great- plenty of breakfast options- we both had a light breakfast which was substantial and just delicious- and proper thick toast. The accompanying coffee was lovely- strong just as we like. This pitstop breakfast set us up for our journey back home. We’ll definitely return next time we’re over that way- and maybe I’ll not forget the scones/cakes I’d promised myself I’d be bring back with me!!
