Promenade Café in Aberdeen City

Shocking Shocking..visited yesterday, ordered a set breakfast and two poached eggs separately.my friend had the set breakfast and after one bite said the sausage tasted funny.indeed it wasn't funny, she is still in bed after spending hours on the loo and violent vomiting. i ran around Aberdeen trying to find a 24 hour chemist which doesn't exist.i visited on 12/11/23 at approximately 11am.Destroyed my last day in Aberdeen.Avoid this cafe at all cost

One of the worst fish and chips we’ve had for a while. Had to wait over the specified time, the chips were like cardboard, whilst the fish was freshly cooked and a decent sized portion the batter is terrible, not light and crispy but heavy and a bit tough to cut through! Asked for salt & vinegar, pretty certain there was no vinegar, and the gravy was a flavourless gloop. The good ratings here must be for the ice cream side, otherwise it’s making a living from its location. A huge disappointment.

My two teenage daughters wanted an ice cream at the end of a very long walk and to be honest, so did I, and so we walked a bit more and this place seemed to be the only area serving. We ordered at the window, rather than from within the shop and the lady was happy, but being the end of the day, I think she didn't have the energy to engage in trivial conversation, which was fine. However, the ice creams that we ordered was fabulous, and for that reason you should pop in!

My husband and I were with our two granddaughters, who wanted ice cream. The waitress was very patient with them while they chose what flavours they wanted. My husband had a lovely latte and I had a delicious home made pancake and a cold drink.Lovely clean cafe. Food being delivered to other tables looked very appetising.

I ordered a potion of chicken fillets, a portion of chips and a fresh orange I asked for a tap water for my two year old and was told ‘we don’t do tap water here’ and that I would have to buy a bottle, honestly I was so taken back because I’ve never been refused a glass of tap water in Scotland. The chicken filets were so cheap tasting but the price at certainly weren’t cheap. Would not return.

Great restaurant with super menu & lovely staff. We were a party of 5 adults & 2 children, 1 requiring a high chair. Restaurant was very busy but nothing was too much trouble, staff got us sorted, took our orders & then after a very short wait delivered our food..delicious. our youngsters got their choice of ice cream with sprinkles & we're delighted. Many thanks for a great experience, we'll definitely be going back on our next visit to Aberdeen

Prices way too much for what you get, paid £5 for a bacon roll which the bun came soggy and over buttered to the point of it being sickly, also asking for tap water they said they don’t have tap water and needed to buy a bottle, too pricey and disappointed with the food considering the prices, much better places on the beach front

If your down the beach you have to have an icecream from here! We always have whippy with strawberry sauce but the also have other ice creams as well! Don’t be put off by the queue! There is a queue for a reason!!! Others know that the ice cream is worth the wait! Can’t wait to have another

We had french toast and maple syrup, soup and a roll, two coffees. prices were reasonable and food delicious. Service was very good, a very enjoyable experience

Amazing service and ice cream, the staff are always very friendly and willing to go the extra mile to give you what you want, nothing is too much for them! The ice cream whether it is the whippy or the ice cream counter they are all amazing and so flavoursome. Can’t wait to return for more ice cream!

I came in here for a takeaway before catching the ferry home. Service was quick and the staff were friendly but that was the only good point. I ordered scampi and chips and a bottle of water which cost £9, which is ok for a decent meal but this was not. There was only 6 pieces of scampi which was shocking, i've never had such a poor portion and there was so much salt it was almost inedible and i couldn't finish my chips. If i had the time i would have gone back to complain, i will not be going there again!

There was no alternative milk options for people allergic or vegan. Very sad. And the hot chocolate my partner had was underwhelming and was not properly mixed. Please expand your milk options it’s 2021 :)

Nice little beachfront cafe, great food, beautiful view, good service, reasonably priced. I was curious to try Scottish food so ordered fish and chips, and Scottish tablet to take away. Really liked both. Very nice place.

For a full Scottish breakfast excellent service and friendly staff you cannot get better than this in Aberdeen. Pet friendly at outside tables with water bowl on hand, we were all very well looked after .
