We have been using this Chinese takeaway since it opened and won't go anywhere else in Andover. Service is quick and food is always excellent and piping hot. Good menu choice. Something for everyone.

I've seen this takeaway when visiting local shop/chemist - always looked like it was out of business. Decided to go home and book a meal, oh dear, it was appalling, riddled in grease, beef and black bean sauce was so appalling we couldn't eat it. I so want to support local services/community but seriously they need to be in tune with times and competition..their location is excellent - it just needs a fresh look.... both in menu, prep and presentation in the takeaway and with food.....

I used to quite frequently get this. I am a lover off beef chow mein, Now this does amazing beef chow mein but not the best. The chips are lovely, so is the bbq ribs, The wet rice is good. Would recommend this highly.

Was looking forward to my favourite dish Sweet and Sour Chicken Hong Kong Style. Yuk would never go there again, it was bland, no taste whatsoever, there were no vegetables in it and the colour looked horrible. On the plus side the staff were friendly.

First time vist wasn't impressed! I only have a take away once every 6 months, I had chicken curry there was hardly any sauce and only chicken and onions abd there wasn't any flavour. The chips looked and tasted like they been in the chip pan a few times, was disappointed as heard good rieviews. Tried calling but got no where. Dont ever write on these pages buy was really annoyed what I got!!

On moving to the area we were quite excited about trying our first chinese takeaway. We were so disappointed! Turns out, not all chinese takeaways have tasty food. I ordered beef in black bean sauce (thought it a safe option during pregnancy), which was LOADED with salt. I managed almost half of it, and threw the rest away (and I hate wasting food!). Possibly the worst I've ever had, and this is usually a go to dish for me when trialling an establishment. My husband had their equivalent of Kung Po chicken (can't remember what they called it - we threw the menu out), which is his favourite choice from a chinese takeaway; or at least has been previously; and he felt sick for the next day. Needless to say, we've not been brave enough to try any other chinese restaurants/takeaways in town since. The meat was of a poor quality, and didn't taste right. I know pregnancy can change your taste buds, but I got my husband to taste mine to check it wasn't just that. Not sure if it was old or just poor quality. My advice on eating here is... don't.

Horrible bland food with looks like it's made with left over meat from the day before. There are plenty of nice Chineses in Andover this is not one of them !!!

Stopped on the way home from a long day after spotting the Excelsior next to the Boots previously. Might sound odd but the meal tasted "fresh". Not something you always get from a Chinese takeaway. Plenty of meat in the dishes and the Szechuan Chicken was deliciously spiced. Looks like it will be the new Chinese takeaway of choice in Andover.

We often use this take away and the food is always good. Once in about 25 visits the food was slightly too salt (a frequent problem with Chinese food) but only once. Good value, good and quick service and good food What more can you ask

Love this place. For me, my favourite Chinese takeaway in town. Unfortunately due to my location (and lifestyle!) change I rarely get a chance to use them. Service is always with a smile.

I have lived in Andover now for 20 years and I have tried every Chinese food take away in the area several times. I have been a customer of the Excelsior for approx. 15 years now and to say it is the best in the area is an understatement. The food is so much better than other take-aways. The couple who run this place are really nice and if you want something slightly different it is not a problem. I have noticed most of the menus for similar take away are the same but here it is different with an extended choice of Chef Recommendations and Thai food. You can even get Poppadum’s if you want them! I would recommend this place to all, I have tried most of the menu and would recommend any of the Thai dishes, any of the Chef Recommendations like the “happy family” or the “Merry Paradise” The lemon/Orange Chicken, The chow Mein and the curry dishes are great.Keep up the good work Excelsior and I am so glad to list this place on Trip Advisor!

Ready to collect perfectly on time, the chips are really good - but that’s it. All bland and for some reason there was sweet and sour sauce in the duck chow mein. 🤮
