Oh wow the decor from the outside tempting but looks expensive and shiny. Then you walk in and feel like you've walked into a diner from the legendary era of film and movie stars. Only it's you that's the special occasion and your friends and family who love the inside and friendly feel of the singing and ambience. I love you all that you for making me feel at home. Sweet potato fries and a black coffee is my recommendation. Hope you enjoy as much as I did Thank you

For a fish and chip shop, you would think they would know how to cook fish. My takeaway contained uncooked batter on haddock. In addition, the chips were a soggy mess having not be drained properly. A brioche bun chip butty??? Curry sauce was good, but guessing that was bought in. Maybe a bad night, but def not going back.

Lovely welcoming team , the food was good pub grub standard , piping hot and good portions . Decor clean and modern , would be nice to have real candles on the table rather than battery ones 😀

We ate on a busy Friday night and seated promptly. We ordered bruschetta for starters which were excellent. However, they took over half an hour to arrive. The pizza main course arrived soon after and was very disappointing. The base was floppy and slightly under baked. The cheese topping was way too excessive. We had no welfare checks at all during our meal so maybe you are expected to fetch your own drinks? Not a problem as such but it took a while to get served. It was the same when it was time to pay the bill. No interaction from any staff so back to the busy bar to wait to pay. The staff are friendly enough but you had the feeling that one or two more staff would have made a vast difference. Disappointing overall so we shall not return.

We were in Llanidloes area sorting my mum’s house out and just wanted somewhere to have a breakfast and evening meal….. we were welcomed by landlady Clare who was super friendly and accommodating… we had our key and our room was everything we needed for our stay, we had everything we needed even down to a fan, the room was lovely and warm as we opened the door on a cold evening , we unpacked and went down to the bar and asked if we can have food and promptly had a table … all staff were very friendly and polite and the food was delicious 😋 we stayed 6 nights but sadly was not told that no food is served on a Sunday/Monday.James (chef ) the landlord was friendly and always came to talk and chat with us both after service which is important. Our first breakfast was lovely - Clare was very welcoming and so lovely to talk to . Would we recommend The Mount Inn ? 💯 😊 we did meet many locals and they were lovely and friendly 🥰 and we will be back 👍 We are from South West Wales and it’s so lovely to be in such a welcoming atmosphere just like home 🏠the only issue we had was the the tv reception which I did mention to Clare( I love my soaps ) was bad due to recent storms which is totally understandable Diolch🥰 Vickie a Phil x

Just an overnight stay with friends. Parking was available at no cost and the bars and dining experiences were ideal for our purposes. We had the 'cheaper' rooms which were adequate and comfortable for the one night. Location is brilliant for a short stroll into the town. Would be more than happy to go there again.

We took the family here for Sunday lunch after hearing mixed reviews (mainly negative reviews on appearance rather than service or food) Personally we could have overlooked the dated decor and slightly slow service had the food been better. However unfortunately the food was very salty and vegetables were slightly overcooked. Meat was tasty and Yorkshire puddings were large and crisp on the outside, exactly as we like them. Overall an okay experience, which could be made so much better with a little bit of extra attention to detail. We would return and try it again.

3rd visit, we love it here, staff/venue/food all excellent. Village is lovely to wander round, lots of lovely walks and when you need to stop for a refreshment the pubs are full of friendly locals. Lots of places to visit, very central for so many places

My son, my partner and I travelled here from Brecon (roughly an hour and a quarter car journey.) This place attracted us with my partner being gluten and lactose intolerant and the entire menu was designed for people like her. We were greeted by a friendly barman and he pointed out to our table for the evening which also had enough room for our sons’s pushchair. We were then served by a fantastic waitress I believe was called Rhian. Once food and drinks were ordered we had some time to have a look at the warm and comfortable restaurant. Our starters arrived which were meatballs & linguine- absolutely delicious. We then had a short wait for our mains which were lasagne and a burger which were equally delicious! Half through our mains my girlfriend became unwell (something she suffers with from time to time) and Rhian could not be more helpful and understanding. She very nicely packed away the rest of my partners dinner all separately. Rhian also made sure we still went away with a takeaway dessert, the chocolate brownie which is incredible. All of this being amazing I think the finishing touch was the fact that the landlady made an effort to go around and speak to every table eating that evening, a really lovely and sweet person! I fully recommend dining here with or without the intolerances would give 20/10 if I could.

I can hardly find the words to describe how special this place is., and I am VERY fussy. Everything - tea, coffee, scones were superb. The lovely owner runs the cafe and post office single-handedly, but still found time to chat and gave us lots of tips about local places of interest. She bakes the cakes and scones herself each day, and it shows - everything tasted wonderful and fresh. She offered us newspapers, and came back to ask if we had enough jam and cream ( we did)….all the while serving post office customers too. A post office in such a small village is probably pretty vulnerable to closure, so she is a real hero, working so hard to keep it viable and open for the local community. The cafe is tiny, only 3 tables. A local couple there when we arrived were very friendly too, so we had a lovely time in Montgomery. Do not miss out on this place if you are within reach of it, Ivy House is unique and absolutely amazing.

Came here twice in one week while staying around the corner. Very friendly welcome, everyone was lovely! Food was really nice, had something different on both visits and was very happy with the food every time My husband said it was the best mixed grill he had ever had Will definitely return again when visiting the area
