My wife and I had a light lunch here recently and were very pleased with the service and the food. Would highly recommend the poached eggs and smashed avocado on toast. Excellent and friendly service.

Absolutely lovely county homely pub . Leah and paul are so very welcoming and can’t do enough . There was an outside mobile food event the evening we went but there were no vegetarian options so Leah insisted she do a special dish for me . My vegi burger was the best I’ve ever had and the presentation and sides were fantastic . There was a band playing . Great atmosphere, great pub , well worth eating there . We will be back ❤️

Wow, what an amazing Restaurant, the little plates were out of this world, so many excellent dishes served by very attentive staff. The surrounding are beautifully decorated and such a lovely ambience. Can’t wait to go back again.

Visited this afternoon, lovely welcome from staff, food and atmosphere was excellent. Planned music evenings which we plan to attend! If you come to Abergavenny visit the Vaults. We are locals and we loved it. Plain and simple menu with reasonable prices. Wonderful chips

Whilst the Cafe is clean, quirky with friendly staff I fail to understand the concept of high cost low quality, low portion food. Full Breakfast nearly £10 which was served on a tea plate (long and narrow version) in which the Quality is just as good if not better at the local greasy spoon, with more food for the money at around £4 cheaper per head. Probably would not recommend to any person, as there are plenty of main stream cafe’s that offer the same for less. It’s definitely catering and cashing in on the richer person. It’s not about not being able to afford it, it’s about having to pay £30 for a morning munch that really you can get for half the price, with no difference in quality and more on the plate! Breakfast was not tasteless or poor just the costing of it is, with what seems to be a kids sized (adult meal) with no real standing out to justify the price!

Came to Abergavenny for a wander and something to eat, couldn’t decide on where to dine as we walked through the town, my wife didn’t want us to pay some of the prices of the lovely looking restaurants as we passed. So fish and chips it was and what a treat it was! Beautiful batter, perfect chips and super efficient service. Only 3 stars for atmosphere, which is a little unfair, they aren’t seeking to provide that experience. This was an every bit as good as award winning fish and chips we had recently in Anstruther Scotland. Thanks, we will be back!

Run by youngsters without supervision. Very slow service, considering the place was empty. Tables left dirty with used mugs/cups/plates etc. staff decided to clean the air con unit about the service counter, which displayed food etc. Customers in and out and walking around a ladder and other bits. Disappointed we had chosen this venue to meet up with friends, so many other choices in town.

Our recent visit left much to be desired, marred by a series of disheartening lapses in both service and ambiance. To begin, the individual who took our order seemed bewildered by the mere mention of alternative milk—a basic expectation in today’s dining standards. The beverage selection was equally uninspiring. To our dismay, Earl Grey, along with any other quality teas, was notably absent, replaced instead by the most pedestrian option: Tetley. The vegetarian breakfast was a particular letdown—served cold and woefully undercooked. Such careless preparation only compounded the disappointment. The service was mechanical at best, with staff who appeared disinterested, their lack of enthusiasm perhaps reflective of the dreary weather outside. The atmosphere was further dampened by an uninspired music playlist and insufficient lighting, which together created a rather bleak dining environment. While the service was notably swift, one couldn't help but feel that this efficiency came at the expense of quality and care—an unfortunate trade-off. That’s okay. It did the job :)
