The food is really good, but I did have to go back as order missed an item

Just awful normally lovely re cooked greasy rock hard salt and pepper chips and special fu yung raw onion and chewy meat awful

I had Singapore fried rice Wife had egg foo young daughter had noodles, Very nice we enjoyed, we ordered a side order of salt and pepper chips which had been reheated and absolutely disgusting why would you do that completely let the meal down. Really disappointed for the sake of sending us fresh chips.

Ordered food over the phone for delivery. Receptionist repeated it to me but it still came wrong. Tried to blame me for saying it wrong. This is the second occasion this has happened. Took over 40 minutes for them to replace the order and then had the audacity to try and charge and then phone us up being aggressive. Would reccomend this place if you would like a lucky dip on what you order as the person on the phone cannot understand you, otherwise save your money and effort and go elsewhere!

Had a really bad experience, called them and ordered, repeated the order to make sure it was correct. The order came incorrect and we called them, to end up getting shouted at on the phone by them. Once they agreed to rectify the situation they took over 40 minutes to bring us the missing items. Once the missing items arrived, they asked us to then pay ( again ). We then got a phone call with abuse, I’m not sure why as we paid the first time. Terrible service. Wouldn’t recommend.

Been in a number of times now and the food has always been fresh and hot when I've collected. Obviously not a gourmet restaurant as it's a takeaway, great place for a low cost, tasty dish with a good size serving. Not many places left you can get a main dish with fried rice for £10. My only issue is that it's cash only, it would be nice for the choice if not more convenient for card too. But on the brightside there's a cashpoint over the road.

Really sad to say the food was absolutely awful, I ordered crispy chilli beef and it was slimy and just not good, the meat spring rolls were tasteless and just bad, I was recommended here and I’m sad to say I really Did not have a good experience. Sorry

Possibly the worst Chinese meal I've ever had. We decided to try lucky horse as a one off and wish we'd not bothered. The chicken was overcooked, hard and brown, it had clearly been recooked and was not fresh, prawn crackers were stale and inedible, the egg fried rice was dark brown and smelled quite chemically and the curry sauce was bright red, not what we expected to for nearly £20 worth of food. Most of the food went in the bin

Not much to say. They would only take cash. And both me and partner where very ill they day after, will not be going again to see if it was a one off

Used to be brilliant - been using for years - but latest order was terrible. Food quality has dropped off a cliff. They have no idea how to deal with customer complaints and made no effort to make up for our order being wrong as well as it being very poor quality. We’ll not be using them again.

Been using these for a long time. Like the open kitchen. Food is tasty. Delivery is quick. Wish they did tofu dishes which is why marked down a star

Very nice food, took ages to arrive. They said they had advised me it would be 45 minutes to an hour. They didn't, after 3 phone calls it arrived 1 hour 30minutes from ordering. Not happy, we were all very hungry & had to put meal in microwave as it wasn't hot enough.

Absolutley shocking service! Ordered a takeaway at 8.20pm. It didn't arrive and chased it, to be asked "what's wrong with the food". Told them that we hadn't actually received it and advised it will be five minutes. After another half an hour, chased it again to be told the order was just leaving. The best part of two hours waiting for a takeaway and being fobbed off with excuses. Needless to say we cancelled the order and won't be ordering there again in the future. Avoid if you're hungry and actually want your food to arrive!

Uses to be a lot better. Beef was inedible. Not tender at all, just a chewy piece of meat impossible to eat.

It was terrible I had bits of metal in my chicken curry and the curry looked off it was a red colour not brown like usual it tasted spongey too and the rice looked off and tasted it too like it’s been left open over night never again!!!

Dont buy sweet and sour chicken is very very sweet!!! My kids put in into bin. Egg fired rice is super brown from soya souse and I am not sure if I have seen any egg in it, how ever is edible. Chicken in black bean sauce is ok, we have enjoyed it. Hot and sour soup look and tase almost the same as souse for sweet and sour chicken, but had some extra things in it - very sweet again and I put in the bin. I love chinse food but this was very bad experien. I will not buy from them again unless they change chef. The place is quite cheap, they must increase prices in order provide better quality. The service is very nice and friendly. Hope they will read these all coments and do somthing about it as they are next door to me and I would love to have good chinse food near by.

I'd previously written a really positive review of this place, but after last night I doubt I'll be back. Don't order for delivery from these people, because it won't come for a very, very long time. Also, there crispy seaweed is completely unseasoned and gross. The mains are pretty good, hence two stars instead of one.

Deep fried shredded beef with chilli was inedible. Takeaway box contained deep fried beige strands of some sort of brittle batter that stank of fish - and tasted of fish. The batter was hollow! There was no beef inside at all. The chilli sauce tasted of chemicals more than chilli, not surprising as you can see from the photo it was mainly food colouring. Only ate one mouthful. Large pancake roll was served in a foil tray that was swimming in cooking oil, which also stank of stale fish. The pancake roll was large but sadly it contained no actual pancake - just a large, single sheet of filo pastry with anaemic soggy vegetables inside, smothered in the same fishy oil. Again, only tried one mouthful - then spat it out. I wasn’t expecting gourmet food, just a good honest takeaway. Both dishes were disgusting and didn’t contain what they should have!

Honestly the worst chines takeaway I've had. So bad I couldn't eat it. As you can see everything had lots of red food dye in it.even the Singapore vermicelli was red? And tasted very bland it is supposed to have a hint of curry taste and spicy it lacked both. The sechuan chicken was vey sweet and very red. it is supposed to be spicy with fresh chillies it was neither of these and it's the first time I've ever seen a red one. The deep fried chicken in chilli sauce was tasteless, gloopy and where were the chillies? The beef and GREEN Peppers in black bean sauce was spicy, had chillies in and had a few yellow peppers in but no green peppers and lots of onions. The Fried rice was not even fried! It was boiled rice with some soy sauce on it! Look at the pictures it's still White....Best place for it is in the bin....Do yourself a favour and Stick to Top Wok on Walthall street or Hings In Nantwich.

We ordered over the phone and the lady confirmed our address and said it would be 40 minutes. We waited an hour and a half for it to turn up. Only then did it turn up after we had gone past the point of being hungry for the man to STEAL FROM US! The Chinese costing £22.20. I gave him £30. He said he was going back to the car to get change. Then he never came back and drove straight off and left us with the Chinese to be cold and bland anyway. Absolutely furious!!!! And No one answers the phone not matter how many times we called. Appalling.

Shameful customer service from a rude ignorant woman. The rice was mushy and all stuck together.... was more like a rice paste. Salt and pepper chicken has definitely been re cooked. The curry sauce was disgusting. Will never be ordering from here again.

This takeaway makes nice food, however trying to get it is another story. First its probably the most popular takeaway in Crewe yet they only have one phone, once you eventually get through after 20 to 30 calls ( I usually go else where after 10 calls) they give you a delivery time usually 45, 60 or 80mins for delivery, YOU SHOULD ADD 30 TO 40 MINUITES to those times, however if you ring up to see where your food is, it is always on its way with no further times given. So if you want a meal from here order 3 hours before you want it.

Had a lovely Chinese takeaway from here. The woman answering was very efficient and gave the total cost within seconds. Delicious food and HUGE portions, all 3 of us were able to save some for the day after.

During the Covid 19 lockdown most shops and take always closed....as they started to reopen I tried many Chinese take aways around Crewe and Nantwich but none compared to the tasty and spicy food from Lucky Horse. I've been going there for years... The best around for miles!

I rang on Thursday evening at 6.45, to place an order of chicken in orange sauce and fried rice. The woman answering was very curt, impolite and off hand. I felt I was interrupting something. She said 10 mins I told her I’d be there in 25 mins. I arrived at 7pm due to light traffic. There was a couple waiting. The tv has been removed from the wall, no menus were available to take out, the wall menu had been amended with tippex and tape written over in pen, shabby and cheap looking. The glass counter was filled with large cardboard boxes contains cartons. My food was already prepared, in cartons and waiting for collection. I went to pay by card but she refused it, luckily I had cash. I was charged more than on display and what I had been quoted, as I was hungry I paid and left. As she passed me the food I noticed the work tops in the cooking area were covered with lots of bits of food as though a bag had burst.The food was covered in watery ‘sauce’ with small pieces of orange rind and 6 x half inch lumps of orange in it. It tasted like they were the only flavouring. There was more batter than chicken in the slices and the fried rice had an unpleasant strong peppery taste, in addition it was just warm. After a couple of mouthfuls I scraped the batter off the chicken and gave it the dog. The rest I threw away. A takeout is a rare treat for me, Lucky Horse would seemed to have changed hands as it’s been excellent for at least 10 years. I will not be returning.

Not our usual takeaway but thought we'd give it a try, worst decision I've made for a long time. Hugely disappointing when you're Friday night dinner goes straight in the bin. Never again!!!

The beef curry ordered as part of our takeaway was the worst my partner had ever had. It was red and tasted like a chicken tandoori sauce...out of a jar! It bore no resemblance whatsoever to a chinese curry! Very disappointing as the rest of the takeaway was ok. It certainly put me off ordering from there again.

Just visited this chinese in person placed and order get home to find they have given us the wrong food. Called them up to be called liars even though we both ordered soups and rice we ended up one rice one main meal and rice. Attitude stinks and was already arguing with a customer on the phone when we walked in. So wont be going back again... Steer clear

I've had takeaways from Lucky Horse for probably 20 years and it's gone down hill over the last year or so... and last nights meal was awful I rang for a delivery at just before 5pm and it arrived around 6 the special fries rice was tasteless and the beef curry was vile if it was beef it was chewy and not cooked and the chips were probably the days before... so unfortunately I will be looking for a new Chinese

Ordered from lucky horse yes the portion size is amazing but the food is absolutely disgusting! I wouldn't give it to a dog! I ordered two mixed meat chow main meals one chicken chow main meat delicious strips never got those!! The meals were slimy hardly no meat in and sent out a vegetable chow main!! I would never order vegetable I rang up the lady said she repeated it back to me twice that I ordered vegetable chow main when infact I ordered chicken!!! Over all review discusting! Missing meals and wrong meals sent out!! Please people avoid this place.

Decided to have a Chinese delivered for evening meal. Had a look on trip advisor, and the Lucky Horse has some good reviews. Well, I don’t know if they were having a bad night, but the food was dreadful... the crispy duck, was so burnt, it was black, and inedible. The chicken skewered satay, was also over cooked, and again so hard, it was tough and stringy. The prawn dish , had the tiniest, toughest prawns,,,, we thought we’d ordered king prawns. Also, the ribs must have been cooked over and over, couldn’t separate the meat from the bone. We ate hardly any of it, except the rice and some pineapple. I rang the Lucky Horse and spoke to the manager, who to be fair, was very apologetic, and offered to investigate, and send our money back. We had to give them some of the food, so he could take it to the chef, and ask for an explanation. True to his word, a driver turned up, within the hour, with a refund...

Best chicken balls. Big portion and very speedy. Also ordered curry sauce which was one of the nicest ive had. Im a regular customer here and am never dissatisfied. The batter on the chickeb was delicate and crispy on he outside that lead to a suculent piece of tender chicken on the inside causing my mouth to salivate and moip. OMG im in heaven i thought as i swallowed down my first bite and the rest if my meal continued to satisfy my international craving.

On the way home & decided a change from.our usual take out Chilli crispy beef very good Sweet & sour chicken excellent Chilli chicken I'd like it hotter Spring rolls excellent Good portions & pipping hot All in all we will be back.
