Ordered a delivery whilst on holiday in Looe. Easy order on-line and rang to check delivery info and very friendly customer service. Thoroughly recommend the beef chow mein, lots of veg and tender beef pieces. Thank you for an efficient delivery service too

This takeout and restaurant doesn't promote itself from the outside but the food speaks for itself. The staff were a young boy and girl who couldn't have been more attentive and friendly and I wish I had been staying long enough to try the buffet night but the food we had was the best I've tasted in years. I honestly wish I lived nearer. Please try this place :)

Absolutely disgusting. Ordered £54 worth of food and the only thing worth eating was the free prawn crackers. Chicken chowmein had about 5 noodles and was draped with barely cooked chicken and sloppy veg. Crispy chilli beef was pale not brown and near enough sauceless tasted like eating empty batter with no sauce or flavour at all. Even the rice was undercooked and the Salt and Pepper combo was pathetic - handful of chips and the most tasteless chicken and ribs. What an absolute rip off I’m so shocked and angry. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!

Food was awful, home delivery. Curry sauce congealed and spilt all over food. Dirty fries box was overcooked and tasted like it had been cooked in dirty oil. Nothing tasted good. Menus was 43 pounds but charged 55.. 12 delivery charge is awful for such quality of food

We ordered from here using the website and it was delivered straight to our caravan at Looe Bay Holiday Park. Unfortunately I had requested it to be delivered at 6:30 and it arrived an hour early. It was a good job we were back. The food was ok, an average Chinese. We ordered a dry chow mein and it definitely wasn’t dry, but it was plentiful and piping hot when it arrived

We had a delicious meal here at the beginning of February. The service was excellent and the food was freshly cooked and very tasty. We’ll definitely be back!

Best Chinese take away ive ever had,and have alot!! Since moving to Polperro ive had several take aways from here and never been more than happy.The food is fresh and the meat wether beef,pork or chicken is butter soft.The chow mein is seasoned to perfection and the capital ribs are amazing,the sauce is out of this world! Yesterday i tried the pork,ginger and spring onions.The ginger tasted so fresh but didnt over power the dish,amazing.Ive found the staff amazing and smiling and on the ball even in busy times.Its an alround 10 out of 10 for me.

Food- lovely, hot and enjoyable. Staff- attentive and friendly in their big jumpers and joggers, nice and warm. Will not return as it was soooo cold- heating not on, sat in my coat . Tinsel falling off the walls as the sellotape wasn’t strong enough to hold it up and clutter and mess everywhere. Shame.

We both found the staff absolutely lovely, accommodating and efficient. The food was delicious, served up very quickly and steaming hot. We had no complaints at all but I would personally suggest that they offer a Tai Sweet Sauce with the Prawn Crackers (NOT a criticism but a suggestion). We will certainly return when we come again and would highly recommend this lovely restaurant.

Absolutely awful! Waited over 3 hours for the food to be delivered and when it finally came, it was below standard. After 2 hours of waiting, we called to find out where it was, to be met with a bit of confusion about our location, as if they didn’t realise they had a delivery scheduled there, and then told that the driver was “very slow” and he would get it here as soon as possible. He also said “don’t worry, it will still be warm, I’m just going to start cooking it”. Finally arrived over an hour after that conversation. Will never use again.

Ordered various dishes and every single one was lovely. Pleasant staff, reasonably priced and the food arrived quickly. A+ recommend highly

Oh dear. I am settling my stomach having just eaten a takeaway from the Peking Gardens in Looe. I began with the hot and sour soup and my wife had the chefs platter. My soup was the watered down sweet and sour soup with the ingredients from the hot and sour soup, strange indeed. This was followed by sweet and sour battered mystery food, broccoli and fried rice. This was interesting to say the least. My wife had the chicken chowmein which again wasn't how she ordered it but never mind. The food overall was deep-fried with the rice very chewy. The battered balls were cooked extremely thoroughly. My wife gave up on her mains and I gave it a sporting chance. Unfortunately, It was not the best. As holiday visitors this was the only choice which delivered. In all honesty , you would be better served going elsewhere.

We attempted to order online prior to collection. We were unable, this has happenned at most places in Looe. But as most things in Looe are a short, flat walk it was easy and convenient to go in and order. Took about 15/20 mins and had area to sit and have a drink whilst waiting. All the dishes were delicious and piping hot. Sweet and sour chicken balls and egg fried rice were really good. Favourite dishes were the salt n pepper chicken and the satay chicken. Would definitely use again.

As birthday treat my grandson took me to this restaurant for the all you can eat buffet. Although the decor is a bit dated, the food was absolutely delicious. Freshly prepared and it all tasted so good. Excellent value for money. The staff were so friendly and welcoming. We hadn't booked a table but we went early so no problem at all. We will go back.

Group of 11 went for all you can eat. Waiter took all are order but half the dishes we ordered didn’t come out. When asking for the bill. we notice he added an extra child. We then looked though the bill, over charge us for a glass of wine for a bottle of wine and charged us for our deserts that was part of the all you can eat. Of course he blamed his manager (we never seen her once and only dealt with the man. If we didn’t go though the receipt they would have got away with it! Check your bill before paying.

Girlfriend loves a Chinese! So whilst on holiday we decided to make and order. Ordered online and went to collect 45mins later. Got the food back and it was really good! One of the better Chinese’s I’ve had! Really enjoyed it. Would defo go again

Had a lovely meal delivered tonight. Just telephoned the order through, it was delivered on time, to our caravan at Polperro park. We were able to pay the friendly delivery driver cash (this included a very reasonable delivery charge of £4) and we all enjoyed a really lovely, tasty Chinese meal. Would be happy to recommend this Chinese restaurant to anyone thinking of ordering from them. It was delicious and very good value for money.

Delivery was over 90 minutes, but said that when ordered, so not fast but aware of time. Friendly driver, all good warm and tasty. Seem to have improved!

Food was nice enough and hot. The service was pleasant but only 2 ladies working so we had long waits. Plates weren’t cleared between courses so we had a stack on the end of the table by the end of the evening. Let’s start with the food (because that’s what we went in for and we were hungry after a 5 hour drive and we hadn’t booked anywhere so were in the lap of the gods really) it was really tasty and certainly hit the spot. It was priced OK but the service was nothing special, friendly enough but the waiter stank of fags and we felt there was only a nod towards being Covid-safe (ie they wore masks and had bottles of sanitizer on the tables). The whole place was old and tired and sort of somewhere you’d go on the way home from the pub rather than mmmm let’s go there for our dinner; if you get my drift - a real shame because it’s on the main thoroughfare and could offer a really great experience. They do take-out and deliveries and both were very busy.

We ate here on our recent visit to Looe, we had eaten here a couple of years ago also and we were not disappointed! It was a Sunday eve and we were the only ones in the restaurant. Probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever eaten. Ordered with these guys quite late in the evening for collection, the food was on time and lady who served me was really friendly. However the food was absolutely awful. It looked old and was all congealed together. It was cold and In general just tasted awful. All 3 people who I brought this take away for couldn’t eat the meal. Such a shame because not a fan of leaving terrible reviews but it was shocking. The prices for the potions you get is also not great. I’d like to say this could be a one off but I’ve eaten from here before and it’s not the best.. however I did find that if you eat in the restaurant the food seems to have abit more effort put into it! I would attach pictures but this was around a week ago and to be honest it went straight in the bin! If your getting a chinese in Looe order from Ocean Dragon the food is 100X better you get a lot more for your money!

This was a home delivery meal due to Coronavirus restrictions. Have to say it was OUR BEST CHINESE since we came to Cornwall 30 years ago! We used to dine at some very fine London Chinese and thus home delivery equalled them! Cannot wait to eat there once the current restrictions are (eventually) lifted. Their website is one of the best and easiest for online ordering!!

We had a takeaway from this restaurant on the recommendation of a local shop owner, and we were not disappointed. We ordered on the website (no Just Eat available) and were worried they wouldn't find the holiday apartment we were staying in, but we needn't have worried. The food arrived hot and on time, and was delivered by a very nice delivery man.It did say cash only on the restaurant when we walked into town earlier, but you can pay by card on the website or Cash on Delivery.Unfortunately I forgot to take pics of it but we had the set menu for 3 and it was plentiful and delicious.

We booked a table for two the night before New Year’s Eve. When we turned up we were the only two in the restaurant, although the takeaway trade was obviously doing well. Not long after, a party of five arrived and were seated. There was one girl on her own serving us in the restaurant, answering the phone and sorting the takeaway orders. In between everything else going on she came and took our order for a set meal, although we asked her to swap one of the meals, which she said she could do. She carried on juggling taking the orders of the five, their drinks, answering the phone etc. Stress levels were getting high when a party of eight turned up, followed by a party of four and another party of four. We eventually got our food (two portions of what we had swapped it no charge!) while the party of eight wrote their own orders to help out. Eventually help arrived for the waitress. All that said, the food was delicious and plenty of it. We were in no rush so it wasn’t a problem. We would certainly return to this restaurant.

We phoned at 6pm for a set dinner to be delivered. Were informed that it would be 7.30 before they could deliver, this seemed a long time to wait on a mid week evening in November, but we went ahead and ordered anyway. The meal arrived on time, and was hot. Unfortunately It was however without doubt the worst Chinese meal I have ever eaten!! Nothing in the mix of dishes included tasted remotely Chinese!! and the bulk of it had to be binned. Very disappointing experience.

We fancied a takeaway whilst on holiday and searched for a restaurant that would deliver in the middle of nowhere. We came up trumps with THE NEW PEKING GARDENS. Not only did they deliver quite a distance but the food was delivered a lot faster than expected (much faster than my local down the road) but the food was fresh and hot as well as being plentiful and delicious. I will definitely use them again if I go that way in the future.

Delivery was prompt. Food was really nice. The only negative point I have is this is a cash only buisiness which is inconvenient if you have to find a cash point first. Otherwise it would have been a 5.

Ate in and wished hadn’t. Staff were rude - snatching menus away and meals didn’t all arrive at the same time so some members of our group hadn’t finished eating before others food arrived. Service poor as had to ask numerous times for drinks (restaurant less than a quarter full so no excuse). On going to the toilets noticed peeling wallpaper with mould on the walls going upstairs (unfortunately too late to leave at this stage as had already eaten). Food was edible but mediocre at best especially as wasn’t cheap. Shame we had no internet signal as usually check hygiene ratings before eating, checking afterwards found out was only a 1/5 and not surprising in hindsight. Please avoid!

Had a look at the menu outside and decided that we would give it a try. was given a table and we waited about 15 minutes before a very sleepy? waitress asked us if we wanted a drink. She handed us a menu, however it was different from the one outside which we found out was for takeaways only. Since the food we fancied was only on the takeaway menu, we ordered from this and waited for the takeaway meal. 45 minutes later I asked where the food was and is had been left on a table near the kitchen for over 20 minutes. Very inexperienced staff and when I said that the food had gone cold I was told that I would have to re-heat it any way.

Ordered a meal for 7 for delivery. Order was on time, correct, food was hot and we all said how tasty it was. We all had different things and we all pleased. Will be back again.

Read some reviews on this place and tried to find somewhere else to get food but as it was so late we didn’t have much choice. I have to say my take away was actually really nice. The rice was fresh! The staff didn’t seem to know whether they were coming or going and the restaurant itself looked a bit dirty, we were apprehensive but starving. Special fried rice was really nice and the bbq sauce was perfect. The ribs however were fatty and not much meat. Not expensive, usual price for Chinese restaurants.

I called in for a takeaway: Ribs in Capital Sauce & Duck Chow Mein (udon noodles). Going up the stairs, the carpet had seen better days and I wondered if it was a good idea ordering food from there.

Cash only establishment; confirmed on ordering - continued with the order as the New Peking Gardens came recommended. It’s 2019 - loads of reasonable card merchants around now, shame not to have this option as this meant collecting as I needed to get cash to pay.

Visited a week ago. Should have known food would be disappointing, as no-one in the restaurant! I had crispy duck, which was tasteless as no meat as such just overcooked crispy bits. It was also Luke warm. My wife had a fish dish which was also bland. The waitress was pleasant enough, but not very communicative or friendly. When we came to leave, no-one bothered to say goodbye! No ambience to the place whatsoever. Will not be returning, although we live locally.

Very poor experience. Ordered takeaway and was told 45 minutes wait for delivery. 1.5 hours later food arrived, claiming busy night. Restaurant s should be honest when giving out timings. Food was average at best. The egg fried rice tasted burnt and the mixed vegetable sweet and sour tasted of shampoo, awful! However, crispy duck was good, but will never eat or order from there again

Nice chow mein well seasoned and tasted good, quick service as-well for take away orders, was in there less than 5 minutes, small waiting time for fresh food was good.

We got here about 15 minutes after we specified to collect our order, so you would have expected the order to be ready. When we got to the desk we were told by the idiot at the desk that the order hadn't gone through because the iPad was not downstairs. Then when she asked what was on the order she miraculously found a receipt with our order on. She then told us that we had to pay £27 and whatever pence, even though we had already paid online. She should have know we had paid online, also anyone could claim to have paid online even if they hadn't because she didn't even bother to check that we actually had.

I had a takeaway. They said 45 minutes but it was about 30 minutes from order to door. Impressed. £35 but there was a lot and the chicken balls were huge and tasted. All of the order was superb as normal.

Treat staff like rubbish! kept watching us during our meal as if they were waiting for us to leave. Absolutely disgusted. They’re boiler was also broken so was freezing in there and no subsitute for heating. As we are locals here, we asked if we could take our food home, staff member bagged it up for us (very helpful) then the managers phoned her from the kitchen to the bar... and told her she was not allowed to give us our paid food and was then taken away from us (just for them to throw it in the bin) also ordered chocolate pudding as extra (wasn’t part of the buffet) and the chefs in the kitchen can’t even work out what chocolate pudding means as they don’t speak a word of English. On a normal day to eat in... they charge another £2-3 per portion on top of the takeaway prices. Also prices outside are different to when your inside and the managers response was oh well it’s only a couple of pounds difference! We are disgusted with the problems this evening. Please don’t come here.. go to liskeard or Plymouth... these guys should not be in business!!!!!
