Jade House in Test Valley

I've been a regular at Jade House for a while now, and it consistently delivers a solid Chinese takeaway experience. The menu is diverse, with all the classics, and they do a great job with their dishes. The portion sizes are generous, and the prices are quite reasonable. The service is generally prompt, though there have been a couple of times when the wait was a bit longer than expected. Nevertheless, the quality of the food usually makes up for any delays. The staff is friendly and always ready to accommodate special requests. Overall, Jade House is a reliable choice for satisfying Chinese food cravings. It's not the most upscale place, but the comfort of good, consistent food keeps me coming back.

after a busy shift at work my friend and I decided to treat ourselves to a well earned Chinese from jade house in romsey. we were both very disappointed. the chow mein was chewy and dry and the chicken balls were swimming in grease! it ended up in the bin. needless to say we will never return

We thought we'd try Jade house tonight as our usual Chinese is closed on a Monday. I was shocked when the bill came to over £50 for the two of us - £12 more expensive than our usual Chinese for the same food.. well, less portions here. The food was bland and very costly with no delivery. Would we go here again? No we,won't be returning

We tried the Jade House for the first time as the reviews were excellent. However, although the service was quick and efficient the food we ordered (Meal C for 2 persons) was tasteless and the duck in black bean and peppers was mostly fat. Sadly we are not likely to go back.

Wow, don't be put off because it's within a housing development. You think the satnav has lost the plot when arriving. First time trying Jade House as away. It was great, tasty and fresh. It was still hot even after 25min drive back to our cottage in Nether Wallop. The takeaway kitchen was really clean, tidy and even has a 5 food hygiene rating. The garlic butter chicken was lovely (never seen this before) nice to see a sweet & sour mixed balls option (chicken & prawn) The lady taking orders was very friendly, polite and patient while busy. Thank you for a lovely fresh hot meal.

Lovely Chinese takeaway, we had the house special platter (always a favourite, good mix), Kung pao chicken, beef chow mein and. some others bits and all really tasty as always! service great, ready on time when picking up, easy experience. would recommend

Their rating checks out. The food was excellent, not too oily, fully of flavour and authentically Chinese. Our order also didn't take long. The customer service was great, and the fact that it's so close to home is a huge win.

Fabulous Chinese. My mother moved to Romsey 2 years ago and we've tried a number of Chinese. This was by far the best, will definitely be visiting again. The salt and pepper squid was insanely good!

Hot, fast and tasty. They use steamed chicken (I think) which is fine - provided that you know this - and makes the service quicker. I would go there again.

Always a warm welcome and stunning food with great portion sizes and varied flavours, packed full of rich sauces and veg I'm dishes. Easily our favourite takeaway option in Romsey!

Chips were very dry and cold no flavour ,lamb dish, only had 2 pieces of meat in it hardly any chicken in the rice curry has been down sized very little meat in it very disappointing lady behind the till needs to learn some social skills no please or thank you

Best Chinese I’ve ever had. Despite being able to order from a different place to deliver, would choose this Chinese over any place even though the drive! Chicken balls are sooo good!

We are regulars here, tried every Chinese in Romsey and nobody even close to how good they are. Food fresh, hot and very tasty. Also can see how clean the kitchen is.

Woman on reception was not at all friendly, no please or thank you, the Chicken fried rice was very dry with tiny chicken pieces, and dont order the Lamb Szechuan style, the lamb was just fat no substance just like eating jelly awfull even our dog would not eat it.

Order not complete. I called to explain the three missing items. I was told that all items that were ordered were made. Went back in to order the remaining items and ended up with one I didn't order and still two items missing. I was laught at when I suggested that I ask for another member of staff to take my order next time. Very disappointed. And was charged for items not ordered!

Food was great, hot, tasty and well presented. Minus point for underestimated arrival time to collect (we waited a further 5 before going to collect, to then wait another 15 mins. Signage not clear for where to wait. But otherwise great food would recommend.

We ordered about £50 of Chinese from here. Very reasonable. Particularly liked the duck and the chili need chow mein

Visited whilst at the New Forest Folk Festival 2019 and despite the overall rating we were very disappointed. My wife's sweet and sour king prawns were almost tasteless and my chicken was overcooked and hard in places. Both had batter that was far to thick and held on to the fat which we were able to squeeze out leaving a pool on our plates. Finally the chips were hard and seemed to have been reheated. All in all not the experience we were looking forward to. We don't have take away food on a regular basis so this was to be a treat which really wasn't. I will say that the service was very good with polite and pleasant staff.

Awesome Chinese takeaway! I consider myself quite the Chinese food connoisseur (you should see the size of me) and for me, this place ticks all the boxes. Really friendly family. I would certainly recommend the beef with ginger and spring onions.

Best Chinese in Romsey! Never had a bad experience in 3 years. Good price and tasty food. Service with a smile. Shame they don’t deliver although my bank and waist will probably thank them for that...

Food was okay at best, half of my food was vegetables. Lady at the till was blunt and seemed fed up.

Great Chinese takeaway, healthier than some others. Always love the food we get from here. Would rate five stars if they did beef and tomato which is my favourite chinese dish but unfortunately they don't. They do stock everything else though you normally get at a Chinese takeaway.

Nice and quick lovely food now the only one we use.

For months you get told the card machines not working. Hence you order a lot less as you have to pay cash and no one really carries a lot of spare cash these days. You could sell a lot more if you sorted out the card machine. The foods not bad but the front desk service is certainly not as friendly as it used to be.

Food was great actually the best Chinese I've had in years all the family enjoyed it collection was quick food was nice and hot portion sizes was great even for the big eaters the only criticism is slightly pricey but you get what you pay for Will definitely be going again

En los últimos meses he usado este llevar regularmente. En primer lugar, el personal de mostrador, en especial la regular masculino que es siempre muy amable y acogedor. Él también es muy rápido y eficiente los pedidos. El menú es variado y tienen su propia página web. La comida es muy sabrosa y siempre caliente. La única cosa molesta el rótulo con su máquina está rota y que no puede aceptar tarjetas de ha sido para muchos meses, así que no es conveniente para los clientes. Por lo demás, excelente para llevar.

Caro, por £9 + un pato barrio (el barrio que incluía la piel y una pierna! ! ). Pollo chow Mein con pollo muy poco! . Un total de 16 libras! ! Trae los propietarios de hace años. Ah, y "tarjeta no funcionaba", alias máquina no pagar impuestos! !

Uno de los mejores acaba de convertirse en uno de los peores para llevar chino. Absoluta que esperar perder mi tiempo, pérdida de dinero, pérdida de la comida, y perder mi permitir llegar allí. No se puede esperar cualquier servicio de ellos, ya no hay ninguno! Nunca volveré de nuevo, si tienes mucho dinero para gastar, a intentarlo! ! !

Desde el cambio de administración se han producido algunos pequeños cambios en el menú, todo para mejor. Las horas de apertura se han modificado recientemente, sin embargo, de 5 a 10. 30:00 y todavía están cerradas los martes. La comida estaba cocinada rápidamente y se sirve bien caliente. Ciertamente ha mejorado el sabor con el cambio de manos. Sin duda recomendaría comer aquí ahora.

Está bien si el precio es un poco más si la calidad de la comida es de calidad. La comida está fría, y la calidad de el pato es absolutamente terrible. La calidad de la comida es bastante por debajo del estándar, todos los platos son muy dulces. Ojalá que pueden mejorar.

La comida siempre parece 10 minutos, lo que parece sugerir que es ya preparados. A mi marido le gusta sus curris, debido a su proximidad a nuestra casa no usar este para llevar más a menudo que otros hoteles de la ciudad. No se puede describir la comida era diferente o mejor que los otros y el menú es típico de la mayoría de los lugares de China para llevar.

Good food for a takeaway. Large portions of all your favourite dishes so you can save some to nibble for breakfast. Good ordering and payment system. Fast service even when busy.

Since my last visit it looks like this establishment has new owners. There is a revamped menu on the wall and to take plus a new website. I ordered a take away which was prepared and supplied within 10 minutes. Piping hot and very tasty. Staff very pleasant and welcoming.

Swore I would never go back after my last experience a year ago but on hearing there were new owners we tried it. Very good take away menu and the food was extremely good. I am so pleased to have a descent Chinese take away back in Romsey. Please keep up the good work.

New owners mean new prices. The food was ready within 10 minutes and was very hot. My only complaint was that the Singapore noodles did not have the usual heat, it seemed quite bland.

There are new owners at Jade House and the food has improved a lot, however I don't think it is any better than other chinese takeaways in the area. The prices are quite high in my opinion. Compared to our usual takeaway, which is only down the road and offers delivery, the Sweet and Sour Chicken balls are £1.20 more expensive at Jade House. Duck curry is £1.70 more and spare ribs are £1.60 more. I know this doesn't sound like much but it adds up to a lot when you are buying for the whole family. The food quality is not 20% better for the 20% price increase.

Used to be very good then went downhill, now better than ever! We have dined in the Mandarin Chef and South Garden restaurants and have tried the majority of Chinese restaurants/takeaways in the Romsey and Salisbury area, it is a normal Friday evening thing we do. Jade House can now match any others we've been to for quality of food. My belly it testament to my expertise in this area! The food was still hot when we got home 15 minutes later, the portion sizes are far larger than we were used to previously and the food was less greasy than most places. We had salt chilli chicken (the best I have had), Singapore Chow Mein (the best I have had), king prawn curry, sweet and sour chicken Hong Kong style, chicken with green pepper and blackbean sauce, boiled rice and complimentary prawn crackers - £30.20. This easily fed three of us with enough left over for another meal! It's a shame this is only a takeaway and not a restaurant.

On looking at previous reviews am now aware the ownership has changed and today was my first visit since then. I called in for a Take Away meal and found the lady behind the counter very pleasant and welcoming. She served me very politely and in a friendly manner and my meal was ready within 10 minutes. I found the food well cooked and tasty and piping hot. On this visit I would recommend this establishment for staff and food quality.

The best barbequed spare ribs within 100miles! Undoubtedly the best takeaway in Romsey. Update NEW OWNERS, new recipes. In all fairness the dishes we have had have been good but different to the previous Chefs, owners... with the exception of the barbeque ribs, they are awful, little more than dried up bones with an insipid sauce. Sorry previous 5* reduced to 3*

Never open for lunch now with new owners a total waste of everyone's time . Please sell back to the old owners or to someone that gives a flying f*** about there Buisness!!!!

I have used Jade House for 18 yrs without one complaint. Now it has new owners the quality and flavour have now hit rock bottom.I will never go back after years of loyalty.

OK, We have used this place a couple of times, overall they are cheap, what they do well is Rice and Noodles, not greasy, plenty of Flavour and I have to admit their Indonesian rice is not bad, the singapore noodles are pretty good. I find their mains to be a little bit poor, in taste in pretty much every respect, so when we order from here, we order the rice or the noodle dishes. Hats off to them for those,

Having recently moved in to the area - This place was recommended by another local person. - Good Call - Thank you whoever you were !!!!! Been back about 4 times in the last 6 weeks. Try the dry fried squid with chilli and garlic - Hhhhmmmmmm, lovely.

Nice food BBQ ribs really good. Food OK large portions. Had some pancake rolls which were a little over cooked. Would we use again yes. They have a face book account which if you want can leave instant feed back as well.

I have tried Chinese cuisine all over the country and nothing has yet reached the standard of Jade House.Great food, lovely staff and always very satisfied. Highly recommend.

Can't say I'm a massive Chinese connoisseur however although my tastes are far from exotic I've always had a great meal from here. The staff are always very friendly and appear to make a great effort to get to know you on return visits. I've visited only a few Chinese Take Aways/Restaurants but have to say this is my favourite,lovely food and lovely staff,also very reasonably priced with decent size portions,well worth a try..

Tried this place for the first time this week. Great looking food , big pieces of chicken in the sweet n sour and chow mein , certainly not tight. Just a real shame the food was tasteless. Needed something to zing it up a bit. We had large pancake rolls that smelt of ammoniac so we didnt even try them as they were clearly off. May give it another try one day if they can add some much needed flavour. Also ridiculous that they have no take away menus

Myself and two members of my family developed food poisoning after buying a takeaway from this place. Shame as it tasted good!
