On arrival our table had to be cleared and set up which wasn't the best way to start. Once we had ordered our food we then had over an hour's wait. By the time it arrived we didn't feel that hungry. The salmon came with new potatoes, however, these were black in places, warmed up and inedible...my friend's steak was a combination of medium rare and over done! Think the problem stemmed from the fact there had been a 40th birthday party earlier and the two staff were struggling to cope with everything. If we had been informed of the large group, we would have rebooked. Not a great experience and probably won't be returning.

Fab night with friends, great food (the Blueberry & Almond tart was particularly delish!) and service. Our server was ‘Ginger Jo’….so attentive and friendly - she’s definitely a keeper!

Everything apart from the food was good I'm afraid to say. Very average pub food but with a cheffy restaurant pricetag. All too common it seems. Much like the Hafod hotel and Glengover in Aberystwyth. If you are going to charge around the £25 mark for a mains it needs to deliver. Lacked a depth of flavour. Plain and bland food. Will not be going back. I suggest the owners go for a meal at Yr ffarmers for an idea of standards expected at that price tag. Would be great to have The hungry Ram producing similar!

The location & view is great. Building & decor were good. However, the food was disappointing & bland compared to other similarly priced local establishments.

We took our time enjoying an excellent two course Sunday lunch with drinks. Four generations of family found dishes to delight them. The staff were helpful tweaking one dish to suit one particular taste. Cheesy leeks, crispy roast potatoes were favourites. All the veg was served well.....at other Sunday roast places the veg can end up over cooked, not here. Thank you - we will return.

We went to the Hungry Ram for our work Christmas Lunch yesterday (03 December 2023), the hostess was super friendly and knowledgeable about the food and all of the staff were extremely attentive. The food was delicious, obviously freshly prepared and piping hot. I cleared my plate and went on to have an amazing mandarin and ginger trifle which was 10/10! The staff are mainly bilingual, I’m a Welsh learner and it was lovely to hear the staff speaking English and Welsh to different guests. The decor reflects the buildings origins which I love and it shows a great respect for the local community. I will be returning and recommending the Hungry Ram for future events.

I'm sure everyone is trying very hard to make this place a success but reading the reviews I've realised that most folk are pretty easily pleased. My feeling is that they can produce meals ok but the standard, having been there twice now, is really not much above a typical school dinner. Unfortunately, just not somewhere I would look forward to going to again. The big echo-y room is a bit like being in the canteen of a refugee centre - it could be improved I'm sure, perhaps it's just that most people are happy with it the way it is. However despite the downsides the Hungry Ram is also no bargain eatery (you could forgive it if it was) and frankly one might just as well go to the Harbourmaster a few miles away for a great meal at much the same price. I wish the place every success but a re-think is needed - more innovate menus and a bit of a makeover - you could try asking that chap on Mull (Banjo Beale) for some ideas.

Been recommended here a few times by a work colleague and it didn’t disappoint, had some lovely food and service was amazing thanks to the 2 lovely waitresses present. Felt somewhat naughty drinking a pint in an old school and brought back some memories of my old primary school. Would recommend and will visit again …. Totally recommend the belly pork, it was amazing and not too fatty.

We visited on a Thursday night whilst staying nearby for my husband’s birthday. We really loved the old school building, really well converted into a lovely restaurant with beautiful views. The service was great and the waitress was really helpful and friendly. The food was delicious and we couldn’t fault it. Would definitely visit again if we come back to the area.

The Hungry Ram is a super find. A really welcoming restaurant with great views off the outside balcony. The 'front of house' - Katie and Catrin - are friendly, helpful and really can't do enough for you. The food is very, very good - prepared by Nia, Head Chef, and Lin, Sous Chef. Amazing to find that Nia is only 22 but cooks food with real flair and flavour - excellent. We had steaks and pork belly - a really good dinner. If you're in the Ceredigion area, you really need to visit The Hungry Ram.

We had a really lovely meal at the Hungry Ram. My husband had the Sirloin Steak which was perfectly seasoned. I had the King Prawn and Chorizo Linguini which was delicious. We didnt have room for a desert but I am sure they would have been equally good. Set in an old school building with the big doors seperating the two sides, what would have been infant and juniors, took me back to my school days. The more modern decor with the walls clad in corrugated metal was inspired. All the staff were very attentive. The only fault is.....its not open all the time other wise we would have been more often. Sitting on the balcony with the wonderful view enjoying a glass of wine and a beer was perfect. Thank you Hungry Ram.

We went here twice in a week and both times the food and service were excellent. My wife had the risotto and chicken and I had the steak with cowboy butter. Both perfect. It’s a little out of the way but we were staying less than a mile down the road. But it is wort the effort to find.

Food was very good. It’s very noisy and being an old school strangely is sparse and has little atmosphere. It really does not know what theatre it is. Anyway bland design. Terrible seating and table cutlery. Basically a canteen atmosphere but not canteen prices. Worth a visit but I think not to our taste - plenty more places to go.

We went for Sunday lunch. There was Pork loin or Beef to choose from. We chose pork and it was lovely. There were 7 side vegetables, all beautifully cooked also Apple sauce and gravy. For desert there was a large choice. I chose the home made meringues with summer fruits and whipped cream. The meringues were crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. They were beautiful as they were not too sweet and the fruit and cream complemented the meringues very well. My husband chose the home made apple flan with ice cream and that was also very much enjoyed. The staff are very welcoming and we will certainly be back. Thank you.

The View certainly has the Wow Factor! From the comfortable, modern vibe to the fabulous hosting, Lorraine with her team made our Sunday lunchtime ( and Friday coffees) an absolute pleasure. It really did feel like the customer’s needs were at the heart of what is offered. The carvery totally reached the spot with a very reasonable price tag. What more could we have hoped for. Thank you x
