Absolutely delicious food! Best Chinese in Ashford

4 hours, ordered as soon as they opened. Still waiting. Said an hour ago it was being cooked. Run out of rice but not egg fried rice??

Not delivered after 3.5 hours of waiting and they won't pick up the phone. Update. We ordered food at 5:00 PM. After trying to call over 50 times, the food was delivered to us at 9:30 PM. We waited 4.5 hours!! The order was incomplete and several items were missing. Unfortunately, there was no way to call the restaurant to find out where the missing dishes we paid for , no one answered the phone!

No food no answer, the reply is also completely inaccurate , I made 72 calls to the restaurant at no point did they call me , the food out of stock is also incorrect as about a further hour later the full Order arrived which we refused as we had other food delivered from a competitor

Ordered at 9pm the night before for a 6.30pm delivery on Christmas Eve. At 6.50 the food hadn’t arrived so I called. They told me they were still cooking it. No apology just that it would be another half hour. Food finally arrived at 7.25 as I unpacked it I realised part of the order was missing. Eventually get through on the phone and no real apology offered just asking if I wanted a refund or the food delivered. It’s now 8pm the food hasn’t been delivered and they aren’t answering the phone. Awful service.

Awful ruined my Xmas ordered was an hour late then told another hour mate and it was my problem to feed my children not there’s on Xmas eve absolute Joke

horrible store, customer service horrible, can’t even pick up a phone! don’t order here, they will not give you an update on your order or even deliver your food

Update: She is still not back and the staff I have spoke to have no idea who I am talking about. I can only conclude she is not returning. My neighbours spoke to Gah Wah a couple of weeks ago, regarding their concerns over the deterioration of food etc, and gave them yet another chance, however it was still poor. We will no longer be using Gah Wah as it's no longer any good. We are gutted. Previous Review: This used to be our favourite Chinese. Unfortunately the female manager/owner has been away for a few weeks, consequently, it has deteriorated, a lot. There is no return date for her currently. Under her watch, the food was amazing and if it wasn't (occasionally there was an error) she rectified it quickly. She never tried to dismiss your concerns, she never doubted your concern and was always warm, friendly, approachable and knowledgeable about her food and customers. She truly was very unique. She is greatly missed. There are a few of us in my road who used to use Ga Wah and like me have had poor service and meals since she has been absent. We have had to either go without or find another take-away. We have found another good one, but it isn't quite as good as Ga Wah used to be. We are gutted that we can't use Ga Wah. We are now ringing ahead to see if she has returned before we place an order. Last Wednesday she was not back. Food is currently not being cooked properly, not being flavoured properly, has a long delivery wait time and when calling to rectify this, there is little if any improvement. As well as this food notes on the order are being ignored or mis-read. This could be life threating for some people who have allergies. Although calling ahead is better in this situation for ordering food. At the very least it could be making people ill. When I was asked why I was not using Ga Wah until the manager/owner was back, there was no attempt to fix the situation, to take it onboard or to apologise etc. Or at least that's how I felt. I have seen a few others complaining about the food recently. I really hope that Ga Wah can survive until she is back, but unless these concerns are addressed quickly this may be unlikely. It's such a shame as the food and service was usually outstanding. We use to recommended them to many people who enjoyed their food. I hope that it returns to our favourite Chinese soon. I hope that all is okay with the manager/owner and that things improve for her soon. She is greatly missed. I hope that I can update this on her return.

Tried to find out if the lady manager was back off her long extended break of a few months, as without her the food is abysmal. I know she wasn't back a couple of weeks ago as our neighbours regretted trying it again. It was horrible food again despite passing their concerns on to the Chinese about trying it again. They too tried to find out if she was back as I have tried to find out several times if she is back, usually I get told she's due back but they don't know when. This time they didn't even know who I was on about. I'm no longer going to even attempt to find out if she's back as clearly she's not coming back and without her the experience is awful. It's such a shame as before it was the best Chinese I'd tasted and the service was the best I'd ever had now it's the worst in all areas. So I'll let everyone know not to keep trying anymore and we will all go elsewhere. So disappointing.

Has gone downhill. Continually get orders wrong. Food barely luke warm.

Not great. Got order wrong. Ordered beef in black bean and got beef in satay when we are peanut allergic household, didn't notice it was peanut until a bite was taken. Rest of the food was wet and had a funny taste. We have all said we have headaches following consumption, toooooo much msg perhaps. Won't bother again.

I ordered a meal that cost over £35 to be delivered and was very disapointed.1)It was late and 2) It was stone cold,so i had to reheat.The food was not very nice as it usually is and had to wait an hour and half for my food even though i ordered it before 5.30pm.This is the second time ive been dissapointed with Ga Wah which is a shame cause they were brilliant.I wont be ordering from them again.

We placed an order to collect. Ordered mixed meat Malaysia chow mein and we received rice instead. This has,happened before! The king prawn chow mein was very salty and the Hong kong style pork and ducks sauce was very watery. Both the chicken balls and large spring roll were very bland and not seasoned. I don't know whether they have a different cook but it was very disappointing as normally the food is very tasty.

Once again their delivery service is rubbish. Ordered and told 80 mins delivery- fair enough it’s a Saturday - rang up after 200mins to be told oh we are just cooking it be another 15 mins. Erm shouldn’t it be cooked and delivered by now - nice food but get your act together!!

Ordered through Uber eats, has been nearly 3 hours and the food still hasn't arrived. Impossible to get a refund

Where do I start, chicken satay so hard you can’t bite it, sweet and sour sauce like vinegar, rice mush, chicken chow mein had such a musty rotten smell, took a mouthful spat it out it was bitter and sour, already had tummy issues. Do not order from here you will be sick

Have been using this takeaway almost every week for around 7 years without issue , however 2 consecutive weeks of unexcusable unreliability has forced me to review any loyalty i have with them and look for a new regular takeaway. Are they under new management or just lost their way? Last week placed an order as regular at 17:00 for delivery time of 18:30 only for it to arrive at 17:30 AN HOUR EARLY!!!! Was advised they could bring it back at the correct time but what would have been the point as it would not have been recooked just kept warm. This week i rang again at the regular time of 17:00 but in case they done the same again ordered for 19:00. This time it went the other way!!!!!!!! At 19.35 phoned as the order hadnt been delivered and after some dithering whilst on hold was told it was ready and just leaving. After a further 25 minutes later it was delivered to me 1 mile away!! Ordering for a specific time to facilitate medication and an autistic family member with a fixed routine and previous reliability has always trusted me to use Ga Wah. Sadly one mistake can happen but 2 in consecutive weeks clearly shows there is either new management or they have clearly lost their way.

At 20.15 the website said our order had Time slot was 7.55-20.15. At 20.15 the website said it had been delivered. After waiting a further 30 mins I called the restaurant. It is now nearly 9pm and we are still waiting for our food.

When the friendly delivery driver arrived, he presented us with a decent bottle of wine too! We weren't expecting that, but a very kind touch. We shall certainly order again, thank you!

I hate leaving negative reviews but this time I feel I have to. special chow main and it only had a tiny prawn and 3 bits of chicken strips. nothing special about it. and the amount of money I spent and not a prawn cracker in site. I've never had a Chinese of this value where a bag of complimentary prawn crackers hasn't been thrown in. thought I would try something different than my usual Chinese tonight and will be running straight back to my usual Chinese restaurant.

Never have any problems with the food maybe others have but this is my only Chinese takeaway I go too. I've tried a few others and they were poor (not saying which are) I always collect because delivery can take a while. Maybe because they're busy. Definitely one of the best Ga Wah .

first time ordering from here and not only was the delivery early and the driver was so nice and even though he got a little lost and confused he was still such a pleasant man to meet. The food itself was unbelievably tasty, so full of flavours and definitely worth every single penny and more. I'm not one to do reviews but these definitely deserve one. Thank you

Worst Chinese i ever had. Fit for the bin.

Sadly the chips were old and very cold. Sweet and sour prawns, Thai beef, BBQ ribs and egg fried rice were great tasting and hot.

Food was nice and hot. Delicious but I was disappointed that my meat dish contained at least 50% of bamboo and carrots. For ur the price I expected all meat. It is true of most restaurants now, very small portions of meat. Very disappointed in meat content.

Half hour late on collection. Have had from here many times before.Times we could have complained about some things but never have.Cheap and cheerful way I see it so never made an issue.Only this time the chow meins were bad. Sticky/stodgy. To me it tasted old. Like it had been heated in the microwave. Won’t be ordering from here again, pay abit more and go elsewhere

Our 'go to' Chinese, we have been using GaWah for years and never had an issue. However last nights service was enough to put us off going again. Ordered a delivery via the restaurant at 5:30, told delivery time would be 7:15 which is quite long but thought they might be busy. Phoned at 7:30 to be told it had just left. We are about 10 minutes away, if that so waited. Phoned again at 7:50 and was told the driver was 1 minute away. Food finally arrived at 8:00 and was cold.Really disappointed

Always loved your food, but this time had processed thin tough bits of pork in my meal all in the same shape, it was vile and I chucked it in the bin, was not real pork at all, was really shocked at the quality as its normally really nice with real meat in it

The fried rice with this order was boiled rice with bits of fried egg through it! It was horrible

Always get our takeaway from here and has always been good. However we like the prawn crackers but £3.30?!!! Also my husbands meal today was very watery and no hint of oyster sauce!! Won’t stop using them but maybe they need to listen!!

We had a delivery at the weekend. I usually order the same meal from Ga Wah and it's usually lovely. Most of it was but the chicken was awful, tough as old boots and we had to throw it away. Very disappointed!

Usually happy with my orders from here but food took 2+ hours to arrive and was cold on arrival. Delivery driver took 20 minutes to complete a 5 minute drive; not sure if someone updated the delivery status too early. Seems to be the drivers problem rather than the restaurant. Happy to wait if it will arrive warm and the delivery updates are more accurate.

After going over the delivery time stated by 20 minutes & then my app saying that the delivery had been made I rang the restaurant who said the delivery was still on its way, 10 minutes later it arrived so 30 minutes late which is unheard of from this place. Apart from that the meal was excellent & arrived hot which is the main thing & the delivery driver was very courteous.i will continue to order from this place as the meals are always as I said earlier are very good

Ordered the food at 6 and our time slot was 745-805 and it arrived at 750. Food was nice but it was just about warm so had probably been sitting around for a while.

Used to have a banging chicken curry. It was one of the only places I found in Ashford that do a chicken curry with actual chicken rather than processed cubes. That seems to have changed recently.

Food was cold. Took Over one and half hours to get delivered. No free crackers even after spending £35. Not impressed
