The best restaurants serving British food in Cardiff South Wales

The food was not bad it's was okay, I was disappointed that the pork tomahawk sizzling plate didn't come out with a sizzle on it. The garlicbread was undercooked and the hunters chicken didn't have any bbq sauce on it. Poor lady behind the bar was serving on her on as it was so busy

Ordered a jacket potatoe, chips were given. No fried onions or tomatoes as the menu states. Extremely short staffed. Miserable dire atmosphere due to the fact they are closing down soon. Noone came to ask if everything was OK. Food poorly presented and luke warm. We feel ripped off. Hoping it gets taken over and turned around. Waste of money.

Lugar agradable que estaba casi lleno, buen ambiente, y un servicio amable. Muy buen desayuno y café. Sorprendido por las malas críticas recientes.

Grandes opciones de rollos de desayuno, panecillos de almuerzo calientes y fríos, sándwich de dedo de pescado, etc, etc. Precios razonables. Personal encantador. Bonito entorno en el parque.

Este lugar no vale la pena. Es mejor tenerlo en casa realmente, las papas son duras, frías y desordenadas, con un sabor extraño y extraño, frijoles fríos con sabor metálico y queso fuerte. Personal grosero. No es de extrañar que este lugar siempre esté vacío, es un desastre caro

Had to find my own menu as none on table. Ordered food and drink took nearly 10 mins to pay as card machine faulty. After waiting 30 mins ( pub not busy )our food arrived and only at this point was told to help ourselves to cutlery and sauces around the corner.I was shocked at both the poor quality and tiny size of the serviettes and had to use 8 for 2 of us. My mother's pie was overcooked and quite dry . I had the meal with a small steak, 5 chicken wings and double cheeseburger , corn on cob and fries .The skillet that the wings and steak was on was not sizzling and I could hold the skillet for 4 or 5 seconds . Whilst I left full I was really disappointed and the burger was bland even adding my own salt which I have never had to do before . Some tables had wet marks from glasses and had not been wiped over . I would not revisit the Three Elms Whitchurch due to my experience and the pub was not even busy .

Have dined here a few times in the past food has always been exceptional, firstly this is connected with what was Jurys Inn Hotel, now Leonardo, but you can dine here if not staying in the hotel obviously you may need to book beforehand or try your luck asking for a table, I booked ! Tomato soup to start which was obviously home made and tasted delicious, for mains the half roast chicken with accompaniments was really tasty and highly recommended, all washed down with a pint of Budweiser see my photos and judge for yourself. This place is a little gem near the centre of Cardiff.

Since Lidl knocked down the skittle alley at the back and the pub changed managment (during covid) the place has gone to the dogs. Rough (very), run down, dirty, no real ales anymore, no food, the lounge room smells disgusting and the staff grumpy and unhelpful.

Good food as for the kabab it you want a kabab it will be in a pitta bread unless you request a naan bread but they don't ask if you have a preference

The thing I notice most when I visit the Aneurin Bevan is how hard working the staff are. They never stop, always on there feet. They could probably do with an extra member of staff. It goes without saying that the food and drinks on offer are extensive and cheaper than other local pubs.

All in all, pretty meh, food was alright, service was only a tad bit better than the food, the interior of the establishment felt like it would do rounds in the modern Internet horror space.

Although it looks nice, the food is of a poor quality, if a chef is employed, then they are more of a cafe cook. Slops is all I can describe it as. The meal I had included Avacado, what I was served was guacamole, there is a difference.
