First time that I have ordered from here, and have to say that the food was excellent. Really tasty, the rice wasn't stodgy, the chicken balls weren't greasy, everything was very good, and piping hot. The delivery guy was very friendly and we were not waiting long from doing the online order to delivery. Thanks for a really tasty meal. Will definitely use again.

We are tourists. My son loves fried rice, and after seeing some reviews praising the fried rice, I decided to order it along with fried noodles, ginger and spring onion beef, chili tofu, and chicken curry. My son said this is the best fried rice he has ever had.

The food is lovely, but very over priced and the girl on the front desk very abrupt and unfriendly. No people skills whatsoever. Off putting

We have used for years, this evening egg fried rice inedible, chips recooked from last night it seems. Will be a while now before I go back again

Ordered kung-po chicken which in every other chinese comes with battery bits of chicken and this came with watery sweet and sour sauce with a bit of chilli taste,think I was disappointed with same dish a few years ago from same place ,never again for me.ps 3 of the egg fried rice's missing from order too ROLL ON CHINESE OPENING UP AGAIN IN COLLEGE STREET FOR PROPER CHINESE

Horrendous. Asked for king prawn curry because Im a pescatarian, they gave me mixed meat curry, it says king prawn on the box so poured it onto my plate with noodles to see there's 1 prawn, loads of beef and chicken. Called up, they said we have to come back and they can replace the curry but refused to replace the noodles (even though they now had meat all over them so I couldnt eat it). Didnt bother going back, just chucked it in the bin. The salt and pepper chips were just normal chips and the crispy chilli beef had no sauce, just bits of beef? Not your average Chinese take away, grubby with bad food! Save your money :)

Made a large order with items missing. Easy mistake and could be made by anyone. When I called, I was accused of LYING. Not sure why I’d lie about 2 items missing for an order that was over £100? I found this extremely offensive and the staff were rude. I’ve driven all the way back to get the items that were initially missing and they’ve given us something completely different. Will never order here again, been left offended and unsatisfied for how much money we have paid for the food. Disgraceful.

We went in to order on 23/12/23 and the person taking the orders was very rude and can’t really be bothered. This is the second time we have walked away from here and got food elsewhere. We have been on several times before and the food and service has been good, however when this person is working it is all downhill. She gives the impression that you are an inconvenience to her and it is quite clear that she doesn’t want to be there. We will not be returning again.

Recently started using Golden Pool and now we won't go anywhere else! Very tasty food, friendly staff and reasonably priced :)

Extremely disappointed this evening, had a Chinese from here a few weeks ago and was really really good, now tonight had same order and is terrible, dry ribs over cooked beef nothing is edible disappointed. Even passed another chaps order for us to walk away with. 21 November 2023

Zamówiłam z menu słodko kwaśne krewetki balls i domówiłam ryż gotowany . Same krewetki były nawet niezłe , ale sos to jakieś nieporozumienie . Sos był podany osobno ( pomijając fakt, że było też bez żadnych warzyw jak na zdjęciu w menu) sos był obrzydliwy . Ryż był stary i smażony mimo, że zamówiłam zwykły. Ogromne rozczarowanie, za te pieniądze jem tysiąc razy lepsze jedzenie. Nie wrócę tu na pewno

Don't order in advance, or maybe not at all. Phoned at 4:30pm for pickup at 5:30pm. On arrival and queing for 10min, once I gave the order name they only started cooking it then. Waited for 35min. Never again.

Had a very nice sweet & sour chicken dish. Yet to try other dishes but hopefully they will be as nice.

I suffer from anxiety, and their place is such a nice quiet place with a friendly atmosphere, and the food is great every time. I definitely recommend them.

Don’t know what’s happened to this Chinese, it honestly used to be the best around! However after our most recent visit, we all noticed changes to dishes that have left the food appalling and unsatisfying. Will not be returning

Just popped in for a pancake roll ( awesome ) my friend had salt & pepper chicken chips and curry sauce , all were excellent , sorry i didn't take a photo 😐 but we were starving 😅

This is by far the best Chinese in Cornwall the 4 in Redruth can’t even cook a chow mien and GQ in caharrack are so expensive like £4.70 for chick sweetcorn soup where it’s £3.00 at golden pool don’t go anywhere else this is the best Chinese I’ve ever had

Well we went to golden pool tonight in Camborne because golden koi in redruth isn't open wednesdays, we asked for sausage and chips, Got 1 sausage with the chips, Singapore noodles, chicken and pineapple, 1 bag of chips and prawn crackers, £25 it cost, I thought well its a lot more than we normally pay but oh well its going to be nice, We got home looking forwards to our meal and found the chips were like rubber, the Singapore noodles were stodgy as anything and looked like they'd been thrown in in bin the taken back out again and my partner isnt normally a fussy eater but even she did not like any part if her chicken and pineapple, the sauce was not nice and the chicken was like rubber, iv herd a lot of good reviews for this place but if that's the quality of the food they are producing then I'm never going to go back, Nor will I ever recommend it,, £25 in the bin for us

Food was bland, the fried rice had almost no colour.

What a disappointment!! Gave us the wrong food and what we did get was bland and tasteless. Definitely not worth the money. The lady even read the order back to us and they still messed it up. Never again.

The amount of salt used as an ingredient is shocking, the moment it hits the taste buds all you can taste is salt, salty beef salty chicken, salty prawns, basically is a salty curry, no wonder they call it a special curry. Will not be returning due to dehydration.

Eaten twice here in the last 6 months. Me and my partner had food poisoning we thought we'd then try again and give it the benifit of the doubt. My partner has cripsy shredded chicken and there was loads of tiny crushed up bone in the dish! Definitely not eating here again, such a shame its been my favourite Chinese for years.

The food here is amazing, I have been going to this takeaway for over twenty years as an adult and when I was a child living at home. I have tried other Chinese takeaways but they pale in comparison to golden pool, they take such pride in their food and how its cooked. I especially love their chicken balls

It’s a while since I’ve had a takeaway, recently Chinese food has been greasy and gloopy. Not here really enjoyed salt and pepper chicken with noodles, perfectly cooked and very tasty. Other folk had the duck special and sweet & sour chicken all approved. Generous portions too. We will try it again soon...

This is by far the best Chinese takeaway in Cornwall! I've lived in Camborne for over 20 years and me and my family always go to this one as its always the best. Ignore the outdated decor, appearances can be deceiving. The food always comes out piping hot and the staff are always friendly and efficient. They don't deliver but you can phone your order in and they tell you when to collect it.

This takeaway only restaurant is not much more than a hole-in-the-wall, with an associated waiting room. We visited twice while staying in the area and were mostly pleasantly surprised by the food we received. Although the chicken and roast pork fried rice was pretty bland, both the vegetable fried rice and the satay chicken were delicious. Seemed reasonably popular on both the visits I made.

Best Chinese in Cornwall as far as I'm concerned not delivered due to the fact they are so popular and I would recommend shredded chilly beef sweet and sour Cantonese stye and young Chow fried rice but everything here is good.

Ordered 1/2 crispy duck as is my partners fave and had to throw it away as the duck was green and horrible. It has happened a couple of times from here and I won't be making that mistake again. Not worth the money

Second time we’ve had food missed off our meals. We’ve not only had to go back and get it we’ve also not had any compensation or anything offered as they’ve messed up! Really poor service will not be using again and I wouldn’t recommend.

Sometimes it’s nice to have a change of Chinese take away, to discover something new or just for a change... Only had a handful of meals from The a Golden Pool in camborne, and have never personally rated them... but the others on the family like them.There isn’t a delivery service so pick up is required. The young lady at the counter is very friendly and very helpful with ordering, as different Chinese have variations in their meals. She is on hand to clear up confusion.Didn’t wait too long... Food was average, nothing couldn’t eat, but it lacked in places. The family enjoyed it... and sure we will order again.

Went for our take away, waited for an hour. Others who had also ordered had to wait over three quarter of an hour before it was cooked. The food was taste less.

I love this take away. Really polite service and scrummy food. Tonight I had vegetables in black bean sauce which was delicious. Piping hot, full of fresh tasty veg. Service was prompt and I particularly liked that the young lady said she hoped I enjoy my meal as she handed it to me with a lovely smile. Highly recommend.

Ok this is one one star to many traveled down from Durham and fancied a Chinese so googled and this one came out with best ratings so decided to go there what a big mistake.Ordered chicken curry chicken chow mien chicken fried rice and sausage and chips and what I got was the biggest waste of money I have every paid for food which was only fit for the bin. The curry tasted disgusting and the chicken was dark meat the chow mein was laughable layered with the noodles at the bottom all over cooked. The chips where reheated dry like cardboard and you got one sausage that was put in with the chips. I asked for onions in the gravy and I got either frozen or jarred onions not fresh put into a watery gravy. Don’t think I’ll have another meal down here if this was the best in the town think you should try one back in Durham you might be able to eat it .

I've heard good things about this Chinese.... I popped in as they don't do deliveries... chips and curry sauce... sweet and sour chicken and egg fried rice... after I ordered I stepped outside to check car was ok (dodgy parking) ... then stepped back in and meal was all bagged up ready to go... about 45seconds..... bloody quick I said... in fact too quick ... presumably a microwave job... food was awfull... nevser again!!!!!
