We have to buy in bulk, and transport talerddig sausage rools over 300 miles for our daughter, that tells you everything you need to know. Lovely bread too

Phew. When we moved here 10 years ago The Harp was legendary both us a pub and as somewhere to eat. We went there ourselves and recommended it to others. Then the woderful couple he owned it had to leave. Cue a long period when it was bascially avoidable. Now with new owners it's back to its best. Food is straightfoward, intersting, served well, and very well priced. Wine is amazing - the mark-ups are very refreshing and the choice is excellent. Basically everything is back to what it was and you need to support them!!

Stopped here after a local walk and was greeted by a friendly landlord, which set the tone for an amenable lunch. Perfect homemade faggots and ham, egg and chips. The selection of real ales and good wine complemented the food. Not easy to come across when touring as it sits on a real minor road. But worth the effort...... Will definitely visit again.

We went there a couple of weeks ago and must apologise for taking so long to post a review. We went there with our son & his wife. The meal was delicious, no other word for it. The staff were welcoming, very friendly & helpful. The meal was very reasonably priced. We have tried lots of eating places around the area when we visit our family and we would certainly go back to this one.

The best roast dinner I’ve eaten out anywhere, ever. I’m a good cook and often disappointed by roast dinner out, but this was very good and very tasty. Delicious cheesy leeks were a lovely addition to the roast, which came with lots of fresh veg. The Roast Ox is a great pub with very friendly staff. A party of 8 of us, plus our 2 dogs, were made very welcome. I only wish we didn’t live 3 hours away, as I’d be there every Sunday!

On arrival our table had to be cleared and set up which wasn't the best way to start. Once we had ordered our food we then had over an hour's wait. By the time it arrived we didn't feel that hungry. The salmon came with new potatoes, however, these were black in places, warmed up and inedible...my friend's steak was a combination of medium rare and over done! Think the problem stemmed from the fact there had been a 40th birthday party earlier and the two staff were struggling to cope with everything. If we had been informed of the large group, we would have rebooked. Not a great experience and probably won't be returning.

We went in as a family of 5 with a wheelchair (having to turned back from another pub which we couldn't get the chair in). We loved it from the moment we walked in - the SA flag on the wall did help, as the well as the Halloween decorations - madly busy but fantastic fun. The staff were really helpful and friendly and the food, although a long wait , it was exceptionally fantastic - obviously made to order too! Look forward to returning, hopefully at Christmas.
