The Market Cross in Bury St Edmund's Buttermarket is coming to life again. For too long this elegant Robert Adams building was neglected but now it's becoming a gallery and venue for live music, comedy, arts and crafts, theatre, dance lessons, markets and somewhere to enjoy good food in a relaxed atmosphere. I recently held a Big Birthday party for 35 guests and everyone was impressed by the welcome, the service, food and value for money plus there's a lift to the first floor.

If your working in Dyce I fully recommend this place. Really good food. The place is spotless and modern. The team of ladies in the kitchen and on the counter are quick friendly and very professional. The Breakfast rolls and soup of the day are tremendous. Full of flavour. You can tell they don’t scrimp on the quality of produce. The PHILLY cheese steak ciabatta is immense. I’m up here for 2 more weeks and I certainly will be getting my breakfast/lunch from here most days.

Whilst touring the area found this pub courtesy of “Google” maps. Right opposite is a small Pay & display car park with more spaces 40 metres away. At the time of visiting one hour was free provided you got a ticket, however a “local” at the bar informed me that from June they were axing this “free” period. It’s a low door into this old pub, but once inside I was welcomed by the landlord who confirmed that meals were being served. It was a darkish place but they were happy to chat and when my soup arrived it was piping hot and enjoyable. This being May in Scotland it was extremely stormy and a soup and a sandwich fitted the bill and not expensive either. Recommended. Photo is of Eider Ducks on the coast near the Ship Inn.

Not the world's greatest carvery but very good still. The meats were all well cooked and a decent selection of veg. Maybe a bit tight on the meat considering I got a large, not much difference between my other halfs which was a regular size. Would go back again.

Overall correct but below our expectations: the blue cooking required for the beef was limited, the accompaniments not very elaborate or sophisticated and the industrial sauces (what a shame!) Plates generously served. Certain whiskey references presented on the menu were no longer available and obtaining advice is not easy. Approximate but attentive and friendly service.

We found Prince of Wales via Google search, saw it was close to our hotel, and walked over. We were only going to stay for a drink or two then ended up staying until almost closing time. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great drinks and tasty food. The pub quiz night was a fun surprise, and the host was very nice and fun as well. Overall wonderful experience talking with locals and a few other tourists.

I arrived just before closing but was only looking for a take away coffee. The staff were so rude and made me feel uncomfortable- and I was out of shop before closing time. I won’t return which is a shame as I will be making that journey regularly
