Order took too long and wasn’t as nice as it usually is. Every time I order it takes forever to arrive. Not bothering again.

Best Chinese meal never let me down

Ordered for the fist time today. Put on Ordered in online at 445 and they were here by 5pm. Delivery guy was very polite and the food was lovely. Very impressed. I will definitely be ordering from them again. Thanks guyys

Just had the share munch box the food was piping hot great quality and quantity delivery man was great this is why I never ever use another Chinese keep up the fantastic work

Been going here off and on 20+ years last month food was perfect this month ordered a munch box a with sweet and sour ribs couldn’t believe the chips were hard chicken balls soggy with to much oil samosas not crispy and the little chicken bits impenetrable to chew the rib spat it out how could it change that dramatically in 1 month going to have to find new Chinese takeout

I had ordered from this restaurant for my dad's birthday and was extremely disappointed with the quality of the food. The food was not enjoyable at all, the salt and pepper chips tasted stale and the sweet and sour sauce had absolutely no flavour along with the king prawns with chilli sauce. Honestly, everything was just awful even the chicken balls were weirdly tough and not fresh. The amount of money paid, I would have expected much better. I also contacted the restaurant, the lady who answered was not helpful in any way and refused to give any resolution for the bad food and she proceeded to tell me I didn’t order from their restaurant. The customer service is so poor. I definitely won't be ordering from here again.

Definetely best chinese takeout in the area Great value tasty food and kind lady at the counter. Decent chunks of chicken in sweet and sour sauce. Salt and pepper King prawns decent size and juicy. Chow mein and fried rice also nice and full of flavour. Ordered 3 mains and one starter and got extra spring rolls with sweet and sour sauce witch was a really nice gesture Definetely will order again. :)

Only 4 out of 10. Egg fried rice good, Singapore noodles, chow main, bbq ribs were edible but won't eat again. King prawns were not freshly cooked. We were hungry so ate and have loads left over but will bin it rather than eating it again! ☹️

I have been using Chester house in November last year, every time I have had a takeaway, it's like the first time, always really clean reception, gorgeous, tasty 🤤😋 meals and not costly, everything is good 💯, I won't go to another Chinese takeaway ever again 💯 perfect.

First time was lovely but the next couple of times was horrible. Delivery takes over an hour aswell. Won’t be ordering again.

Hit and miss. My chicken had a sauce on but last time I ordered it, it never. Wasn’t keen this time as it made my chicken soggy but before it was lovely. I think that they have different chef's.

I have used Chester House for some time now. The food is always very tasty. The staff are also very friendly and greet me, by name, each time I visit. It's a shame that I can only give five stars.

Very nice Chinese Takeaway. Food is very nice. Always arrives hot. Delivery drivers could be better still. Shop is conveniently situated on the Chester Road with other shops opp Maccy D's...

Food is always consistent in quality and have always had a good take away meal of very good taste and portion size. The only gripe is that on a few occasions the woman behind the counter comes across quite sharp and rude. As it is minor and maybe she is unaware that she comes across the way she does but food is good enough to be able to put up with that anyway. Lol

I have been ordering from Chester house for the last 6 years but the last 5/6 times I've ordered I've been told 45-60 minutes. And it's taken between 2&3 hrs. So delivery time is poor. I'll be taken my custom elsewhere from now on.

Chester House Chinese. Had a delivery tonight. It was lovely. Really friendly when ordering and delivery was fast and pleasant driver. Spare ribs, sweet and sour Cantonese prawns, beef curry ,egg fried rice and chips. Recommend

I had king prawn chow mein, usually you get a few prawns n loads of noodles, at Chester house I had loads of king prawns that were delicious. I've never had a bad meal from here. Always piping hot, tasty and excellent value for money. I highly recommend this Chinese takeaway

Ordered sweet and sour chicken Cantonese style, it came as chicken strips (which don't look appetising at all) with hardly any sweet and sour sauce on, called to see what id been sent to be told this is how it comes, if you want the chicken pieces you have to state that when ordering but yet have Ordered this same thing many times before and never had to tell them i want pieces not strips. Not willing to change or offer any other solution. Will not be ordering from them again!

Tonight visited for a takeaway and again they have got our order wrong and this is actually repeating the order to them face-to-face . Wanted sweet and sour king prawn got sweet and sour pork. Very disappointed as twice they have got it wrong. Never again.

We order a takeaway nearly every week from Chester House and we have never been disappointed. Always great food and great service in the shop and delivery drivers are always friendly and polite.

Lovely food and the portions size are really big for what you have to pay. The munchies box is a really good option.

We were recommended to give the Chester House a try....and boy we were not disappointed. We had the set meal for 5. Not only was there plenty to eat but the variety of dishes and quality of food was second to none. We did have to wait for our delivery but considering the amount of food that arrived you can see why. It's definitely worth the wait. We will certainly be using this take away again. Thank you

Not great. My usual Chinese was closed so I tried out Chester House. It was pretty bland and they didn't know what Chow Mein with sauce was. I won't be going back.

Salt and Pepper Tofu, really yummy. Boiled Rice, perfect. Tofu in green pepper and black bean sauce, delicious. Never had food from Chester House Chinese; will again, as it was delightful. Happy customers, thank you. 🥢

This ended up being my Favourite local takeaway since the Ruby changed chefs in 2017 , I love their Thai special chowmein however after receiving chicken balls instead of King prawn balls they asked if we would tolerate it just this once and then when we said no lt appeared my king prawns arrived dirty covered in black spots 🤢 I will be going elsewhere to "best Choice chinese " near kingstanding

We have now left the area, so won't be using them again. Over the years, they have been generally consistent. Quality good and if delivered, always hot and prompt. Friendly service too. We will miss you.

Lovely food .. Id say the best in Erdington.. But i dont like the delivery fee.. And i dont like how you need to order large chips because the regular size is small

We keep ordering deliveries from here. Tonight's dinner was so exquisite that it reminded me that I should really write a review. Three of us had separate orders. I'll talk about mine. I had a portion of beansprouts and a portion of king prawn vermicelli. The food was delivered to us so piping hot and freshly made that it was as if it had been brought to the lounge directly from the kitchen. The beansprouts fresh out of the wok, full sprouts with such a savoury flavour to them, ginger, chilli and garlic permeating the vegetable. The beansprouts were also served with a smattering of delicious carrots and onions, al dente but just enough to compliment the beansprouts. So moreish that I ate all the very generous portion. Next I had king prawn vemicelli and what a delight that was. Another very generous portion, piping hot, direct from the kitchen. The vermicelli were infused with garlic, ginger and chilli flavours too and the plump fresh king prawns were plentiful and had a delicious chargrilled hint to them, such must have been the heat of the wok. This all came with tasty prawn crackers with a delightful crunch to them. Quite honestly, even though I was full two thirds of the way through everything was so moreish I polished it all off! Exquisite and never fails to please. My Dad and his partner hoovered up their food too. All in all this takeaway is an absolute winner every single time. I'm a terrible foodie and it's nothing but a pleasure to give Chester House a rave review.

The food is great no comment about that but the ignorance that the lady from the counter has is absolutely bad. She has a cerry rude behaviour and the crazy thing is that I order the same thing and each time the price is different by 2or 3 pounds sometime more and sometime less. ?????

Chester House is definitely the best Chinese take away in birmingham, the food is always and I mean always bang on. I've ordered from here for over 8 years now, and if i ever move from sutton, I'll drive to the place to get it.

We use this takeaway regularly and can't really fault it. Delivery is always quick, even when they are busy.

For decades we've used a Chinese takeaway restaurant nearer to our house....but Chester House has changed that!!! Will definitely be recommending to local friends and family!!!

Having eaten here many times, top marks for consistency of quality food. Never been disappointed. Staff always pleasant and happy to customise dishes to customers requirements. Keep up the good work.

Best Chinese I’ve had! We had salt & chilli chicken and chicken chow Mein. Great food minimal grease, their rice is really great too not mushy at all 😍 would eat here again we actually prefer it to our usual Hong Kong house

Enjoyed a very good Singapore Vermicelli for £5.70. It was quiet around 745 and only waited 10 minutes. Will definitely be calling again

This is is now our firm go to Chinese Takeaway. They are usually busy and are often engaged when you try to call - but please keep trying, it's worth it! Very reliable service, friendly staff and quick delivery. Tonight we had a delicious beef curry, duck in plum sauce and sweet and sour chicken, with chips. Also tasty Prawn crackers. The chips are very good. Food always arrives hot. Thanks to all for a really good service in difficult times ❤️

This Chinese take away would have been bearable 20 years ago, but now the food is miserably familiar. Our starters were cold,deep-fried and poor quality. One main meal went straight in the bin. The other, an old favourite beef with ginger, was edible but second-rate compared to other take aways in this area. Avoid.

We have gone off ordering Chinese take away as we did not find anything decent in our area. Its a bit far from our house but we collected once on the way from work and since then we use this take away on a regular basis. Friendly staff and tasty food that is not too oily and the egg fried rice looks like rice. Love the duck with pancakes! See you again soon!

We now use this Chinese takeaway as our 'go to' food outlet. The food is generally very good, hot and delivered on time. Prices have crept up of late we have noticed. It won't be our local for very much longer and we will be sad, but time for pastures new.

Place has gone down hill since new management. We’ve seen a steady decline in food quality for the last few years. Which I understand you get with new management on occasion. But what I don’t appreciate is having 2 women scream at me in chinese down the phone when I’m being polite and inquiring about an order that was wrong. They offered to swap it which I was grateful for. They then said it was sold out. So I picked something else. And then again had two women screaming at me for a further couple of minutes. In the end I hung up. This has been my go to takeaway for the passed 20 years.... never again.... N E V E R A G A I N

We find this takeaway virtually unbeatable. The food quality is always great, portions are good and service is excellent. We usually use their home delivery service, which is quick and the food arrives hot, even on a cold night. Good choice of dishes as well, think this is now our fave. Well done to the owner and staff.

Been using for years and still very good but we think portion sizes are smaller, preferred foil which are more environmentally friendly I think. The pancake rolls were SO much better when they were huge when you only got one. Still use but not as much , not sure if Steve has any influence any more.

Had a menu through the door today and realised that I hadn't tried this take away for many years. We tend to stick to our favourite, but took a risk tonight - one that paid off! The food was lovely, well cooked and arrived hot for home delivery in good time. We would definitely use again - thanks guys.

En espera de una comida china para llevar, (la tercera en una semana), pensé en probar este viejo refugio. Solíamos vivir cerca hace unos años. Me complace decir que la comida no estaba tan mal en absoluto. El curry de verduras tenía una salsa sabrosa, pero una mejor variedad de verduras hubiera sido mejor. Chips cocinados adecuadamente y agradable rollo de primavera.¡Pocas posibilidades de perder peso con comidas de buena calidad como esta!

My favourite Chinese takeaway place and im quite fussy with my foods but this place is spot on!! i dont live near this takeaway place unfortunately it takes me max 30 mins to get there but it is definitely worth the drive!!

I have lost count of the number of times that I have ordered a delivery from this Chinese takeaway and it has always been good. Excellent food, reliable delivery and at a reasonable price. It ticks all the boxes.

Gran calidad y sabores justo hasta mi calle.Me trasladé a millas de distancia, pero aún así llegar hasta Chester House cada vez me apetecía Chiniese. Valió la pena.Por desgracia, algo ha cambiado. Mis favoritos cambió el sabor. A veces un plato completamente diferente está ocultando bajo el nombre antiguo. Creo que quizás había algo de gestión de cambios. Conseguimos una comida para llevar de aquí y la comida era buena y llegó razonablemente rápido.

Pedimos un plato cantonesa y de Szechuan plato, ambas eran excelentes. También vienen en cajas de aluminio, que es más adecuado para el horno para mantenerse caliente si es necesario.
