Arrived on a scorching hot day with the dog for brunch as we were visiting the area. Decided to sit outside in the shade, dog water available and when we went into order we were offered a doggy biscuit for the hound! Two locally sourced full English breakfasts, orange juice and americano coffee went down well. The staff were attentive and polite, the toilets were lovely. Overall I’m hard to please but would recommend!

This was a great find. The girls were super friendly, warm and welcoming, as was Oatie the puppy! The home made beans on toast was scrummy and felt healthy compared to my boyfriends eggs royal! Coffee was great too (oat flat white, I find some places use not so tasty oat milk) Thank you for a lovely breaky!

On a glorious sunny May day, stopped for lunch. Had Eggs Benedict which I would strongly recommend, and as for their coffee, well, I do not know where it comes from, but it was the best coffee I have had in ages. Those who think that chain coffee shops serve coffee need to come here to find out what it REALLY tastes like. Cheerful service, this petite cafe does a great job with a sensible and appealing menu.

A shame - seems like the place has real potential. Ordered a hot chocolate - was luke warm, no marshmallows available as they normally have them hand made. Flat white grim. Staff left menus and previous customer’s cutlery / cups on our table for whole visit. Baked goods looked delicious but barista/ service needs improving! Disappointing for a £10 spend.

Fab little cafe with fantastic cakes made on the premises. I had an Easter cake consisting of a sugary croissant 'cup' filled with chocolate cream topped with mini eggs. Really distinctive & very tasty.

Came to cafe especially for lunch but was really disappointed by the whole experience. The soup we ordered was a small portion and not very tasty -we had to wait a rediculous amount of time for it to arrive with no apology,Sausage rolls uncovered and not in chiller not acceptable The girls behind the counter seemed uninterested and more concerned with their mobile phones not telling customers there was space upstairs and a few walked out as a result. Could be good but needed someone in charge to oversee it

Lovely cute cafe with a exciting menu and incredible food. Slightly more than you may ordinarily pay for breakfast but absolutely worth it. The chef here is a talent!

A small menu, but who's worrying when it's good ? I had the "smashed peas on sourdough" and it was the best thing I'd had for an age. Plus good tea. Nice to sit outside as well (before the next heavy downpour arrived....). Thanks.

A new eatery in Brecon. The Whole experience was excellent. Knowledgeable and attentive staff without being overbearing. Fabulous food (especially the home made sausage). We will definitely be returning in the very near future

Friendly staff, hearty, simple menu, great coffee. We stopped here after walking Crickhowell to Brecon via the Black Mountains. They weren’t bothered about muddy boots but we took off at door anyway. Toilets immaculate. Chef’s playlist that could be heard in the dining area - not a bad song on it for about an hour. Good on him!!

We stopped here to break up a long journey. Straight away it seemed very unwelcoming. My son is autistic, and because he seemed more comfortable in the corner section we asked to move tables. We were advised that was the dog friendly section, and obviously we would move if needed, it was quiet at the time, but this seem like an inconvenience to move tables. Then when my son was wandering in the pub, this seemed to annoy a couple of guests, and I know he seemed hyperactive but these are some of his autistic traits, this seemed to annoy one couple in particular, where the man was making very rude comments ( I know you have no control over who comes into your pub) but overall it just felt very unwelcoming in there. Are kids not allowed in here? It didn't seem like it. We come past this pub often, so we will not be stopping here again.

We dropped in without booking hoping to get lunch. I was with my friend and her disabled dad. They were able to offer us a table and from the start the experience was excellent. The staff member ( I think it was the Manager) came out to the car park to see if we needed any help with the wheelchair. We were promptly seated and drinks and food order taken quickly. All members of staff were polite and friendly. The food came in a good waiting time and we were all really pleased with the food. I had an ultimate burger, my friend a Thai beef dish and her dad an all day breakfast. Great portion sizes, hot and all tasty. Really reasonably priced as well ! Thankyou for such a great experience

My wife and I were staying in a B&B in Berriew which didn’t cook evening meals on a Sunday, so we decided to try this inn for our dinner. We arrived without reservations, but were quickly shown to a table by a very pleasant member of staff who immediately took our drinks order. The drinks arrived and we ordered our food soon after. It didn’t take long for the food to arrive, and it looked very well presented. My wife had lasagne, which she told me was hot and tasty, however my steak and ale pie with chips was not quite so. Again, my meal was hot, but the meat in the pie was very grisly, which was a shame as the pastry was excellent. The chips and beans with my meal were first class, so absolutely no problems with them. As we ate our meal the chef came out and asked if everything was okay with the food. I told him about the meat in the pie, to which he laughed and then walked away. Now, what’s the point in asking me about my meal if you are not going to take action when you receive such a comment? Anyway, we finished the meal and went up to the bar to pay, at which time we were asked again if all was okay. I told the member of staff at the bar about the meat and this time it had a totally different outcome, in that someone, whom I took to be the manager, became involved, and she showed concern about the fact that my meal had not been perfect. She also told me that she would be having words with the supplier about said pie. We ended the conversation coming to an amicable agreement of a goodwill gesture, so I’m more than happy with the outcome. If it had not have been for the issue with the pie then this meal would have been almost perfect, in that the staff were lovely, the restaurant was clean and in a good state of decoration, and the service was first rate. My only other comment would be that the prices were a tad dearer than around my home city of Leicester, but not unusual for a country inn.
