The Grill in Aberdeen City

Only seats left was beside the entrance to the toilets. Absolutely disgusting smell coming from them. Smelt like never been cleaned in a week! Will never go back. Not a nice experience.

The best whisky bar we visited in the 2 weeks we were traveling around the north half of Scotland. In fact we made an additional stop in Aberdeen just so we could visit again! Great atmosphere and wonderful service.

Iconic whisky bar in the heart of Aberdeen. Huge selection of the best drams at sensible prices. Small selection of food is available 'subject to availability' but I didn't try as had eaten already.

Hands down best whisky bar in Aberdeen. Incredible selection of whisky’s, a tasters dream!! Staff is very happy to guide you thru the selection and give recommendations based on your taste.

Un pub fantástico en el centro de la ciudad en Union Street, pero extrañamente fácil de perder con su fachada sin pretensiones. Cerveza es consistentemente bien cuidado y mientras que el servicio ocupado era rápido y amable. Un gran lugar para pasar un rato con la gente mirando o simplemente sangrando. ¡Ojalá lo hubiera descubierto antes!

A gem! You wouldn’t know how good this bar is from the outside. But get in and it is a good atmosphere where you can have a conversation without shouting. The staff is attentive and helpful without trying to oversell. There is a great choice of whiskies and other drinks. I highly recommend The Grill.

Probably has the greatest selection of Whisky in Aberdeen city centre. Pub with a bit of history that hasn't changed much in 30 or so years! It's a must do if your visiting Aberdeen.

A traditional bar with a a huge selection of whisky (including some very rare ones). Beers to suit every taste from mainstream to craft. Beautiful ceiling and great staff. No music and a TV which is not a focal point. These places are dying out, but please don't change.

From outside it doesn’t look like much, pretty dark and gloomy and once inside it is a jewel. Best place in town to discover many whiskies and other spirits. It is a pity that it smells of dirty toilets! I will give them the five stars they deserve when they find a solution to that ghastly smell. Wasn’t like this a few years ago. They need to do a deep toilet cleaning and change those cleaning products.

Cosy pub that feels like a very exclusive space with great atmosphere, nice spots to sit or stand at the bar and have a nice chat with the bartender Great variety of whisky, as well as beers and gin I haven't seen food being served, so I'd recommend for a drink before or after dinner.

Very old-school Scottish pub. Nice for a group of blokes to have a quick beer. Drinks were all good, and prices were reasonable. Very low-key outside. In fact, I've walked past several times in the past and missed it! Usually, you can get a seat at teatime, but i imagine it can be busy of a night.

Good place if you want to drink ale or lager and especially single malt whisky.

Very knowledgeable staff guided me through a journey of discovery of scotch whisky. Had a lovely evening and left with a substantial “glow.”

BEAUTIFUL! This place is a must do if you're a pub fan visiting Aberdeen! The interior is preserved, and has lovely wood panels. Real Ales were available, and well kept. I'm not a wiskey drinker, but this place would be heaven if you are... Single wiskey measures range in price from under £5 to over £200!

Can’t comment on the food as never had however The Grill is a great bar, magic selection of drams and always a good few beers on the taps.

300 whiskies to try here, all written up in the "bible". Can't say I came here to eat, so I can't review any food offerings. If you're curious to try some whiskies, I can't think of anywhere better!

First time in Aberdeen and this was one of the key places on the list to visit. Great service, amazing atmosphere and epic drams. What more could you want! I’m now trying to work out how I can organise a return trip with my Dad.

The is one of the best bars in Aberdeen whiskey galore the staff are so knowledgeable about the cratur and service is as quick as is possible in a busy bar and its beautiful to look at after a refit👍

Love the fact that Aberdeen has this traditional pub with some beautiful features. Huge selection of drinks, especially whisky if you like it. Great to see some more mature bar staff serving and all staff are friendly, professional and know all about the drinks. I got a little bottle of prosecco which was lovely. Whilst we were sitting down next to the door, we had some friendly interesting characters join us for a chat and at one point we were joined by a stag party of 10 men. (we're both female) a pub for all ages. I remember when this place didn't have a toilet (you can Google this for more historic info) happy that there is one upstairs now, but it looks and smells like it's used by men also as there were urine stains all over the floor and a a strong smell. Otherwise this would have been a 5 star review. It was Saturday afternoon and steady but not overly busy. A 5 minute check of the toilets would make a huge difference.

Stoped for a drink on the way to dinner with my son on his 20th Birthday. Julie, the manager runs a first class bar. Fantastic selection of malt whisky’s with a great buzz around the place. Back bar spotless with friendly and knowledgeable staff. Came back after dinner for a night cap. Thank you.

Was a bit trepidatious about coming in given the frosted glass (typical of 'locals only' type pubs). However couldn't have been more wrong - great atmosphere inside, very busy but not too crowded, friendly staff. The interior is large with interesting old features. There's a lot of whiskeys here too if that's your thing.

We used The Grill as our "go to" place for drinks while in Aberdeen. The massive range of whiskies on offer was awe-inspiring

Nice local pub, just popped in for a quick drink when we walked in we got a big smile from the barman and he asked if we were OAPs and gave me a discount on my pint and the wife's lemonade was free

I ordered a single MacAllan 18 year old. I was charged 40£ for it. A bottle of the named spirit can be bought for 300 from any online vendor. Instead of applying a reasonable markup th try are applying a 4x markup on that price. Plain rip off. Avoid that venue unless you are prepared to overpay.

Was charged 40£ for what should have been 14£. Scumbags. Daytime robbery. Avoid that place at all costs..

Nice Whisky-Pub, as I like it. Very big sortiment of Whiskys and also Whiskeys. Very helpfull seviceteam. Your kids can wait outside😅, no entry for under 18.

Was mad busy on a Friday evening, great atmosphere. Big whisky range of mainly the "big names" but if you can get to the bar at a quiet time imagine there's some rarer ones! 5 Scottish cask beers too, all round a great pub.

Historic bar with an eclectic mix of customers, welcoming staff. You won't find many of these types of bars left (great historic interior) so they need to be frequented and enjoyed while we have them.

Good working man's pub. Nothing to fancy. Great selection of Malts and the staff are very nice. You can have a pie or a wee snack if you fancy it. Recommended

Amazing dedicated whisky bar. Around 300 excellent bottles of mostly lesser known, local whiskies, competently recommended and served. Although it is very conveniently located on the city's main street, it is simultaneously rather secluded and does not try to draw in casual tourists, so you can have your dram surrounded by the locals, fellow whisky aficionados, and some interesting history. The place to go for whisky experience in Aberdeen.

Von außen ganz unscheinbar, wären wir nicht zusammen mit unserem Reiseführer dahin gegangen, wären wir bestimmt vorbei gelaufen. Aber drin sah es richtig super aus, die Bar hatte soviele Sachen zum trinken. Solche Flaschen habe ich so noch nie gesehen. Normale Preise, in der Bar im Hotel wäre es teurer gewesen
