Came after based on Google maps review. Enjoyed the beer and ale pie. Very delicious. They also have a wide assortment of alcohol. Nice vibe with a friendly and attentive service team.

Disappointed that they had no fish or scampi available on my recent visit. Also we were told that we had just got the last two remaining steak pies. We arrived just after 1200hrs so was not expecting there to be some menu items unavailable or low in numbers.

Great lunch, great service! Loved our time and were made to feel at home by the attentive staff and great home cooked food! Second time here, wish we could come more often but sadly live out the city! Highly recommend this place!

We had a well prepared fish and chips that was served professionally. The Bar Tenders (BT) were engaging and proactive and our orders were promptly taken and meal presented with 7 minutes. Inside the Bar was calm and there was lots of space, enabling guest walk freely. I have not visited the toilet, however I believed it will be cleaned. While the Bar is one minute walk to Bon-Accord, it is 30 minutes walk to the Aberdeen Beach Village and 6 minutes to the Marischal College.

Such a good place, give it a try, good beer , spirit's and service.

A 'proper' pub with a very large selection of draught ales and lagers. Basic pub grub served by efficient and cheerful staff. Good idea to book a table any lunchtime as is very popular.

Real homely place, staff are lovely. Anya was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble! I’ve been here many times and the water station is such a great touch!

A really great pub where you can sit and relax and feel welcome and 'safe' inside. It's nice and cosy and the staff were very friendly when I was there. Toilets were spotless. They have a great range of drinks of offer and I loved the different fruity cider I tried. I didn't have anything from the menu as I'd already eaten earlier, but I definitely will be back soon to order some food as it looked good.

I was really disappointed in this place years ago it was excellent but not now. First of all I don't think the manager's customer skills was great as there was 5 of us and the tables are set up for 4 people and I asked him to put another chair at our table which he did but when I thanked him he never said a word and walked away. Apart from my food everyone else's food was nice they all said but really disappointed with mine I couldn't eat it there scottish favourite used to be proper home made food put together but for example I think there mashed potato is just instant or out of a packet and my beef olives was cold and hard

Stopped by here on way to Xmas market in Aberdeen. One of the oldest pubs in the city. Very busy for a Thursday afternoon which is a good sign. I had pulled mushroom chilli. A bit different but tasted really nice. Wife had scampi and daughter had beef burger. I had a nice pint of Guinness. Wife and daughter gin spritzers. Overall cost £56. Reasonable on this day and age.

Great pub, if a bit busy at times...as you would expect from a city centre pub! Staff are super friendly and attentive, make a decent steak pie!

Marco was ace. Good barman. Owners if you see this, give him a raise. We planned one drink here but stayed for 5 hours.

Wow! What a gem of a place!! Tucked away just off Union Street, this bar takes you back to when pubs were all great. Fabulous interior and a range of real ales to choose from, I found myself spoilt for choice. Well worth a visit if you get the chance!! 👍

Superb place to eat and enjoy a drink albeit we had soft drinks as was driving. The service was really good considering how busy they were, which is testament to the lovely food they serve up and at a very reasonable price, portions are right up my street. You must try and visit here otherwise you are going to miss out for sure.

Arrived after forced layover due to a cancelled flight. Was looking for comfort food in an authentic environment, this they had in spades. Was made feel welcome and comfortable as a solo traveller though would like to revisit with company.

Basic menu, pricey. No heating on .

Visited this Greene king pub while visiting family, loved the atmosphere, although initially we only went in for a drink. We got speaking to a lovely staff member called Charlie who talked us into having lunch while we were there, well done great recommendations enjoyed the lunch immensely. Great service.

Longest none horseshoe shaped bar in Scotland. Est. 1840 and full of character, a must visit when in Aberdeen. Great bar man but need to stock Captain Morgan spiced.

Nourriture excellente et service impeccable.

Poor show Sunday lunchtime. Popped in for a quick pint. Stood at the bar and waited... and waited.... no one behind the bar for at least 15 minutes. Like the Marie Celeste. Finally a member of bar staff came up from the cellar and proceeded to serve a bloke who had literally just walked in.....at that point I walked out but made my thoughts known. I get that its quiet on a Sunday bit stilll......to leave the entire bar unattended for so long, is frankly unprofessional. Wont be rushing back ....neither it would appear are the bar staff who are supposed to be serving customers.

During our visit, we had our son with us. We felt rushed from the moment we entered. ORDER EAT LEAVE. It was ridiculous. The young woman who was apparently in charge kept going on about licensing. We felt really unwelcome. Stop allowing children if this is the way staff behave. I emailed Scott Lyall a month ago as requested. I am still waiting for a reply.

Great local establishment offering classic “Pub Grub” food and drinks. Good selection of cask ales on offer too. Clean throughout and friendly service. Food was tasty and quick to arrive. Portion sizes are fine for the price paid, Steak and ale pie was delicious. Highly recommend this hidden gem whether you’re a local or just visiting !

Silkie Stout from Loch Lomond was a real treat! Would highly recommend as a Traditional Scottish Pub with friendly staff and a warm atmosphere!

What a great pub,although NOT a huge fan of the "creepy alley"It could do with a little bit more lighting,but Once your in,a warm welcome awaits you and with great pub grub you need to give this place a try.The service is also good.

A bigger plate for my Balmoral Burger would have been better also the Coleslaw should be served in its own dish and not in the Burger as not everyone like's some coleslaw's,I know I don't. Other than that food was good and we both enjoyed our meals.

Been going here for 40 years. Popped in for a drink while awating bus or taxi . Place almost deserted despite music and weekend night. Over assertive youngish dark haired barmaid refused me service saying "I had had too much to drink"! This was completely and obviously untrue. A guy drinking at the customer side of the bar who says he is the Manager backed her up despite having had a few himself. Higher management always back staff, however unreasonable or out of order they were.

Really good atmosphere - super long bar and the staff are always nice. Not tried the food in a while but there's always plenty people in for food too so I'd expect it's pretty good.

A rather good selections of wines set this pub apart from the rest of green king pubs, the simple but well executed pub classics including sourdough sandwiches are in my opinion over the average.

A proper pub where you can have a relaxing quiet conversation without having to compete with piped muzak. Indeed I do not think there are any loudspeakers. The food is great and service prompt.
