The best restaurants serving Chinese food in England

I don't like giving negative reviews, but this one highlights an issue that I believe is more important than the quality of the food There are very few organisations that refuse to accept card payments these days and you have to wonder why. Many of them are hot food takeaways and a large proportion are Chinese food. The cost of the transaction by card is pennies, so you can rule that one out. However if you have the record that card transactions would provide, it would allow HMRC and the VAT man to get a very good indication of the level of turnover. The only reason I can think of to want to hide this is if you are evading tax People that want to cheat the taxman are refusing to contribute to society and don't deserve your custom. You may also have a wasted journey if you have got no cash with you.

Oh wow what an amazing meal me and my other half have enjoyed every bite. Amazing would give more stars if I could! And it came really quick!

Decided to try one of their set dinners for two and eat in the restaurant on 26th April. They served us our starters but never did get the mains! We patiently waited approx. 40 minutes after finishing starters before asking why our mains had not arrived, a further 20 minutes then passed of us asking repeatedly, watching multiple takeaways go out the door and being told our mains were on the way before we gave up and realised we were being lied to. ‘Manager’ eventually emerged from the kitchen, was completely unapologetic, admitted our order had been lost between restaurant and kitchen but attempted to blame other members of staff rather than admit he was the failure. Feel sorry for the young girl working there who was trying her hardest but clearly being let down by poor management. I paid for the starters and drinks which we had consumed before leaving, on reflection not sure why as they deserved zero payment. Even making the payment the manager was extremely awkward demanding cash payment, then handing me a scrap of paper with account number and sort code on before eventually agreeing to use their card machine! Will never visit again and adding this review to help others not make the same mistake of trying to dine here!

Always order food from Temptation House because it is consistently excellent, but tonight I ordered Chicken Green Pepper & Black Bean Sauce and Special Spicy in Yelliow Bean Sauce, both with fried rice & portion of Salt & Pepper Chips and WOW, both meals where fantastic, not too sure if it was the same chef that normally works on a Friday night, but it was perfect, we would have been really happy having in a top Chinese Restaurant. Thankyou to all & also the speed that it was delivered was the same as usual, very quick.

It's such a shame, but since going under new management the food is utterly awful. Seriously, don't waste your money. The salt and chilli ribs we just fat and bone, with little to no meat. Yet, the meat that did remain had no flavour at all and just swam in a putrid puddle of grease. The special chow mein and special fried rice are a joke. 0 mixed vegetables and 3 small prawns and a few shreds of chicken that's drier than a flipflop In the sun. I used to love this place as a cheap Chinese treat and have been comming for 10+ years. However, I'd honestly rather vote the Tories back in than ever spend my hard earned money in this place ever again. And, I'd strongly recommend you do the same and boycot the Golden chef.

Ordered online for delivery a house special fried rice .. same as I had ordered the week before .. I received something different and when I called I was told I needed to specify “dry “ however there were no such options on line and I said what I had got was completely different to what I had ordered.. lady on phone said they very busy so could I come into the shop.. I refused as had paid service charge and delivery .. she was really quite rude also . Not a good experience and they did nothing to rectify.. two very different meals should not have the same name !!

Ordered a takeaway for delivery and was told it would be delivered between 19:40 and 20:00. It hadn't arrived at 20:15 so I called the restaurant to offer to collect it. They told me it had left and was on its way. It finally arrived at 20:40, 1 hour late. The food wasn't great either. Soft pancake rolls and rice clumped together. I won't use them again.

Wasn't open at 18:30 on a Sunday in spite of Google closing time stating 22:00

If I was you get someone else to deliver your food as I had a mistlbe male driver bring my food he was very rude I want be going back there no more

Very popular. Great choice of dishes, black bean beef was amazing. Really flavourful. Excellent portion size. Takeaway only.

Food was cold, I appreciate the distance however only thing which was hot was the soup despite everything being packed in foil trays. Portion sizes for the price are shocking especially the king prawns. Fried rice is like boiled rice. Never ordered from here before and unfortunately won’t be ordering again.

Probably the WORST chippy I have ever had in 32 years. Chips, rubbish. Chicken fried rice missing the chicken and the frying part. Pie's, I've had better frozen pies done in microwave and the staff... Smile it might never happen. I'd avoid this at all cost especially for the price you pay! If your after a nice chippy in newhey area, travel over to Shaw and go to Double Luck.

Easily the best takeaway in the area! Food is cooked fresh to order and you can tell, very generous portions good value for money. Also good options for people with allergies, friendly staff. Would recommend!
