The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

Ordered a food delivery, was informed it would be an hour and a half, called to see the progress after that time to be told it’s on the way, 15mins later still no food. (5 min drive away) Finally arrived nearly 2 hours later. My conclusion is they’re not bothered about holiday makers and look after the locals. Food would have been ok if it wasn’t cold when it arrived had to heat it up in a microwave. Not impressed and would advise if you can’t go in to order and wait for it don’t bother because they lie.

Been eating with them for over 5 years and every time it’s the best I’ve had. Lovely staff very welcoming and always updating the decorations which is lovely. Foods great I’ve eaten from probably over 50 takeaways in my life and they are the best

Called up the restaurant using the number provided on here but was told the restaurant is now called Lucky Star - that should have been my red flag. Anyway, placed my order and went to pick it up and what do you know? The chicken was rancid. I did not want to believe it, why would a restaurant with so many great reviews give me rancid salt and pepper chicken? But alas, I could not deceive myself even if I tried - I had been given chicken that had gone OFF cleverly coated in spring onions and chillies. Why for all that is good would you guys do something so obviously bad? Have you no conscience? Are you dead inside? Is money all that matters to you? Do you wish me dead? Is everything else rancid as well or is it just the chicken? ANSWER ME!!!

Got food poisoning from the Rice.

Absolutely vile food disgusting. avoid at all costs.food knocked me sick.had to be thrown away. £30 wasted.and the staff are very rude and wouldn't refund me.i wont be ordering from there ever again. i wouldn't give the food to a homeless person or my own dog.

One of my favourite Chinese takeaways. They always give me extra fortune cookies (my dog doesn't like to miss out). I'm vegan and the veggies are 100% yummy. The sauces are rich and delicious and they don't skimp out on the packaging - although I have enough plastic containers now! Always happy staff and always good, hot scrumptious food! Oh and quick too!

Our go to restaurant when down this way, never fails to be anything other than superb, the food is top notch, definitely not your standard all you can eat. The staff were friendly, attentive and polite... never had any cause to moan or complain in all the years we have been visiting...

sauce is overpriced and the hoisun sauce tastes like ahh. not impressed

Pedí una masala Dosa para llevar y cuando llegué a casa me di cuenta de que el recipiente de patatas al curry solo estaba medio lleno. También había pedido Bombay Aloo. El recipiente estaba cubierto de agua en la parte superior y las patatas se habían hundido en el fondo. No había salsa en absoluto y cuando llamé y me quejé dijeron que la receta había cambiado. Seguramente deberían haber probado la nueva receta primero antes de dar a sus clientes un plato tan poco comestible. Siendo estúpido fui de nuevo y ordené a Masala Dosa y le dije a la gerente que se asegurara de que el recipiente de papa que es pequeño para empezar se llenara por arriba y le expliqué lo que había pasado la última vez que se rió. Lo mismo sucedió de nuevo solo que medio lleno. Los precios que cobran son muy altos y uno espera recibir una buena cantidad de alimentos por ese precio. Es una estafa.

Después de habernos alejado de la zona durante algún tiempo acabamos de regresar y tuvimos que reservar una mesa aquí, ya que nos perdimos el ambiente vibrante, pero lo más importante la deliciosa comida. No hay muchos restaurantes por ahora donde se pueda ver que los patrones han podido conquistar el declive del comercio desde el Brexit, el Covid y las temidas guerras, sin embargo esta gente lo ha logrado. (La única otra es la calle Helena en Elstow) La comida estaba en el lugar, el personal es amable y servicial. El servicio era un poco lento, pero el hecho de que no había una mesa vacía a la vista nos pareció que era aceptable y sin duda volvería. Gracias de nuevo La Cruz de Oro por una gran velada.
