Shocking service. Placed an online order at 6:30pm and we are still sitting here at 9:10pm waiting. Called them several times to enquire where the order is and was told they are short staffed. This we would have tolerated more if we were made aware of this at the start of the order. We are a family who very rarely has takeaways and this has reinforced the reason why we don’t have them often. Will not be returning or recommending.

Waited 1hr 50mins for barely warm food which i had to microwave. NOT a way to retain custom. Terrible customer experience. Weak apology is all i received, aside from the lukewarm food that is. 2/10. A shame because normally very good.

Have been using these the last several times we have had a Chinese, comes piping hot and normally around an hour after ordering. For us they do the best sweet and sour, Hong Kong style chicken. Very generous portions and the chicken always tastes fresh and tender. All the normal things like chow mein, egg fried rice, curry, fu young are all nice as well.

Normally very good, however I've seen a decline in their quality. Had guests round so ordered our evening meal. Spare ribs were burnt and with very little meat on them. One small bag of crackers that came part of my set meal and nothing more even though spent over 50 quid. Charged me for 5 bags at 50p each. The whole meal came in one bag. rip off. Rice had a lot of oil in the bottom. Chicken in yellow bean sauce was burnt and dry. Chow mein tasted burnt. I do hope they improve.

Best chinease in Ashford and we travel from folkestone to get this always a welcome when we visit great tasty food would highly recommend.

Food took 1hr45mins to arrive. Wasn't hot and one dish was tasteless. Even had the cheek to charge for 5 carrier bags, was delivered in 1 bag..... Won't use again unfortunately.

Awfull, overpriced and cold! Tight with portions, noodles all stuck together, no prawn crackers, never again! Don’t Waste your money

Delivery driver was very polite and nice. Food was dry. And tasteless. Chicken balls were dry and over crispy. The chips tasted and looked like they were yesterday's old reheated. Spring roll was supposed to be large and as you can see it is over cooked and dry. Spent over £60 and may have just burnt it. It was the worst I have had in such a long time. Will not be using again. Such a shame

Upon eating the chow mein, my wife spat out what looked like an individual strand of metal from a scouring brush. Not being completely sure if perhaps it came from the kitchen while transporting the food to dishes, we carried on eating, suspiciously. A few mouthfuls later and a check of the leftovers in original packaging. Offered only a refund on the chow mein and not the £20 delivery charge. Still feeling a bit ill at what I did eat. Avoid!!!!!!!!

The food was delicious, however the service was not great. We went to collect the food and when we left I realized that we do not have any cutlery, so I went back to ask for forks and I was shocked to find out that they charge 10p per one plastic fork! I did not have any change, so I paid 30p for 3 forks by card .. no napkins (I guess if you are willing to pay for them they will provide some, did not ask though 🤦🏻‍♀️) … they charge for the tiny bag they put the food in.. I am sure that they will make more money from the happy customers that would return, rather than the ridiculous charges for basic take away items..

Bland food..soggy rice..undertone of rancid fat..just awful

This is a Chinese takeaway, they are always quite sharp when they answer the phone and talk to you like your stupid and don’t know what your talking about, but they open on a Monday so that’s why I started using them, at first the food was good and although the pancake rolls are made with filo pastry which my husband doesn’t like we still ordered a couple of times on Mondays, well, week 1 fine, week 2 food a bit cold, today food absolutely stone cold, and quarter chicken breast ordered which should hold the heat, obviously they wait for enough orders for driver to deliver but you are paying for that anyway! Tried to call numerous times but lines engaged so can’t tell them what an awful takeaway it was! Prawn crackers complimentary but that’s worthless because they are stale and taste like they were made 3 days ago! All in all attitude stinks, food cold, customer service non existent so don’t bother! Better off anywhere else at least some takeaways are grateful for your money

We order he alot but feel the last few times of ordering something has gone down hill. The last 4+ times the chicken or prawn balls have been oily and very dark like old oil or something reported it for this order but still the same and we didnt even get our sweet n sour sauce. Pancake roll again reported this order as last time there was approx 15ml of oil swimming in the bottom of the bag but again was not better this order wasn't even crispy just oily and soft due to the oil very disappointing as the food used to be spot on everytime. The squid not edible this time and smelt a little funny think it's time to try somewere else as we have given benefit of doubt several times now

Ordered a few times thinking maybe it's just hit and miss. Just awful. Balls are burnt. Green scally sponge stuff on the chips. Ended up with dodgy stomach. Reheated chips and the satay skeweres where obviously reheated too. Just awful

Popped in there on a last minute decision. Ordered the B2 set meal for 2 and everything was really good. Spring rolls, crispy duck with pancakes, beef, chicken and rice dishes. Spicy, tasty and great value. Was pleasantly surprised. Thank you.

Waiting for a takeaway is a joke Ordered at 6.30 rang up to enquire where our meal was at 8.40. Told its a 2 hour wait hmmm over the 2hours. Finally turned up at 9.15 and the we had to prove we’d paid for it …seriously? Never again!!!

I have been using this takeaway for years never had a bad meal from there always good however there delivery service is not very good always pays to go and pick up youself then you will not be disappointed

As a family living near by, after a death in the family they gave us one free meal. Very kind and always remembered. Thank you to previous owners in 1992.

We have used this Chinese several times before and not had too much of an issue but this time round we waited 2 hours for delivery after placing the order bang on 5pm when they open. The food arrived cold, the chicken balls were burnt and so oily we ended up throwing them in the bin! The chow mein was disgusting, tasteless and cold. The salt and chilli chicken was so salty it was inedible! Very disappointed after paying £4 delivery when we live 10 mins away to receive cold tasteless food, also the delivery man was drunk!! Won't be using ever again!

What a joke. Ordered loads of times to this restaurant for delivery and waited 2 1/2 hours for our takeaway. Chased several times and then all they do is put phone down. To top it all they have now delivered our food to the wrong address. So waited all this time and no food. Trying to get a refund is so hard work. Avoid this restaurant like the plague. Never going back to them again.

The food here is always good. I’ve ordered dozens of times and it’s one of the better Chinese takeaways in Ashford. The only issue really is the slightly longer waiting time although this may be due to the frequency of orders.

Ordered a take away delivery. My partner ordered spare ribs and the sauce was leaking and got into my egg fried rice - I am vegetarian so could not eat the rice. They automatically charged for two bags but it was all crammed into one bag. There is also a £2 charge for paying by debit card. Won’t use them again.

Had a lovely takeaway from here this evening, hot and fresh lovely flavours and the duck spring rolls were amazing. Delivery time was great appreciate it's not a Friday or Saturday but was given a time and arrived well within it. Will definitely be ordering again thanks guys!

Ordered food at 6.10 told 3 hours which was fine for delivery 4.30 Hrs later no food phone engaged not great, I do understand being busy however if you state a time abs it’s delayed maybe call to inform the customer

Just nipped in whilst that way, unplanned little takeaway . Sweet and sour king prawn balls were very very good. The reason I have given 3 stars is because you have to pay extra for the little carrier bag .. seems a bit mean..

Lovely Chinese takeaway always good food

Ordered last night for the family (5 people). Very communicative, polite customer service, was told 90mins for delivery (we understand that its busy) actually showed up in 30 mins ***WOW*** :) All dishes were absolutely brilliant, full of meat and flavor however the 4* only due to the special chow main, which was the least tasty out of all the Chinese we have ordered over the years (sorry - being honest, maybe matter of taste, or maybe some space for improvements). I will definitely order again and would highly recommend :)

Ordered from here many times and usually good, they deliver too which is great! Whilst I was away on holiday, my hubby ordered £90 worth of food and most of it went in the bin, the beef was awful according to my son, only fit for the bin, the crispy duck(which isn’t a cheap dish), in fact most of it wasn’t it’s usual good standard.We don’t want to risk it again.

Ordered from here as I do every Friday. Got a special chow mein. I toll the first fork full and without even chewing spat it back on my plate! Rang to let them know. Was asked what it tasted of and I said awful. Was told nothing they could do as I could not explain the taste!! No dinner for me!!We will now be using another take away every week. We normally use this Chinese every Friday with no issues and good tasting.We ordered a chow mien and curry ( curry was fine) my wife took the first mouthful of the chow mien and spat it back out because of horrible taste.Contacted them to raise the issue and because we couldn’t explain the horrible taste was told” no one else had complained there’s nothing they could do” Top customer service Not .If you don’t want my money I’m sure someone else does.

I have had a lovely meal every time but tonight it was awful I was so disappointed the chicken was tepid and the porkchow mein was cold and burnt the prawn crackers where so dry there was crack to them. The reason I have not dropped star rating is I hope this is just the one off.sorry guys you are normally the best Chinese around ashford.

Food is good but how they think waiting three hours for a delivery is an absolute joke. Come in guys up your game there's plenty of good places to eat in Ashford and you guys are falling behind!

Despite not being the closest , this is the takeaway we have as a go to treat . The food is tasty and the meat is good quality and plentiful . The portions are big enough to have left overs - not that common in our house ! The lemon chicken is the best , zesty and tender and a huge portion . The Singapore noodles are beautiful and we really enjoy the crispy duck and pancakes .The waiting time may be a bit longer at times , but well worth it .

We had brilliant food, customer service and speedy delivery from Lams Garden tonight, it really is the best Chinese takeaway we have had in Ashford in a long, long time. We accidentally placed our order twice (entirely our fault) and the Lams Garden team were quick to call us and put things right, offering a full refund immediately. The food was delivered quickly and was hot, full of flavour and packed to the brim (highly recommend the duck noodles and short-spare ribs- yum!). There is a note on the website that orders may take longer than normal due to the increase in demand caused by the pandemic- entirely reasonable and we had no problems with this. Delivery was still prompt and earlier than expected (which is saying something for a Friday evening!) Overall our experience was excellent and I’d highly recommend eating here!

Ordered at 17:30, arrived 4 hours later. Food was cold when it eventually arrived, never been so grateful for a microwave. Service is horrendous, phone engaged the whole night!!! Shouldn’t keep taking orders if your unable to cope with demand! Ordering elsewhere in future.

I do like the food here but enoughs enough with the deliveries, we ordered once before Xmas and once on NYE which granted are busy but both times food took over 4hrs to arrive, no warning on the waits no contact just waiting and phones not answered. Poor service if you are that busy then stop taking orders!

Normally good however ordered at 6.05pm on NYE and it didn’t arrive until 10.40pm. Food tasted nice but I never expected it to take over 4 hours to be delivered!!

Was recommended to use Lams by a friend who came round, food was fine and delivery time came within time (with 4 peoples worth of food) but experience was disappointed by rude delivery driver complaining to me about how difficult my road is to drive up? All this while he was holding a tray of food, so I assume he wanted to keep the tray and so I start taking the individual items out and the he rudely asks if he can put the tray down, I said of course I'm sorry and then he put it on the ground and just walked away ignoring me asking him whether wanted to keep the tray. I was in shock as any other food delivery has just dropped it at my door, rang the bell and then left with no issue. It felt like he hung around specifically to moan at me at something that wasn't my fault as I have no control over how narrow my road is (which actually you can easily reverse up and down it if you're a competent driver!) Like I said, fine food, no complaints with placing my order but things like this really can put you off. I'll be going back to my usual chinese from now on.

Had a takeaway last night from Lams Garden. The food was hot and good value for money with 4 eating for just under £40! This was too much food for us as well! The Rendang is extremely good! Best Chinese in Ashford for me👍

We had ordered from Lams Garden before but not since before lockdown. It was a Friday night but the food came within 25mins of ordering and was super hot. As always it was tasty and plentiful

When it arrived it was so delicious and plenty of food! Would highly recommend! The family and I ordered a takeaway from Lam’s Garden. After spending 10 minutes going through the order because the bloke on the phone kept telling me to “HANG ON” and walking off from the phone I finally managed to place my order. At the end of this I was told it would be two hours for delivery. I questioned this and he claimed he had to say up to two hours but wouldn’t be that long. He then confirmed my order two more times and we awaited our delivery. Two hours later the meal is delivered. After this long wait we were ready and raring to go, only to find one of the main dishes was missing. I instantly called him and he said he will cook another one up and get it delivered straight away. I informed him that we had dishes out our dinners and how are they going to cook up a new dish and deliver it to me ready for us to eat. I requested they still deliver it (out of principle) and requested a refund for the dish on top. They refused and said can only do one or the other. In the end they refunded me a whole £2-40 for ruining our meal which we spent a fortune on. Anyway we tucked into the food whilst awaiting the missing dish, and it was colder than most of the items located in my fridge. This was highly frustrating after waiting this long and spending a fair amount of money and missing a dish we were left unbelievably disappointed. I would not recommend this place at all. Poor food, slow, unhelpful, massively overpriced and cold. A bad combination on all parts of you are spending money on a takeaway. Lesson learnt for us though and crossed off the list to ever use again, with the menu now firmly at the bottom of our wheelie bin.

I placed an order over the phone as a birthday meal for my daughter. This place isn't particularly cheap and it wasn't until after I'd placed the order and paid that the guy on the phone told me that delivery would be within 2 hours. I wasn't happy about this but I can understand that they are probably busier than normal during the Covid 19 crisis and I would just have to suck it up.After 2 hours the delivery had still not arrived. I left it a further 30 minutes before calling them again to ask where the food was. The guy on the phone said that the kitchen were just finishing my order now and delivery would be a further half an hour. I told him I was not prepared to wait 3 hours for my delivery and requested he cancel my order. Suddenly he says "oh actually your order has already left and is on the way to you so you can't cancel it". An absolute lie which he made up to avoid losing any money. We then waited a further 30 minutes and the food finally arrived. By the time we'd eaten and tidied up there wasn't much of an evening left and it was time for bed.The food was actually ok but we were all past it by this time and no one was particularly hungry anymore so it turned out to be a complete waste of time and money.

I was recommended by a friend to order from this chinese, so last night we decided to try it...big mistake! We couldn’t get through on the phone (should have given up at this point) but saw on their menu and Facebook page that you can easily order online. On their website there was a message saying please allow up to 2 hours for delivery due to the current lockdown, which we thought was reasonable so we ordered online. After ordering we received an email to confirm the payment, but it still was not very clear if they had received the order. Around 1hr 45mins after ordering, the food had not arrived, so we decided to try and phone just to confirm they had received the order. We could not get through to them and we tried both phone numbers multiple times. 3 hours after ordering we have eventually got through and by this point it was 22:06. When the man answered the phone he said ‘delivery or collection’ so they were still taking orders at this point, baring in mind the restaurant was about to close. I’ve explained that we ordered online and gave him our address to check. He said the order was still going to be at least a 90 minute wait and there were people in the queue in front of us who had been waiting 4-5 hours! I can’t believe at this point they were still trying to take new orders, as they obviously could not cope with the amount of orders they already had!! I asked why they hadn’t phoned us to update us that there was a massive wait for food (we could have possibly collected if they had updated us, or cancelled and ordered elsewhere!) and the man said the landlines were too busy to make calls.... have they not heard of mobile phones?! Good customer service and curtesy would be to keep the customers updated. They should have also stopped people from being able to order online as they clearly couldn’t cope with the amount of orders! It appears they just wanted to make as much money as possible and didn’t care about the customers. So we cancelled our order and will now have to wait 5 working days for a refund. After working a ten hour shift as key workers it was not a great end to the day! I appreciate they were very busy as it was a Friday night and a lot of people would have just been paid, however they should have made the effort to contact customers to update them and they should have stopped taking new orders!!! Extremely disappointed with the service provided. I’ve never eaten from this restaurant so I can’t review the food, however due to this very poor level of service we will never be ordering from here again. I think sadly they will have lost a lot of customers after last night!

I ordered food at 18:30 the guy on the phone said it would be up to 3hrs as they are so busy when it reached that time limit I tried to call. They then called me when it reached to 4hrs to then tell me they had ran out of half of my order! When asked what they would do about this they said they could give me 10% off my next order which their wouldn’t be. He refused to give me a refund and told me I had to wait up to another hour for my food to be delivered. I spoke to the manager and he was still not sure what to do and kept offer 10% off. I wouldn’t recommend ordering from them and if they miss anything they are useless with helping

Ordered online. Receipt sent to email. Ordered at 7.26pm, 2 and a half hours later eventually got through on phone. Another 90mins to wait. Key worker, been up since 3.30am. Thanks Lam’s will never use you again, couldn’t even be arsed to ring and say you couldn’t keep up with orders. Idea for you....... Ring people on the mobile number they have given you, explain that you can’t keep up with the orders. Give them some information, could have at least then had time to cook something. Turn your phones off would be another idea. Catch up with online orders. Think outside the box. Now 22.28pm and off to bed as not hungry anymore and completely hacked off with stupid business’s/people. Oh, and apparently have to wait over 5 days for a refund. One hand clapping for you.

It got to Friday in lockdown and my little boy was fixated on Chinese take away, I told him he’d be lucky! After 5 minutes of trying we got through and placed our order, said it would be 90 minutes which I expected. 25 minutes later our hot, tasty and spot on Chinese was delivered by a sweet and polite guy and my little boy was over the moon! A treat and bit of normality in weird times. And always tastes great. Thank you!

First time using lams garden tonight, the man who took my order was brilliant and even when I rang back as thought I'd forgotten something was so polite and read everything back to me. The food arrived within the hour and was absolutely amazing fresh and hot. The delivery man was brilliant too left it on door step stood back and gave me a thumbs up when I got it. I even rang them after eating and spoke to the manager she was lovely too. Will eat from there again. And would highly recommend them as they are reasonably priced too.

The menu is massive 100's of dishes which is worrying they can't be fresh. Verry large portions on very average food.

Phoned New Year’s Day, 1 minute after opening - was told it would be a 75 minute wait, I clarified this and confirmed the order - address, price etc all confirmed. 90 minutes later I phoned to find out where our food was only to be told they did not have details of my order. No apology, was told they best they could do’ was bring the order ‘quickly’, which would take a further 45 minutes.....no offer of discounted meal or anything. My friend had to go back home to London and so could not wait any longer. The person that could not find my order was the very same person I made the original order with and could not care less for the cock up. Will not order from here again. This could have been resolved with some good customer service but clearly Lam’s Garden are not bothered at all.

Used to be amazing, now only good, I think there must be new owners as the quality has dropped slightly. We will still use them but would hope they can climb to the previous years heights.

We were recommended lams-garden for our Chinese takeaway by friends. We phoned at 6.15 on a Saturday evening and the person who answered took our order and repeated back and then told us around 60-75 mins which was fine.

My partner and I regularly visit this place after a late night at work. The service is good, easy to order and they are very helpful and informative especially over the phone. The chowmein (both normal noodles and rice noodles) is amazing! The curry sauce is spot on! My partner loves the chicken satay sticks, he says they are very tasty! And I LOVE the duck spring rolls. The lady encouraged me to buy them when they first introduced them and now I order them every time. They are also very quick. The prices are quite good too! DEFINITELY RECOMMEND!

Had a beef curry last night with a spring roll...beef was tasteless..curry sauce watery and spring roll foll of grease ...could not eat it threw it in bin

A true gem, Lams Garden is back to its very best with authentic tasty piping hot Chinese food. Since under new ownership, the takeaway has been refreshed and the menu expanded with a wide comprehensive choice for everyone.

We booked a takeaway from Lam's Garden yesterday evening. There were 12 of us eating, which included several young people. The meal was delivered on time and was very well-presented and was good value. we will use Lam's Garden again.
