Very friendly man helped me wash my hands: he gave me soap, turned on the faucet and gave me paper towels. Wished me a great night. The drinks were a great plus. 5 stars

A converted church venue worth making a stop at! They made a good espresso martini as well! I will agree with other reviews that service can be quite slow during their busy hours, but overall I’m glad I experienced the place.

I think that Soul is a bit lost in its own building. Because the building is so stunning from the outside, you have very high expectation levels before you even go inside. Although inside is nice, it doesn't quite live up to what you've convinced yourself it's going to be. In the end, it's just a trendy bar in an old church. I stress Bar too, not a restaurant. My food was fine, nothing any better than anywhere else that does steaks and burgers. I don't have any complaints as such and there's nothing wrong here, I just wasn't wowed as I thought I was going to be.

Bad experience with a waitress gone sour after asking to get the table washes as it was very sticky. After this had to wait more than 45 mins on food that was partly cold, however fairly tasty. Too bad the service was bad, and drinks was forgotten as well.

Such a let down. The location and environment is amazing. However, the service was horrible. 30 minutes to get our starters Another 30 minutes to get water refills Another 30 minutes to get our food The manager finally apologized after 80 because they only had one chef in the back. I can appreciate being short staffed in the kitchen, but how does that keep you from communicating and getting refills before an hour? The food was good enough but the seasoning was super inconsistent. Fish and chips needed salt. The chicken fajita was overly spicy. The pizza needed salt. The steak was overcooked. The Mac n cheese croquette had zero flavor. The highlight was the caprese skewers which were absolutely delicious! Huge let down and I would suggest people find another place to eat in Aberdeen.

A disco in the church, extraordinary.

Such a cool bar with a good selection. Cocktails and food were amazing, but prepare yourself, as music can be too loud to talk to your company when you are siting inside. Overall it’s a great place tho

This place is really amazing it's a bar in an old church with stunning glass windows. Seating area outside with heaters. We stopped for a cocktail my husband had a Bloody Mary I had an Aperol Spritz. Both cocktails were lovely staff were great. We sat outside and it was a lovely spot to watch the world go by. Would definitely go back. Has clean toilets.

Not a local but have been to Soul every time in Aberdeen over the last 15 years. Last time was pre-COVID and don't like the decor changes since. Entire vibe is different. Still good service and drink selection but not sure I'll be back.

OH. MY. GOODNESS. Run don’t walk here, the drinks, fish and chips, and rocky road cheesecake were some of the best things we’ve eaten while visiting Scotland. I cannot stress this enough, GET THE ROCKY ROAD CHEESECAKE! I will not be eating any dessert other than this for the rest of my life!!

Food was ok but not perfect. We went for dinner as a friend recommended this restaurant but we may have had too high expectations as the food was ok but not great. The bar looks nice and the atmosphere is good.

A church as a cocktail bar. A very unusual location. Not for strictly religious church goers. The cocktails and service are very good and recommended. The ambience is excellent. The location is also highly recommended as a dance bar on the weekend.

Beautifully converted former Church. The food was amazing (had Soul fish and chips), staff were wonderful and accommodating. Would visit again if in the Aberdeen area.

Popped in for early evening cocktails. There are recurring decor themes around Aberdeen's bars and Soul shares them, but the stained glass and original wood carving look unique and spectacular in this repurposed space. Friendly staff, decent cocktails.

We only stayed for one drink, it would have been more but we were both tired. The cocktails were delicious and reasonably priced. It was quiet that night as it was a Sunday but we passed by the night before and it was packed, it is clearly a popular venue. Decent selection of music played too.

Had a lovely night with my husband on a Friday night in Soul. The staff was really helpful and the food was also so good. They had a nice DJ. Friday nights fully crowred. If you're going for food better to reserve a table with food, else you'll get only the drinks. You can park in the Bon-accord square which is in Bon-Accord street, Easy Parking. Security also good. And the atmosphere is really really good.

Went there for lunch today using an Itison voucher. Lunch was lovely, very tasty. Amanda, our waitress, was great, very friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

Atypical place / shame about the organization for the New Year. 4 servers for 500 customers isn't enough, guys.

I haven't eaten here for a while but the food was good last time. I drink here and the staff are efficient and friendly. I like it here during the week as there is generally a good playlist and the music not so loud that prevents conversation.

Despite booking this for our works Xmas lunch, around 50 people, and the food all being pre-ordered, this was one of the worst meals we have ever had, Some of the food was bland & tasteless, some burnt, including the soup, most of the mains were at best, luke warm, and some stone cold, we would never return to this venue.

Service delivery was sably today, I can understand it could be attributed to the graduation ceremony taken place the Music Hall. While I acknowledge the high volume of business going around, at least service should not be compromise. Moving away from Soul Bar, Lots of people were wandering the pavement and causing traffic. I enjoyed this random walks, as union street hasn't be busy for a very long time.

Spareribs in der Kirche. Ein Traum. Wirklich ein interessantes Ambiente. Allein dafür schon zu empfehlen. Das Essen war aber auch überragend. Gute Rippchen und die besten Pommes, die ich bisher hatte.

Great bar, but who the hecks idea was it to attach every single heat lamp under the gazebo to ONE BUTTON. Absolutely savage. One person's cold so everyone else has to sweat out of their eyes. Crikey

Party of 15 for lunch to celebrate a birthday and staff were very attentive and helpful. Food very nice, reasonably priced and it all arrived at the same time - great service - great food and very nice surroundings. Will def be returning.

Dinner in einer Kirche? Klar, warum nicht. In der Langstane Kirk aus dem 18. Jhd. wurde das "SOUL" installiert, eine In-Cocktailbar mit ausgezeichneter Küche. Die Preise bewegen sich auf mittlerem bis oberen Niveau, das Essen ist aber überaus lecker. Freundliches Personal, coole Musik dazu (die DJ-Theke ist auf der Kanzel) und dazu die tolle Atmosphäre der ehemaligen Kirche.

Second time here for the afternoon tea absolutely love it food is always amazing staff couldn't be anymore helpful and attentive and it' is absolutely amazing surroundings.

Nunca me hubiera imaginado ver un pub dentro de una antigua iglesia. Es increíblemente bonito. Es una pasada de local. Bonito, bonito. Están hasta las vidrieras. La mesa del DJ está en alto emulando la zona donde se dan los sermones y lecturas de la liturgia. La barra toda decorada con luces y flores colgantes, al igual que el resto del local. Y la zona de la terraza es una chulada también. Un 10.

Visited on a quiet evening where service was rather slow. Depsite the price tag of some of the drinks here. It was really to say I have had a beer in a church! The building is so beautiful, and they have done a great job converting it into the bar it is. However, I do wish the bartenders would clean some of the tables up outside as it was not easy to find a clean table at the time. We did not try any of the food, but I would recommend going just to see the building!

Popped in for a spot of lunch and ordered the haggis bites, salt and pepper wings and the hot dog. Food was divine, service was great too.

Super restaurant dans une ancienne église

Had really been looking forward to visiting this place. The venue itself did not disappoint, and it was by far the most beautiful bar I've seen. The music on the other hand, was incredibly loud, and after just one hour, I had to leave with aching ears and a bad mood. With that volume of the music, you would at least expect some kind of dancefloor since talking is impossible anyway. My condolences to all the bartenders here.

Wearing nice hiking pants(not joggers) denied entry. wearing all my nicest kit as just stepped off my vessel and wanted nice place to relax. was polite and asked to speak to supervisor as rule was no joggers. security denied me even that. Asked to have pint outside. nope. meanwhile lads inside with ripped jeans. real classy. denying me even speaking to supervisor is a tad out of line and overall it doesn't look worth the money. Besides a bar... in a church? I wanted to go in to admire the architecture and have a quiet drink. service alone 1 star.

Only good thing I have to say is that it's a very clean club and the outdoor smoking area is nice, especially during winter as they have outdoor heaters. On a weekend it is so busy that you are tripping over people to get to the bar. The bar staff were quite rude. The prices of drinks in here is extremely expensive. I was £4 for one shot. Overall wouldn't be back again.

One of the best places for a night out in Aberdeen. Great atmosphere and loud music for dancing (might not be the right place if you want to chat). Lots of seating space with different areas to explore within the place.

We popped in past after realising we had a good hour and a half to kill before our movie (so totally spontaneous). The lady that greeted and served us was the absolute sweetest. Super patient and helpful, had a laugh with us and even did her best to cater to our requests. Place was super quiet due to the time we came by, but it was very clean and decorated festively. Cocktails came super quickly and were simply delicious. Very well made. Looking forward to coming back!

It's awful now. Stayed for about 10 minutes and we moved on. Changed days. Sad.

A lovely bar with good atmosphere

Popped on the way back to the hotel, I love the fact the building is an old church. I only stopped for one drink while we waited for the taxi but if I am ever in Aberdeen I would definitely visit there again .

Read the reviews and visited mid week for dinner. The place was dead. Ordered drinks at an extremely outrageous price. Left and went to Wetherspoons instead.

Found this churched converted pub by accident. Food was good, ordered a fish and chips and it was good. Big selection of beer taps, had a mango IPA. It was interesting but wouldn’t say I liked it. Staffs were super friendly. Worth checking it out !

A old church, really nice as an experience but if you are a solo traveler, you will find the same patterns in all bars in Aberdeen, bartenders never talk to you and they prefer to look their phones rather the build relationships with customers. Aberdeen during the week is one of the boring places on Earth.

Nice bar, tasty cocktails (on the expensive side though). Very loud and gets louder as the evening progresses.

1st time here in years the Rum tini was a hit
