Temptation House Take Away in St. Helens

Absolutely a waste of space no show with a £40 order then told a pack of lies about waiting for his delivery driver to come back. Then when tried to call the phone was picked up and could hear laughing if I could rate this take away a minus it would be a -10

Very disappointing, were the most regular customers, and tonight it were Stone cold, salt pepper season was well over powered unbearable to eat, chicken balls extremely greasy, hate complaining but this tonight as the been the worst ever in all yrs been a customer. Extremely disappointing

40 minute delay on arrival despite ordering via phone. Really poor customer service

We've been going here for years and the food is mostly nice, can have a not so good meal every now and again but nothing that puts me off going. They only accept cash and there is some parking space outside but they also offer delivery which is usually quite quick.

Very hit & miss … used to be spot on all the time …. tonight really disappointing … chicken seemed to have been pre cooked as very dry & mixed meat special deffo pre cooked … looking elsewhere again & would appreciate recommendations

Bang on takeaway! Quality over potion sizes but can still feed two people comfortably. Foods always hot and tasty. No ramp for wheelchair users and no hand rails for people with poor mobility but I guess staff would be more than happy to come out and go the extra mile.

This is an English Chinese/ got to be the largest menu I've ever seen, you would need a mansion with a dining hall table to put this lot on. I'm pretty sure you could find something authentic on this menu, however, this is an English Chinese to European taste, so it is good grub, stick to the chinese/Cantonese/ Singapore stuff, it's a tad on the expensive side, however, does do set meals, avoid chips and curry sauce.

Ordered over the phone for collection and was told it would be 10 minutes . I was surprised how quick it was going to be. After collecting it and eating it I wasn't happy as it wasn't very warm and portions not very big . Normally go to Woks Crackin down the road will stick with them next time

Order tonight,2/02/2024 delivery fast n friendly, 20.70 special chow mein,chopsue roll,egg rice n fried mushrooms n curry n gravy, food okay, hardly any meat at all! Rice like every other Chinese! Curry okay I would order again but going to try Jade's garden!

Takeaway ordered by phone , collected 15 mins later, really enjoyed my meal. Lemon chicken, with beansprouts noodles with spring onion and extra portion of BBQ sauce. Enough left over for my lunch the next day. They also deliver. Enjoyed.

Shockingly overpriced for very average meals. Delivery expensive for local area. Used to be the best takeaway in Haydock.

Made telephone order, waited 20 minutes longer than I should, to then be told, when I asked, that they are busy and it will be another 20 minutes. Never again!

Ordered from here loads of time always nice, this time a massive disappointment. Ordered £25 worth of food only for them to send the wrong sauce even after they read the order back to me. Ordered OK sauce and received Szechuan sauce which way way too spicy. Had already poured all over our food, rang up to tell them we had the wrong sauce and they were totally rude and tried telling me I was lying.

We have used Temptation house for many years and was always our go to takeaway, this week we ordered and was disappointed our meals were overly spiced and my partners was also very runny. This isn’t how we have had it before, plus 2 of us are now ill (myself & my son, we shared a meal) not going back!

We have used this take away for years it was the best around, I say was because the last 18 months it has gone right down hill food it tastes like it has been warmed up. No more free prawn crackers and spent £45 plus a covid charge, the cheek of it !!! gave them the chance to improve over several months but wont be returning.

The last owners were great....I have asked for a garlic sauce which is easy to make but told I can only have chilli and garlic so everything is obviously pre made and garlic sauce is easy especially when you charge £3 to literally come round the corner to my house, 1 minute if that!! I thought everything was fresh and made to order. It can’t be

Best Chinese I have eaten in UK. Excellent quality food. Very reasonable price. Great quantity. Two people can easily eat in less than £20 with a soup, rice and curry. If you can't eat pork or other meat , they will tailor made your dish with sea food. Amazing staff. Proper authentic Chinese. I usually don't give 5 stars to any take away but I'm forced to do this for this take away...Bravo.

Wow! Just had Salt and Pepper Chicken and it was by far the best I've had from a Chinese takeaway ever! So good I felt the need to phone them and say!

We have buying from here for years, at least 5 maybe 10 and always found it to be spot on. Food great and service/delivery always good. Like that they give you an itemised receipt confirming time ordered, the items and prices so you can confirm you have been charged correctly, which we always have from here.

Been a few times now very good food

This has always been one of the most expensive take away but the foods good so.. recently they have increased their prices by 10% which is fair enough given the current situation ( covid 19 ) but they have also reduced their portion sizes. Half a tub of beef curry we’ve just received! Shocking!! It used to be full to the top but now it’s barely half. I will be trying somewhere else in future.

got charged extra due to CoVid -19, food arrived cold not warm COLD, rice looked black with the amount of Soy source they used, all the food went in the bin, my German Shepard dog would not even eat it AVOID AT ALL COST, I will never use this place again utter disgusting.....

I can’t believe what has just happed at this place I phoned up to place my order it should of come to £24 the woman said that’s £34 I said how she said it’s an extra %10 because of the co vid-19 can they do that people that’s a joke will not be going back here again I hope use do the same!

Salt and pepper chicken tasteless, sweet and sour sauce was like water and the chips was over cooked we used to love the food but really gone down hill not sure why

I have used Temptation house a good few times,i found the rice in the Special Fried Rice quite nice but the meat in it has been a let down,it like grissel and fatty chewy bits (Yuk) the veg samosas are reasonably nice sometimes they been burnt around edges,the chips well mainly short crispy bits..... Come on Staff whats happening?.

Old oil was . If you doing meals on old oil all are smelling

We've used this Chinese for a couple of years now and i order the same meal every week or sometimes twice a week. The past 3 times it's been awful. The sauce has definitely been watered down, not at all nice. New chef? Such a shame you've lost a valuable customer.

Vegetable spring rolls, mushroom foo young and vegetable chow mien were absolutely delicious! Will def repeat sometime in the next few nights.

Good menu, nothing too much trouble & food can be collected or delivered, good choice at reasonable prices.

Good manner on telephone, told order would be 30/40 minutes which was fine. Arrived in good time, delivery driver is always chatty and professional. Food was piping hot and was enjoyed by all!

Had the duck in honey and lemon sauce really nicely cooked amazing flavors

We have been going to temptation house for 10 years however we won't be going again. The last 4 or 5 times we've been over the last 6 months the food has been poor quality. Our recent visit though was the worst. Singapore fried rice - we got steak knives out and still couldn't cut through the chicken. It had clearly been cooked HOURS before hand and quickly warmed through. The beef cashew nut was the same story - the sauce was gloop and the beef was like leather. Honey lemon chicken - I don't even know where to start on this one but it would not have been too hard to break your teeth on it. We used to love this Chinese. We travelled to it as everything was fresh, you got a great variety of vegetables in each dish and it was truly superb plus it had an open kitchen. They have since walled off the kitchen and the quality of the food is considerably lower than substandard every time we've visited during the last 6 to 12 months. I'm sorry Temptation House, but after ten years we will now be going to try a different Chinese and will not be returning.

i myself am a Chinese eater every day thought id try somewhere new this place was scum the chicken was like airways chewys the chips were warmed up rock solid the sauce was watered down honeslty listen to me this place needs shutting down!!!! do not eat from here

We went here on the way home from work tonight.I can honestly say it was the worst chinese I have ever had Twenty pounds down the drain all four of us put it straight into the bin starters and mains.Please avoid for your own good.

Great Chinese takeaway. You can phone in your order and have it delivered if you are within a 3 mile radius. Great tasting food at a reasonable price. I have never been disappointed with the food or service.

Food here is the best you cannot beat the Chow Mein or the salt and pepper sui mai. Iv been around abit and nothing compares. If they was on jeat eat or take card payments i would go alot more often. I don't normally carry cash so unable to order often and dont want to be going out to get cash first.

Always go here for a Chinese takeaway, never had a bad meal and there is a lot to choose from. Service is always quick but it can get busy at peak times. Only negative I could say is that it can seem a bit pricey if I get a couple of sides with a main meal. But the food is always quality!!

Been using Temptation for a few years now and never had a bad meal. Thoroughly enjoy everything we have had. In fact I'm ordering tonight. I can recommend the Special Satay with soft noodles.

Terrible food! Cooked in 5 mins, chicken, prawns etc so that was the first red flag and when we got home it was confirmed, everything was dry and tasteless, it was no doubt pre-cooked and reheated. The chicken pieces and prawns tasted like they were frozen supermarket versions, they didn't taste like chinese food at all. Avoid completely, we'll not be returning, worst Chinese food I've ever had!

Just had a meal tonight. 18/06/2016... used this place a few times and been ok. But tonight was awful, spent over £30.00 and all you could taste was salt and nothing else...totally spoiled the meal..will not return now and tell others too

Only take away I buy from love chrispy beef salt pepper chips good food.could do giving free prawn crackers on orders over £15 ;-)
