I sat in the car outside while my wife bought the fish and chips. Lovely fish, wonderful chips. Probably only bettered by eating by the sea at (say) Blackpool.

Great takeaway with good prices.

Just got chippy for tea about 6pm. In my order was salt n pepper ribs. The worst ribs ever they were old cremated and from the previous session. Threw them away. Very disappointing The rest of the food was spot on.

Food was terrible, chips well undercooked spring rolls and prawn toast burnt to a crisp hour and sour soup toasted of pure vinegar and the duck had hardly any meat on

Tried Magdala on a recommendation, so glad I did the food was hot, fresh and some of the tasty food I've eaten Highly recommend this establishment. did not disappoint

Gone down hill, past three times we’ve been it’s been very bland but we’ve given it the benefit of the doubt and gone again. Safe to say with the price increase which I fully understand everyone has to do I won’t be going again. Waste of money

Very disappointed with my meal tonight, I go most weeks for salt & pepper ribs but this week was awful, full of gristle and coating but no meat, left most of it, only 2 small bones in the whole meal which is unusual for ribs. And at an increase in price to £6.20!! The meal was awful!!

Awful simple as that the chips used to be nice not no more

The woman owner is a horrible woman that cant do maths(gave us wrong change and were there for ages arguing with her about it) and needs to get a life...seriously. even with video evidence that we were right she still didn't admit that she was in the wrong. customer service was horrible. took 20 MINUTES to get the first order of chips, nothing else just chips took 20 minutes. no other orders probably because she has scared them away. Food wasn't nice either the chips were described as 'dead'.

Waited too long..waited half an hour before they asked what i wanted,then 5 min later they put my fish in another 10 min wait

Definitely one of the best in Heywood. The food: chow meins, vermicelli, S&P chips, meats with green peppers and black bean sauce, Ribs and S&P chips, top notch. Used to be the best S&P chicken wings in Heywood but seem to have gone down hill on those. Happy Fish miles better. Warning: Please wear ear defenders when visiting, Mrs Shouty (the mum) is getting louder by the week !!! Seriously thought she was going attack me the last two times I went in.

Covid safety measures very strong and properly policed

Phoned order at 6pm, told to collect at 7pm still waiting outside at 8pm. Taking walk in orders and leaving phone order customers waiting. Just a rubbish chippy, never using again, they do not deserve any custom.

Best Chinese takeaway ive ever had

Always have a really good service here and even though they are always busy they never drop their standard

Really enjoyed all food available, particularly egg fu dish, cheese pie, meat pie. peas and gravy. time restrictions apply during this long term virus.

Rude staff, moaned about trying more chips at 10:30. I didn't realise it would be an issued considering it has a 11pm closing time. Also very poor quality food, would not recommend. Pair of Boglins running the place.

Women in their pulled their faces when I asked for a large portion of chips. The attitude of the staff members sucked, the food was average at best would not go here again.

Magdala Street chippy as been a favourite of mine for a long time, great food and run by a lovely family.

This is a local back street Chinese takeaway, but the food is above average, and the menu is extensive. I would recommend this establishment.

We went Sunday teatime and it was so obvious that the chips and prawn crackers were Saturday nights leftovers. Hard dry and disgusting. Why do they do this. Will not return.

Our local chippy serving English fish and chips and Chinese food the quality and choice is unbelievable. Lovely family running this chippy been years here doing a fantastic job.

We were staying in Heywood and were advised to visit this Chinese chippy. I must say the food was excellent and very competitively priced. Of course the three woman working in there have all the charm, presence and witty banter we've come to expect from staff in chinese chippies :-) Pity they don't have SMILE on the menu, I'd pay for one. All in all, if you're in the area - well worth a visit

Magdala chippy probably the best Chinese chippy in the world well in Heywood anyway the food is consistently excellent the staff are a model of efficiency and seem to know every customer by name from placing my order by phone to tucking in at home takes about 15 minutes kids do you fancy a magdala tonight yippee oops there goes my diet oh well that's it I'm all done happy eating

This chippy isn't too bad at all. It has all the regular Chinese dishes on the menu. Always plenty of customers in but the wait isn't bad as they have plenty of people working there.

Visitamos varias veces y siempre recibimos una buena comida. Esta noche fue la excepción, pedí un curry de ternera con patatas fritas y galletas saladas de gambas arroz frito, llegamos a la casa y encontré 2 arroz cocido y galletas saladas estaban rancios. Volver a conseguir papas fritas y me dieron una bolsa de pan de gambas pero estos también estaban rancios. Muy decepcionado, la comida era un poco fría. Pudo haber sido porque elegimos un antes de la cena (sobre las 17.40) normalmente es a las 8 de la tarde. Nunca tuve un problema antes, pero no comprar desde aquí a las puertas de nuevo

Been coming here for 20 years. The food here is the best. If it is cooked to order and perfection. The service is fab from the whole family. The prices are spot on too. Will not go anywhere else.

Opening times vary. Supposed to close at 23.00 but often have nothing left by 22.40. This has happened on several occasions now. 😈

We often have our takeaways from here and as yet have always had good food, sometimes a little too salty but most of the time very good

We always choose this place for a Chinese takeaway. Top salt & pepper chips. Consistent quality food. And friendly staff. Worth the extra couple of miles to get there.

It's the only chippy we'll visit in Heywood, chips are always great and the service is always friendly and polite.

Great place, doesn't take long to fulfill the order reasonably priced. Never had a problem here yet.

Hard to beat the fish - just enough batter, good size filet and fried on order. Chip portions are large so be careful asking for large if you are on your own.
