We found Prince of Wales via Google search, saw it was close to our hotel, and walked over. We were only going to stay for a drink or two then ended up staying until almost closing time. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Great drinks and tasty food. The pub quiz night was a fun surprise, and the host was very nice and fun as well. Overall wonderful experience talking with locals and a few other tourists.

Proper aberdeen boozer. No frills, great service.

Went for lunch and was disappointed to see majority of meals came out of containers/satchets from microwave. Food sat under hot plate for a good 5 minutes. Food was warm, had no flavour. Macaroni was just cooked as slightly hard. Family used to come here quite a lot for food but no longer delicious food

We come here a lot and usually the food and service are really good. Unfortunately, lots of menu items were unavailable which the bar person seemed to be unaware of until we'd ordered. Starters arrived at the same time as mains.... along with an extra main "well you ordered it" (we didn't 🥴) Barman that served us had a really crappy attitude about it however his colleague was great, made sure that the extra main was refunded and apologised for the confusion. The food we got was actually very nice but the reduced choices and the attitude made it a bit of a disappointing experience for a family meal out.

Well worth seeking out this long-established pub, which is very centrally situated, just seconds from the main part of Union Street, but hidden down a narrow side street. It has been there for many a year - I remember it from my student days in the 1960s. My wife has a small appetite these days and was attracted by the offer of small plates, eventually choosing the goujons of haddock, which were excellent, various shapes and sizes, revealing they had been cut by a chef from fish fillets rather than made in a factory. I chose Chicken Balmoral (chicken, smoked bacon, haggis and sauce) which hit the spot nicely. Nice fries too. Reasonably priced and promptly served (but not so fast as would suggest a microwave was involved!) Noticed that there were some other Scottish specialties on the menu as well. Nice welcoming atmosphere in the pub too.

Veldig hyggelig betjening, reint og veldig hyggelig. Kjempe stemning, hadde med barn og det var helt innfor. God mat, kanskje litt små porsjoner

Had tempura chicken burger and it was fantastic. Was very busy but service was still pretty quick.

A typical pub with a wide selection of beers and several choices for lunch and dinner. You have to order at the cash register but the dishes are served at the table.

Ordered Balmoral chicken consist of haggis bacon,whisky sauce, carrots , broccoli and choice of chips. I ordered chips with it. Well the meal arrive at my table .chicken is so dry, carrots is welted over boiled, no available broccoli so they change it to cabbage not telling me before serving it, and they bring mash potato instead chips that I ordered.(change the potato, to chips after I say it) Over all my lunch is not great,didn’t enjoy any of it . I’m not ordering same meal again.

We had to wait two days, but it was a wonderful experience and it was worth it. In the end I had a typical dish, however the burgers were also inviting. Average prices.

In Aberdeen for a conference, came in for some proper food and was not disappointed. Great Haggis Pie, good beer, and fantastic service. Would go again for sure!

Beautiful experience! Really excellent food, I recommend macaroni and cheese served with salad, a little slow in serving but the staff was really very friendly, very nice Italian waiter! Good quality/price, thank you very much

When my husband and I first got to Aberdeen, the Prince of Wales was suggested as a nice place to unwind and get a pint. Rocco was working and suggested the Happy Chappy (my husband loved it! ). I got the fish and chips (they were to die for! The curry sauce went 👌 perfectly) and topped my evening off with their vegan lemon tart. As someone with allergies, I felt heard, cared for, and got some amazing suggestions for things to do. Well done!

The Prince of Wales is a great traditional pub located in the heart of Aberdeen with the added bonus of serving great tasting traditional pub food. It has an excellent atmosphere with friendly staff and plenty of choice behind the bar. There is nothing intimidating about this pub. It is a friendly atmospheric place to eat and drink (or a tea/coffee). The perfect place for a family, a couple or a group of friends to grab a bite to eat.

We were hungry and looked for a pub with good reviews close to the bus station. This one was perfect. Nice pub atmosphere. Found a table to sit despite it being busy. The bar staff were friendly and the service fast and efficient. The food came out much faster than we expected. My steak and ale pie was very tasty. No nasty gristle and my wife’s mince was good too. The Lemon tart was nicely tangy. Not Michelin star but just fine. We’ll be back with family next time.

Great central pub in Aberdeen. Although I did not get to sample the food , the drinks and service were excellent. Cosy atmosphere and plenty of choice of drinks. Will try the food on my next visit.

What a difference a year makes.Last time I came to this quirky pub I loved it,this time however I was left saddened.The place was sad.It was dirty,the floor was sticky,the toilet was DEFINITELY in need of some well earned TLC.The service was OK.But the place seems to have "lost something".What a shame

For being owned by a Brewery the Prince of Wales still manages to hold that traditional bar feel, always got some good beers on the taps too. Food's decent and well priced.

A traditional bar that serves a great range of beers, both cask and keg. The beers are well kept and change regularly. There's a mix of patrons depending on the day and time. It's rightly very popular for food. Traditional hearty fare which isn't expensive and actually prepared by a chef, rather than microwaved. You can see the kitchen area, too. Good place to spend time whether you're alone or in a group. A reliably welcoming out that doesn't change for fickle trends.

Fantastic choice of beers and other assorted drinks, also has a nice friendly atmosphere during the day and night.

Disappointed that they had no fish or scampi available on my recent visit. Also we were told that we had just got the last two remaining steak pies. We arrived just after 1200hrs so was not expecting there to be some menu items unavailable or low in numbers.

We had a well prepared fish and chips that was served professionally. The Bar Tenders (BT) were engaging and proactive and our orders were promptly taken and meal presented with 7 minutes. Inside the Bar was calm and there was lots of space, enabling guest walk freely. I have not visited the toilet, however I believed it will be cleaned. While the Bar is one minute walk to Bon-Accord, it is 30 minutes walk to the Aberdeen Beach Village and 6 minutes to the Marischal College.

Such a good place, give it a try, good beer , spirit's and service.

Real homely place, staff are lovely. Anya was very attentive and nothing was too much trouble! I’ve been here many times and the water station is such a great touch!

A really great pub where you can sit and relax and feel welcome and 'safe' inside. It's nice and cosy and the staff were very friendly when I was there. Toilets were spotless. They have a great range of drinks of offer and I loved the different fruity cider I tried. I didn't have anything from the menu as I'd already eaten earlier, but I definitely will be back soon to order some food as it looked good.

I was really disappointed in this place years ago it was excellent but not now. First of all I don't think the manager's customer skills was great as there was 5 of us and the tables are set up for 4 people and I asked him to put another chair at our table which he did but when I thanked him he never said a word and walked away. Apart from my food everyone else's food was nice they all said but really disappointed with mine I couldn't eat it there scottish favourite used to be proper home made food put together but for example I think there mashed potato is just instant or out of a packet and my beef olives was cold and hard

Stopped by here on way to Xmas market in Aberdeen. One of the oldest pubs in the city. Very busy for a Thursday afternoon which is a good sign. I had pulled mushroom chilli. A bit different but tasted really nice. Wife had scampi and daughter had beef burger. I had a nice pint of Guinness. Wife and daughter gin spritzers. Overall cost £56. Reasonable on this day and age.

Great pub, if a bit busy at times...as you would expect from a city centre pub! Staff are super friendly and attentive, make a decent steak pie!

Marco was ace. Good barman. Owners if you see this, give him a raise. We planned one drink here but stayed for 5 hours.

Wow! What a gem of a place!! Tucked away just off Union Street, this bar takes you back to when pubs were all great. Fabulous interior and a range of real ales to choose from, I found myself spoilt for choice. Well worth a visit if you get the chance!! 👍

Superb place to eat and enjoy a drink albeit we had soft drinks as was driving. The service was really good considering how busy they were, which is testament to the lovely food they serve up and at a very reasonable price, portions are right up my street. You must try and visit here otherwise you are going to miss out for sure.

Arrived after forced layover due to a cancelled flight. Was looking for comfort food in an authentic environment, this they had in spades. Was made feel welcome and comfortable as a solo traveller though would like to revisit with company.

Basic menu, pricey. No heating on .

Visited this Greene king pub while visiting family, loved the atmosphere, although initially we only went in for a drink. We got speaking to a lovely staff member called Charlie who talked us into having lunch while we were there, well done great recommendations enjoyed the lunch immensely. Great service.
