The food is really nice but very over priced and the staff are very un welcoming extremely rude and need a lesson in manners😡

There are so many things wrong here asides the good food. 1. No card payment. I had to walk all the way back to Salford Shopping Center to use the ATM to pay for my meal. 2. Ladies at the reception are so rude and condescending, I was just going to walk away bar my hunger 3. Twice the prices have been inflated despite the prize listing. Maybe this is my fault but update your price list 4. No cutlery is added to takeaway meals (twice now)..Imagine buying your meal on the go. Either pack some cutleries or eat with your hand. Food was great so clearly the cooks know their onions but the experience isn't worth it all.

I have had my takeaways from slow boat for 30 odd years.staff Alwsys very polite on the phone. Sometimes In a bit of a rush but that is because they are always very buisy. Which says it all. 😋👍🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

I bought a chicken fried rice and ended up with food poisoning that lasted for more than a week. I have never in my life been this ill from food before... The food itself tasted okay, but no food is worth making you ill.

Some of the family members working in the Takeaway are very very rude. They need customer care training and emotional intelligence.

I phoned for collection, they were verry polite, I asked about how good the food I was getting is and they engaged with me, a verry fast and filling process, then finally I eat the food, highly Recomend chicken in ok sauce, all that in about 20 mins.

Friendly staff great food what more can you ask for, verry human.

Very rude customer service, I place an order and the lady on the phone was just shouting telling me they about to close and I needed to come pick it up , I requested for it to be deliver and simply refused to deliver the food bcus of not having the right amount of change .. guy was so rude and drove off .. pls afford this place

The food is 5 stars. The only reason I gave 3 stars is their customer service, in particular the person that answers the call for deliveries. That woman is as rude as they come and needs to get another job! Multiple people have complained about her and dont order just cause of her attitude.

Don't listen to the negative reviews for Slow Boat, the food is delicious and the people serving are the friendliest ever and the portion sizes are very generous too. Try the salt and pepper ribs, best in the North West, we regularly eat here and are never disappointed.

So odd to see so many 1 star reviews. I’ve used Slow Boat for THIRTY years. Always great food, great value and clean. The best hot & sour soup. Rice is included with main meals, no extra charge. I’ve never had an issue with any of the staff,

I decided to place an order, however, the food was bland and was not as good as the one I had previously. I called to let them know politely but the lady on the phone had a very lackadaisical attitude. She couldn’t care less and had zero customer support empathy. Don't know about you but a bad customer service is a great recipe for distaste and a poor appetite

The salt and pepper Ribs are spot on red hot when they came and crispy 10 out of 10 delivery driver very friendly and nice overall one of the best chinese around

Food is ok nothing special, I find some of the staff unfriendly and was short changed last time I went, won’t be going back now, it’s a shame was great years ago.

Please do not use Slow Boat. Extremely rude with no interest in their customers. Rang to place an order and spoke to a very rude abrupt woman who clearly need to find another job. Immediately cancelled the order after been spoken to in such a disrespectful way. I would advise anyone to think before using Slow Boat they do not deserve your money. Which is a shame as it used to be a great place. I hope the rude person finds some happiness as they are clearly very sad.

Ordered at 5pm . Delivered wrong order accused me of ordering wrong. The girls a liar. Then 7.30 still waiting for food.. Very poor service.

Food wasn’t as good as the first time. We need a takeaway that is consistently good and reliable. The Chinese man who delivered it today came across as very miserable and impolite. I recommend he learn some manners and customer service skills. He does not know how to interact with customers. If you have a problem with being nice to people then leave your job!

My son has a peanut allergy so we found the staff most helpful, courteous and knowledgeable when ordering. Most importantly, not only did the food smell delicious but also tasted delicious. No complaints what-so-ever… just finally glad we found a great takeaway ☺️

This chippy sells most stuff that you would expect in a chip shop..from fish and chips to curry's....thay also sell Chinese gravey which is a nice change from traditional gravey..on road parking and there's a local shop next door to it aswell for other essential items..

Best Chinese food around. Me and all my family have been going here for years and years I travel from irlam and it’s well worth the travel. Ignore any bad reviews. The family who owns it are lovely people and very friendly. You certainly wouldn’t be disappointed with the slow boat.

Staff who takes the order over the phone is VERY VERY rude! Customer service is absolutely shocking! Rude on the phone. I asked why my order was a certain price and she proceeded to shout my order down the phone at me and wouldn't acknowledge verbally any changes I made. I called back to make sure and she hung up abruptly. Rude staff.

Very aggressive and rude staff. They clearly don't like their jobs and don't care about customers. The lady on the phone couldn't tell me what ingredients are in a dish. She snapped at me when I ask questions. It's not clear on the menu. Then the delivery driver god she has an attitude too. She was at the wrong building (I gave clear instructions btw the post code does get straight to the door) I walked over to another street to find her and she made me feel it was my fault and said wasted her time. I've never had any problems with delivery drivers finding my place. I would not recommend this place who are disrespectful towards customers. I'm going to the Golden Star instead much friendlier and normal.

Most rude lady taking orders. Disgusting customer service and worst and most bland Chinese food I’ve ever had. I wanted to swap my boiled rice with egg fried rice and she rushed me saying she can’t swap it because my order is ready and rushed me out of the shop. Of course when I got home, she forgot my MAIN course (my order was obviously not ready when she said it was). The option are very limited as well. Worst Chinese to date for sure!

Been going here for 30 yrs and tonight I was disgusted by the way one of the girls spoke to me. She was extremely aggressive and would definitely be sacked in a regular resturant. She was so rude and upset me so much that I made a mistake with the order and when I returned to correct it she was aggressive again and said “everyone in here is aggressive not just me”. Then a male appeared from the kitchen and I felt threatened. Disgusting behaviour from a load of youngsters working in a chippy that used to be a nice family business.

Rude staff, horrible food. The batter on the fish was so thick it wasn't cooked throughout and was a wet, soggy mess! The chips were greasy and nearly cold. Far better takeaway food in the area. I won't buy from this place again.

Rang up to place an order - extremely rude from the get go rushing my order - asked for a potion of “chicken spring rolls” as when I placed my order last time with them I asked for my usual duck spring roll - the gentlemen I spoke to explained they only do “chicken spring rolls” she practically shouted when she tried to stated they’re not on the menu- I explained this is what I was told I would have to order the other day and she said well that wasn’t me speaking - her attitude was an absolute disvheace I called back to ask for management - she stated she was management - I asked for her name and she ended the call - I am absolutely appalled at the way I have been spoken to, I have heard about this particular woman before but never experienced the disgusting rudeness until today - will never be ordering again - be careful if you order and give a slight wrong product off the menu down the phone - she may spit in your food as she was definitely frothing at the mouth the way she spoke to me

Awful staff rude couldn't have what I wanted of the menu as told it was to late it was 6pm don't close till 11pm told there was a 20min wait when asked where my food was 40mins later I was told I had to be patient!!!! When I eventually got our food home a 5min drive it was cold and tasteless certainly won't be going there again an over priced tasteless meal.

This is the first time I've used this place in a long time. I only used them because the Golden Star is closed. The food was quite bland and OMG what is wrong the staff?? They have really bad attitude problems. I'll be sticking to the Golden Star in future. Better food and much politer staff.

Love this place been going since I was a child

We ordered a large mixed variety of food for our large new year party and once again the food was tasty hot and ready exactly on time. Highly recommended. We order from here each and every week and the quality of the food is always excellent and tasty

Gone off from its heyday living on past reputation.

Poor customer service. Called in on Sunday for a takeaway order. Got home half a meal missing. Rang them and was told they'd replace it next time. Called in and was now told they don't owe me anything. Just fobbed me off. Yet still expected me to order again. If you want to be laughed at when they make a mistake, then go there.

Not been here for a while. Used to love it. Now don't like it.. Rude young girl behind counter. Talkin n shouting to someone in the back while tryin to take my order. Askin what I want while I'm lookin at the menu Portion chips more like half a portion. Wouldn't even fill my child. Curry was like water, chow mein noodles were dry. Waste of money

Been here many times and the food has always been the tastiest Chinese food I have had compared to any other (and I have tried many others). They have always treated me with respect and the service has always been with a smile. I’ve got to know them well and I will continue to come. Thank you to all at Slowboat :)
