Once again Karen has been absolutely wonderful room was sorted before we even got there checked out late and as usual she catered for needs xxx

Seems not to have survived the pandemic. There was a delivery / takeaway menu and service for a while - but the sit-down eatery itself appears to have closed its doors for good. Great pity. It was a good place and especially good value.

I’ve been dining in to Karim for almost 5 years never had a problem maybe a few troubles but it’s understandable the staffs are great the greeter character is always on point with the sword and everything I’ve started doing takeouts in Karim and the food is still the same as when you dine in thank you very much karim.

I went on 19/2/2020 to treat my wife for her birthday, i had last visited around 9 years ago and never had a bad experience before. I went for the early bird 5-7pm option. We were met by a 'Greeter' in fancy dress, his english was really bad and his manners were even worse. He was very abrupt and not pleasant man at all, telling me and my wife to 'SIT' after leading us towards a table. My wife and I just brushed this off as his lack of english, mid way into our dinner, he came over to the table and proceeded to ask us where we were from, at the time it was only me and my wife at the restaurant, the place was deserted, and i can understand why because the food was not good at all, very watery curries and no tastless food. Anyway, i found this man's questioning strange and invasive, i asked him why he was carrying a sword around his waste, he said if i did not behave, he would use it on me. I found this reply highly offensive and threatening. I will not be going back, if only because of this man's behaviour.

Me and the Mrs went in last night valentine night for the first time really enjoyed it nice food plenty of choice, the staff are really nice and friendly I hope the staff and managers and owners read my review, they are a credit to the restaurant and it makes for a nice atmosphere I would highly recommend to friends and family we will be back such a nice place well done.

We returned to Karim's after a break of about 5 years to find that it absolutely lived up to our memories of it as a really great experience for everyone. Going on a Saturday evening we weren't sure what the make up of the clientelle would be, but basically everyone was there - in a good way; families from 1-91, groups of young men, people on dates, and me and my adult daughters. We had a smashing time, loved every delicious morsal. The salads and veggie dishes were delicious, but there wasn't a huge choice for vegetarians

Brilliant again. I went with my son and friend on Christmas Day. The food was great. They had all the usual dishes. But they also put on Christmas dinner for everyone. Very clever move. The service was really good, even though it was very busy. You should go and try it. Enjoy. Me

I have been going to this restaurant longer than I can remember. I have gone with family and friends. We have never had a bad meal. The food is out of this world. A great selection and always hot and tasty. It is really worth a visit. You will love it. Go and enjoy yourselves. Me

Have been to Karim’s several times in the past as a private diner and as a guest at other events. There is a small car park to the rear which if you arrive early has enough space, but if on peak days/ during other events it may be tricky. The place itself is somewhat dated and the cutlery/crockery/glasses haven't always looked the cleanest. But the waiters regularly take away plates and you end up getting another should you wish more food. The price is £12/per, children 3-8 are half price and under 3s free. However, if you book a party even a small one in advance the rate seems to go up as the incorporate the drinks in booking too, whether you want it or not. Whilst there is an extensive range of main/starter dishes available (mainly for non-vegetarians), the taste/quality is average. There are a few "unadvertised" items which, for some reason customer have to guess are available to ask for e.g. chops/paya etc. Usually find this out after seeing it at another customer's table. The salad bar is fresh and nice in my opinion and they seemed to have a decent selection of desserts too. Based on previous reasonable experiences, I booked the venue for a large party and was hugely disappointed on several counts. Some of the waiters were very friendly and helpful others were much less so. The buffet trays, especially in the starter section, were frequently empty and didn't get filled up at a sufficient rate. Unfortunately, there were issues which arose at payment time too. Despite previously clarifying at booking time that I would only be charged for actual guests, they actually charged me for the number of guests I told them I was expecting rather than the actual attendees even though it was less. So would advise stating a lower number than you think, that way you only pay for the people that actually turn up, they will charge you for any extra guests – which is to be expected. At the time of settling the bill they reneged on the verbal agreement saying that they prepared fresh food for the number of people I estimated. Well I would expect the food to be fresh every day regardless and if they cooked to my numbers as well as to cater for the other diners in main hall then I wonder why the buffet trays were empty. The owner of the restaurant was listening, most angrily in the corner, whilst I disputed the agreed terms with the chap (Mr Malik) who dealt with the booking, in the end he couldn’t help himself and got involved too. The owner was very aggressive in his manner and words, clearly had little understanding of customer service, it was definitely not the behaviour/attitude to retain custom. He said that I should have paid the full bill before having the party but the Mr Malik did me a ‘special favour’ because he knew me – err no I didn’t know him beyond recognising him from previous visits and as far as payment goes, I have booked several parties elsewhere and the protocol has been to pay a deposit to secure the booking and settle balance at the end. Then they forgot that I had paid a second deposit and added that to the final bill! Conveniently I had the receipts for both deposits – so they couldn’t argue with that. Had it not been for this awful behaviour (particularly the owner’s) and payment issues I would have continued to be one of their customers. Fortunately, there are plenty more restaurants to choose from!

The staff are friendly and attentive. This is a self service place where to be honest the food is luke warm but an edible range of asian and chinese offering. Cheap enough eat all you want for about £13. Obviously catering for our asian community friends as alcohol is not served. They probably get a nicer lot of diners, but is strange to eat this food without a kingfisher or cobra. Would try again.

Come here at least once or twice a year as it's such good value for money. Great selection of fresh food from the all you can eat buffet, pleasant, attentive staff and plenty of room between tables so you're not on top of the people next door. Large car park. Nice choice of desserts, salad and condiments.

I was first time visit with my family, restaurant that time very busy, food was fresh and delicious, lots selection to choose from , I run my own food place in Scotland, I find out easily food fresh or not, place is clean and tidy, no complaints, I saw staff gives excellent service to customers, highly recommend that place 👌Annai

Visited with friends to celebrate two birthdays. Starters were good with lots of options. Several nice curries to choose from but only one rice choice, which was full of chickpeas!! One of our party opted for the lasagna which looked lovely but was full of chickpeas!! Dessert choice was very strange, lovely fruit salad and jelly cubes but several strange looking options. Service was good and the staff were friendly and helpful.

Visited the restaurant at 6:45pm with 9 other adults my 10 year old son and 3 year old daughter. Food was great but as I went down to get a second helping I slipped on a wet floor which had no wet floor sign and once I made this aware to the staff all they could do was offer me a glass of water to calm me down as I had hurt my knee and was crying hysterically. This was my first visit and will definitely be my last. Not one member of staff asked if I was ok how appalling.

I was greeting very nicely at the door and was set up to have a great experience and then the food it was terrible the food was undercooked and most of the food wasn’t under the covers. I spoke to the “manager” and tried to explain that I was unhappy with the food and immediately he said there was no discount as he had to pay for the wastage which I understood but he didn’t sympathise with me at all and didn’t listen to a word I said. He then sent all of his staff in front of the door with a man holding it from the other side and said we wasn’t leaving until the bill was paid. I explained I was never not going to pay I just wanted to make him aware of the experience I had with them in order to better themselves and customer feedback is always helpful. I definitely won’t be returning to this place as I was shamed in front of the full restaurant and felt belittled by the situation.
