The best restaurants serving British food in South Wales

A lovely evening with great service. Loved the addition of a birthday cocktail and cake for my partner’s 30th. We felt very well looked after by Mo all evening.

I have never experienced a restaurant with such inconsistent service. It's a shame as the food in my experience is generally nice. For context the last 5 times I have tried to eat at Parc deli the restaurant has been closed despite it being within the stated opening hours, whether it is open or not seems to be a totally arbitrary coin flip. When I am lucky enough to find it open they are often out of fried chicken a staple menu item. Overall a very frustrating experience of a restaurant I enjoy. I will not be returning as it has become a regular issue

Just wandered up to the pub. Half a dozen in the dining room. Woman behind bar, obviously the "boss" chatting to a lady about something across the bar. Got a sideways glance, so I went to a young barmaid who was on her phone. Asked for a pint, but she said she was too young to serve me. She went up to the "boss" who initially ignored her and carried on chatting. Eventually, she acknowledged the presence of the barmaid who told her what I'd ordered. I took a look at the menu, and still, the woman kept on chatting, making no attempt to pour the beer. It was just chatter, nothing more. After a couple more minutes, I said to the barmaid, "Thank you, but don't bother," and I left. Previously, the service had been excellent, but something's obviously changed. Off to find somewhere else to eat. 😪

A good ordering experience on the phone from a lovel lady. It was delivered promptly, and the portions were generous.

I love this place. Great food, great service

Great place for a sunny afternoon, beautiful seating down by the ford. We suffered two punctures so stopped off to find an inner tube at the bike shop. We were disappointed to find the bike shop was closed so we instead bought some of the fantastic ciders and set about with a puncture repair kit instead. The cider made it worth the stop!

Siguiendo los años pasados con la Navidad y la calidad de la carne, volví a Market Deli y compré toda mi carne navideña de nuevo para 2024. No puedo volver a hacer hincapié en lo bueno que es el pavo enrollado y deshuesado. además de esto compré los cerdos en mantas y relleno producido localmente. La calidad de los productos fue excepcional. El personal es atento y amable y ofrece excelentes consejos. Recomiendo totalmente el Market Deli y los volveré a usar para productos a lo largo de 2025

The restaurant is well spaced and nicely lit and the food was great - well cooked and nicely presented. The staff were friendly and attentive. Overall a lovely experience!

First time visiting Bistro 8 with friends and honestly can say what an absolute amazing experience. To start, the restaurant was laid out beautifully with plenty of room between tables. The menu was full of a range of types of food, with gluten free, vegan and vegetarian options. I decided to go for the Vegan Curry - i was blown away! the flavours of the curry were so lovely and the presentation was amazing. There was a side of rice with some dips on the side which complimented the curry lovely. By far the best vegan curry i have ever had. My friend had a vegetarian lasagna and thoroughly enjoyed it & my other friend had a bacon and mushroom pasta dish which looked and smelt amazing - also enjoyed very much. Jasmine looked after us this evening - so so friendly and made sure we were happy at all times. Jasmine offered to show us allergen menus and put my mind at ease by reassuring all ingredients in the dish were vegan. Outstanding service from Jasmine. It is really refreshing to visit a restaurant that is so friendly and attentive to customers - i cannot wait to visit again with my family!!
