The Bieldside in Aberdeen City

My Husband and I were having Lunch yesterday (12 June) and having a lovely time, the food was excellent and so were the staff. A table of 4 ladies came in with a dog they sat in the balcony, but they put there dog on the table and one member of staff gave the dog a bowl of water on the table. I have worked in hospitality for a lot of years but I have never seen anything like this. It is not only wrong but it also very unhygienic . It totally ruined the visit experience. We were retrying the establishment after they had messed about with the menu and lockdown .

Outside for a few beers . 6 weeks ago there were 6 gas heaters outside . Now as it gets colder and colder there’s only 3 . According to staff 3 have been relocated to Soul bar . It’s baltic,such a big area and 3 heaters which cover perhaps 8 out of 30 tables ridiculous! If you want custom put your hand in your pocket Mr Clarkson and buy some more heaters

Me and my boyfriend booked in for his birthday meal and on arrival was made to sit outside in the tent. It looked nice to begin with but it suddenly got really cold and noisy and when people walked past the floors were shaking. We asked to go inside but they had no space, which should have been stated on booking as we were expecting a warm and chill environment for our meal. Drinks came reasonably quick, however after we couldn’t dine inside, we decided to ask to pay for drinks and leave, until no one came after 20 minutes of waiting! So we had no choice but to leave as we were both freezing and starving! Thankfully The Ploughman’s in PeterCulter managed to squeeze us in for food last minute:)Overall extremely disappointed and won’t be returning!!

Comí aquí anoche. La comida estaba absolutamente deliciosa. Fui por el Haggis Bon Bons como entrante (7.50) y el Beef Steak Pie como plato principal (14). Ambos platos se cocinaron a la perfección. El plato principal venía con patatas y zanahorias frescas y sabrosas. Mi señora tenía el Beef Chili que dijo que era de primera clase. Nuestra factura llegó a 26 después de los descuentos que tenía una buena relación calidad-precio. El servicio fue realmente bueno y había un sistema Track & Trace muy eficiente junto con mesas socialmente distanciadas entre sí. Recomendaría encarecidamente este lugar a otras personas y espero volver pronto.

Excelente comida, pero con los nuevos asientos al aire libre debido a covid, no es apto para discapacitados. En este momento estoy con muletas y fue un gran esfuerzo llegar del estacionamiento al restaurante y cuando llegamos tuve que bajar las escaleras (lo cual fue muy doloroso), así que si estuviera en mi silla de ruedas no lo haría. han podido llegar a los asientos. En lugar de mesas y chars, tienen bancos de picnic, así que además de la gran cantidad de dolor que tenía, tuve que mover las piernas de una manera que fue muy dolorosa y a mi abuela también le resultó bastante difícil sentarse. El personal era encantador y muy bueno en mantener la distancia y la comida fue una de las mejores que he probado en mucho tiempo, simplemente me decepcionó la falta de acceso para discapacitados.

The title says it all. The waitress’ manner was most unfriendly and verging on unpleasant. However, the manageress was lovely and didn’t charge us for our food and coffee.

Good food for lunch, good Social distancing set up in the marquee. Drinks pretty expensive only negative.

Visitamos unos días después de que reabrieron y fue nuestra primera salida a un restaurante desde el cierre. Tardaron 40 minutos en llegar nuestras bebidas, que estaban mal y cerca de una hora más para nuestra comida, que cuando llegó no fue excelente. La carne en la tarta de bistec estaba tan cocida que sabía granulada y las patatas fritas con pescado y patatas fritas estaban poco cocidas. En este punto teníamos frío y nos sentimos miserables y solo queríamos irnos. Experiencia realmente decepcionante y probablemente no volveré.

This is our nearest place to eat and it's been very good but last year it wasn't so great. Menu change and other things. However after a few weeks of not going as it was poor we gave it a go last week. We both had an excellent burger and the service was great . So pleased to see the place picking up again.

Hello good trip advosor people,Barry Allan expert level reviewer and this as I always say is because i love to write about restaurants that really do a good job,and today I travelled to the village of Bieldlside to sample a meal at the Bieldside Inn, fondly known as "The Bielder"

This was our first visit here after some very good reports. The restaurant is very nice, really liked the way it was set off from the bar. Ordered a couple starters between three and they came reasonably quickly. Not much on either plate for the price to be fair, but what we got tasted good. Being Boxing day, one of the starters we had was the tempura pigs in blankets. I would have just said they were heavily battered rather than tempura, and thought that only 3 for the price was a bit disappointing. The mains again came reasonably quickly after the starters. We had haddock, scampi and the spicy chicken burger. The fish and scampi were over cooked and there were only 6 pieces of scampi on the plate. Again, not worth the price tag in my opinion. The chicken burger was nice enough, but nothing to write home about. All in all, glad we tried it, but there are much nicer restaurants closer to town that serve better food and are better value for money.

used to be very good. now its okay. the menu has changed although not for the better, for the worse.

El personal de servicio es demasiado joven, no tiene experiencia ni idea de cómo tratar con los clientes, nadie parece estar a cargo o ni siquiera se preocupa. El personal conversando en lugar de servir, tuvo que pedir la botella de vino que pedimos nuevamente, el lugar estaba demasiado vacío para el almuerzo del domingo y por una buena razón ahora lo sabemos. La comida fría, la carne masticable (tanto la carne de cerdo como la de res) dejaron la mayor parte de la comida entera, dijeron que le dirían al chef, que se iría, se quejaron y no respondieron ni un poco, pagaron el precio completo y no volverán.

Reservamos para el cumpleaños de mi esposa, su comida estaba fría, sus verduras se perdieron y luego aparecieron cuando su comida fue retirada para volver a calentarla, mi cigala estaba muy cocida y mis tres papas fritas estaban frías, la porción de mi hijo de hijos estaba más grande que mi comida para adultos!Solía ser nuestro lugar para comidas de cumpleaños, etc. Sin embargo, no más.Pagamos y nos fuimos, todavía con hambre, compramos unas patatas fritas en la cooperativa de Mannofield camino a casa.

Went to The Bieldside for a quick lunch, unfortunately it was anything but quick! We ordered the soup and a sandwich deal, and a bowl of soup with a separate starter of Haggis spring rolls. The food took 30 minutes to arrive, and the soup (leak and potato) was ‘look warm’ when it arrived. Unimpressed, we were very surprised to find that when we got the bill the bowl of soup was £10 (how can anywhere charge £10 for what I can only imagine takes one potato and one leak!), and £6 for the spring rolls...which was actually 1 spring roll cut in two...Saving grace was the friendly waitresses who apologies for the long wait. Definitely won’t be going here again, and won’t be recommending it to our friends or family!

Mi padre vino a visitarnos y nos llevó a cenar. El personal era amable y servicial. Yo era el único que tenía un entrante, los calamares y estaba delicioso, buena porción y sabroso. Los platos principales tenemos una variedad de platos principales cada uno de ellos estaba bien preparado, buen tamaño de porción y bien presentado. Los demás en la fiesta tenían postres que, según ellos, eran ligeros pero abundantes. Antes de irnos hablamos con el gerente para decirle qué cena tan encantadora había sido y qué personal encantador tenían. Lo disfruté aún más, ya que fue una cena sorpresa. Volveremos.

Visité muchas veces y nunca fue genial, pero normalmente está bien. No comas carne, así que el menú es limitado. Ambas especialidades de pescado que normalmente habría contenido carne - pastel de pescado con tocino y filete de atún tenía carne de cerdo. Decidí ir por un plato especial de tempura de gambas con gambas, rosas y tomates y acompañarlas con papas fritas. Para 8. 50 Conseguí un langostino tempura y aproximadamente una cucharadita de langostinos absolutamente pequeños en una salsa fuerte con cuatro pequeños cortes de tomate en una hoja de lechuga blanda marrón. Ordenamos chips junto con él, que estaban bien por un extra 4. Muy decepcionante.

La cena fue encantadora y atienden bien sin gluten. Pedimos Bruschetta pero el pan sin gluten era muy pequeño y solo te dieron una rebanada, así que un poco por encima de los precios, pero fue agradable. Tenía una hamburguesa principal con un bollo que era realmente agradable. El servicio necesita mejorar, ya que tuvo que esperar mucho tiempo para ser atendido.

We had a lovely lunch in The Bieldside after walking from Duthie Park. Fish is amazing. We had whitebait, haggis spring roll and bruschetta for starters. All good portions and very tasty. Reasonably priced. Shout out to our waiter (didn't get his name, professional young man with an injured wrist !).

Went with a big group of colleagues on a Friday night. It was already busy but we waited ages for our order to be taken then even longer to be served our food. The drinks order was forgotten and no one came to check if we needed more at any time. We had to go and ask where our food was and two orders were wrong when they came which needed to be changed. The hanger steak was pretty chewy - why not pay a bit more for a better cut of beef? Was told is was coming medium but there were quite a lot of pieces of beef that were rare. There was no fresh mint tea and again we waited ages for our dessert order to be taken. Missed a trick there as 4 people would have ordered if we had been asked earlier. By then they felt it was too late and ordered coffee instead. It was very loud and hot in the restaurant. Very limited menu now. Bring back the old one please!

I am a frequent visitor of the Bieldside with family, friends and work colleagues. I recently attended an event in the function room for the first time. The Food, Drinks and whole experience was very good and it was thoroughly enjoyed by all who attended. The new menu in the restaurant is worth a visit - Sunday Dinner for Fathers Day was particularly great!

We live in Bieldside so are frequent visitors. Six weeks ago we enjoyed some imaginative salads and great lamb dish. Tonight we paid £70 for typical bad pub food. Greasy, tasteless squid, the other starter forgotten and then birds eye chicken on linguine. Everything gone downhill- service, menu and cooking. Such a shame as they were getting somewhere only weeks ago.

Arrived at 1.30pm hoping to have some lunch . Place was deserted apart from 2 couples in the conservatory area. Waited for 5-10minutes and nob oft appeared to see to us . No atmosphere . We left and went elsewhere . Bad first impression.

Visited with 2 other couples on a sunny Saturday night. We were only planning on stopping for a drink on the balcony but we decided to make a night of it. Restaurant, bar and balcony were all very busy but the service was excellent- we didn’t have a booking but when we decided to stay the management offered us a table in the bar or a short wait for a table in the restaurant. We opted to wait for the restaurant, It was a good excuse for another drink outside. Food was fantastic I had a Sea bream special and my partner had a slow cooked beef dish both were faultless. There were also pub favourites like burgers and fish and chips on the menu. Drinks offerings were excellent with a really good selection of wines by the glass, local gins and beers and perfect espresso martinis to finish!

We live very close to the Bieldside Inn and have frequented this for years, generally we have found the service and food to be relatively good. But oh dear what has happened - the quality of food has deteriorated in the last month or two - we dont think we will return. Not just the food but the way it is served, at the moment it looks as though the plates have come from a staff canteen, and presentation is non existent. The service is very hit or miss there are one or two of the staff are very attentive but others couldnt careless. A lot of the time the staff seem to hide near to the serving hatch speaking amongst themselves and ignoring the customers. There is certainly a lack of leadership and management therefore the younger staff have no sense of customer service. Surely as well as the quality of food, this is one of the most important aspects of a service industry?

Ordered 2 cheese toastie for my children, arrived after 25mins. Standard of food was okay nothing special. The bill was more interesting, £18 for two cheese sandwiches! When i asked about this I was told the sandwiches are from the kids 'set menu' which includes a drink & ice-cream. Both my kids had water (free) & no ice-cream yet the young lassie insisted it was £9 each....bunch of con-artists.

El domingo 14 de abril decidimos probar The Bieldside después de querer probarlo durante mucho tiempo. Digamos que "Disappointed" fue una subestimación. Cuando llegamos esperamos un rato para ser recibidos por cualquiera. Elegimos sentarnos en el bar ya que el restaurante estaba vacío. El menú era basura. Ambos elegimos la hamburguesa por 14. Que vino en un plato con patatas fritas crujientes. Tuvo que esperar a que les dieran y cubiertos o salsa. Las habilidades de presentación no eran las mejores. No es un gran ambiente. Tanto personal del bar charlando y jurando detrás del bar. Creo que la gerencia debería capacitar al personal para que este sea un lugar más atractivo. No volveré a visitar esto de nuevo.

Fui allí con la familia para un almuerzo del Día de la Madre. Había un menú fijo e Ichose the beef, era encantador y todos los que elegían la carne estaban de acuerdo. Aquellos que comieron pollo realmente lo disfrutaron, especialmente el berry skirlie - fue una buena relación calidad-precio, bien presentado, buen ambiente y volveremos

Éramos 11 de nosotros para una cena de cumpleaños. Tomamos unas copas en el bar antes de sentarnos a la mesa. El personal fue atento, la comida salió juntos y fue de buena calidad. El ambiente era relajado y tuvimos una noche maravillosa. No puedo culparlos.

Fuimos a almorzar con un amigo por primera vez a pesar de haber pasado por este lugar todos los días durante los últimos 4 años. El menú del almuerzo, aunque no es enorme, tiene los clásicos que desearías. El precio es bueno para Aberdeen y puedes tener 3 platos para 16, lo que es excelente.

We went for a meal on Saturday night, the service was very good and the food was excellent. The Langoustines and Rustic chips were superb. Overall good service, good food and good atmosphere.

Visited with family and was pleasantly surprised how nice the restaurant was. I have not been in years but it is big and spacious. The staff were attentive and the food was very good.

Visited here at the weekend. Was disappointed with meal. My partner's steak pie was very small portion and not nearly enough to satisfy his appetite.

Just enjoyed a very good dinner with friends. Lots of choice, a bit pricey but nonetheless well cooked and presented.

Went to Bieldside for a family meal as we were returning home to New Zealand the next day. There was quite a few of us to be fair but the service was slow - getting a drink took some time and I had to go to the bar to get a second drink myself despite it being a table service. They were quite busy but the meals took a long time to come out. I asked for the steak - rare - but it came medium at best - I'd have rather seen it blue - but it was quite nice. Overall it was only average as the service let it down - there was a time when about 4 of the staff were having a chat at the bar when several diners at our and other tables were looking to order additional drinks - not good enough so that's why the rating is lower

Having used the bar and restaurant regularly for 9 years I feel it's time let others know how good this "local" is.

My wife and I called into the Bieldside Iin for a quick drink and starter meal. Arrived at 1650. At three minutes to five I tried to order some food but I was told I could not because it was not 5pm yet so would have to wait. A more appropriate response would be, yes I’ll take your order sir but cannot book it in until 5pm when the till starts working. We ordered calamari at £7.50. What arrived was probably worth 75 pence. I then ordered olives and bread at £4.50. With five staff at the bar, only one was interested in serving me, the others making excuses not to serve me. What arrived was a ramakin full of oil with olives and a plate with four half slices of bread and a second ramakin full of oil. We had to request some plates and some balsamic vinegar. We had to dip our fingers into the oil to get at the olives. We poured out the oil. When we mentioned this to the waitress she said “oh I forgot about the stickee things for the olives”. Not impressed at all, very poor service, even poorer value for money.

The Bieldside Inn is a pleasant and welcoming bar/restaurant. The staff are attentive and polite, however I have eaten here twice recently and both times I have been ill afterwards. The first time I had a burger and so this time I went for the chicken done with goats cheese, accompanied by a potato rosti (which wasn’t a potato rosti) and braised cabbage which was brown. My friend had black pudding and cheese croquettes which had no sign of black pudding in them and ordered a medium rare steak which came barely cooked. Although I really like the atmosphere and will return for a drink, I will not be returning to eat here.

I'm a regular at this restaurant. Located so close to our house. So, we came to dine almost every weekend. Had my birthday party at this restaurant every year. The bartender knows the best. The foods are excellent and the staffs are awesome.

We really enjoyed our meal this evening. Nice surroundings and lovely attentive staff. Not the most inexpensive meal I've ever had but very enjoyable anyway.

I visited The Bieldside Inn with my partner for Valentine’s Day. We had booked ahead for the restaurant which was as well as it was nicely busy with a great atmosphere made clear from the moment we entered. We were made to feel incredibly welcome and were greeted with the standard menu, a Valentine’s menu and a special cocktail menu. We were seated in a cosy corner with beautiful red roses on the table. The staff were super attentive but left us plenty of time to decide on our dishes. All of the food was delicious- especially the Cullen skink & the sharing desert! The cocktails were also fab! Overall a lovely special meal out and would highly recommend.

Rainy day, popped in for some lunch and respite. Got both. Best Cullen skink I’ve had in some time. Was warming, flavoursome and obviously made with a lot of care. Thanks!

Staff were incredibly rude, were chatting away with each other as people were waiting to order, had no drinks menu and didn't offer any suggestions to customers as to what they might like to drink, glared at customers for no apparent reason. Drinks are even more expensive than they used to be and we weren't allowed to order 3 fish and chip meals for 45 minutes. Management should have a word with their staff about basic customer service.

Called ahead to check there were vegetarian options. The girl on the phone said there was a Thai red veggie curry and feta and beetroot burger. Both sounded great to us so my boyfriend and I ordered one of each. The food took a looooong time to arrive and we weren’t offered any condiments. On first glance at the food the portions looked small so I quickly put in an order of chips. As I started eating the curry there was no rice under it. So it was basically a bowl of curried vegetables with what can only be described as a garnish of noodles covered in a sweet sauce- which did not go with the curry! My boyfriend had to wait around ten minutes for ketchup by which time the burger was cold. I asked if the curry usually comes without rice to which the waiter said no- I could get you some if you like. I declined when he enquiries and reported it would take 15 minutes. I was charged £4 for the side of chips so my bowl of curried vegetables with chips came to £17. Very disappointed with what was supposed to be a treat.

I know we have tongues in our head, but we shouldn't have to ask for missing or additional drinks. No offer of wine either. Table staff were conspcious by their absence. Overpriced - 6 pieces of scampi and 7 chunky chips = £20. Good atmosphere however, but service and value for money not so good this time round.

We are a local family who have used the Bielder for years. Never particularly impressed by the limited menu and the high prices but we know the staff well and get good service.

Nice little pub / restaurant with good quality, reasonably priced food from a small menu which changes regularly. Service is always nice and friendly. Choice of beer is limited but always good. Good car parking or if you like a good bus service to/ from the city centre.

Food was lovely, although for the price I would have expected a little more on my plate.

I had an expensive steak which wasn't bad, but not great. I felt The Bielside was an OK neighbourhood restaurant with aspirations to be hip and quite upmarket. It didn't quite succeed.. The service was OK but not exceptional,

Excellent waitress but a plague of wasps made the meal tricky. Unfortunately the chicken kebab was under-cooked; it was very chewy and when cut with a knife, proved to be raw in the centre. A replacement was prepared but took a while, of course. Disappointing.

Visited last night to sample the first pop-up BBQ experience and left with plans to return for the next such event. For the sum of £15 we were presented with 5 different items, and , if feeling very hungry, we could have tried each one, along with a selection of salads. The favourite of our group was the slow roasted smoky brisket of beef, but all options were delicious. Besides the food, the service was excellent - full marks to staff on duty! Will return again in August and hope menu is the same.

My friend and i stmbled across the Bielside inn earlier this evening while on the last leg of our treck. Upon entering the establishment we were wowed by the warm and pristine setting and were greeted by a lovely young server who showed us to a table. Both food and drink orders were taken quickly without it feeling rushed and again both food and drinks arrived at quickly. As this was an impromptu meal we had no real expectations but were stunned with the food served to us, I had the superfood salad and my friend had a starter and a side, presentation was impeccable and was all very tasty indeed. The waitress checked to make sure everything was fine with the meal and I was left with the impression that if at all we needed anything we'd have no issue getting it. The lady who served us is a fantastic asset to this atablishment and only wish that she was working for my restaurant. All in all a fantastic place to eat and unwind and I'll be sure to stop by in the near future.

Out with friends, nothing negative to say, food very good, service good, cleanliness very good, portion sizes excellent, and company great. Very busy would recommend booking if going at a weekend.

Since the Clarksons took this over they have improved it immensely . Not only is it a great local for nearby residents but it has a great food offering too. Rightly very popular. Varied menu and wine list. Lovely décor too. Well worth a visit.

The Bieldside provides a good choice of reasonably priced good food in a pleasant and modern decor. The south facing sun deck is a nice touch when the weather plays ball.

We held a birthday party for 50 people in the function room at The Bieldside Inn last night. The staff could not have been more helpful, very pleasant and hard working. The food was excellent , very good quality. A special thank you to Lauren, one of the managers who was fantastic in helping us organise the party.

My first trip to the Bielside was back in 2015 and I wasn't impressed. The food was fine, just tiny portions and high prices (literally 6 pieces of calamari for £6). I went back again for the first time a few months ago and things have really changed. Great cocktails (they make a great Old Fashioned), plus the food/price ratio is much better. Its still not a cheap place, but I'm much more impressed. Their pork belly and sticky toffee pudding are great. My ranking system: 1=avoid at all cost, 2=eat if you have no choice, 3=ok, nothing special, 4=good, something you'd eat when you were in the neighbourhood or specifically craving it, and 5=you'd make a trip just to eat this

We have visited twice recently as a couple. I have to say I really like this place so much so I have booked a girls lunch for my 50th birthday.I find the food quality very good and good portion size as a rule. Only negative on last visit was the additional charge for the chilli for my husbands burger which consisted of approximately a tea spoon of chilli! We did not complain but would if it happened again.Lovely decor, modern and nice atmosphere. Fantastic cocktail menu and option for cocktails on balcony at back weather permitting.I disagree with the view it is too expensive as it is comparable to any other similar food venue in this area and I think it is more superior in quality than some others.Service generally good.

Everything is very much average. The food, the service...the only thing which isn't average is the price! I wouldn't mind paying more if it was excellent food with great service, but it's just not. Value for money is poor, although overall the place has a nice atmosphere. Beautiful bar area, really nice interior.

We arrived early on a Saturday evening after booking a table and then had to wait even though in the Bar with plenty of reserved tables !!!! 20 minutes later we got our table after being set even though nobody on it and if a wipe down is setting a table then that's interesting !!!!! We had two courses and starter arrived and were ok I had the thai fish cakes and my wife had Calamari. Then the main nothing special to order just the fish and chips I has the rustic chips and wife stringy fries. Even though the fish was well cooked both portions of chips were awful one overcooked and the other cant explain but I could of done better with my eye shut, even when we try to get attention from the staff nothing for 20 minutes, nobody asked how was the food was, nobody came to see if we need any more drinks. So we ate the fish and left the chips and then when finally some body came and we complained we were offered another portion of chips !!!! After 5 minutes or so we came to agreement then we wouldn't pay for the drink and got free deserts. Wish we hadn't bothered with the deserts either worse cheesecake I had nothing better than a frozen cheesecake from a supermarket. This is our local and wont be going back for food that is for sure £14 for fish and chips you would expect them to get right !!!! At the end of the night my wife was also unwell to add insult

Went with two friends for afternoon tea. It was absolutely fantastic. Welcomed by cheerful young lady who gave us the option of sitting inside or on the balcony. We chose outside because it was such a lovely day. We could not believe the amount of food we had for the price. Bother sweet and savoury. You could not have got more fillings in the sandwiches if you tried. It was all presented nicely, fresh and delicious. I think you would be hard pushed to find better.

Best meal out in quite a while. 4 of us each had 3 courses and all were first class. We were there for dinner but lunch equally as good

Great lunch menu, 2 or 3 courses for a very reasonable price!!! Food was beautifully presented and tasted even better than it looked! Service attentive and friendly. The chicken Caesar is a proper salad, so good the other half asked to try!!! See you again soon bieldside - yum :)

Really nice looking place. Seemed like more staff to customers but they were attentive and polite. Food was tasty, I enjoyed the braised beef and vegetables.

After purchasing an Itison voucher for a two course meal we booked for 17.00 on a saturday ,the restraunt was starting to get busy and had a nice atmosphere .The friendly staff showed us the menu and took our drinks order .The menu is great and we took a while to choose our two courses .Haggis bon bon,s and a beetroot soup came first and didn,t disapoint .Sea bass and a fish n chips followed , and as if we needed it , a rhubarb crumble with ginger and a vanilla ice cream to finish .The staff were so attentive and friendly and we had a great meal and will definitely return

Lovely meal, had fish and chips and my husband had chicken and leek pie. This was followed by cheesecake and rhubarb and ginger crumble all of which was faultless. Waitress was pleasant and attentive and we were very happy with service received. Would have no hesitation in recommending to others and will definitely book again.

Visited here on the way home to Culter - (2 people only) arrived Easter Sunday at 7.45 to be turned away for food despite the sign stating food served until 8pm - pointed this out to waitress and to the bar manager who both shrugged - clearly ready to clear up and could not be bothered / went into to Borsalino - fantastic meal and service - happy Easter

Ate here with an It Is On voucher which gave us a very good deal. Ordinarily I would be unhappy if having to pay the full menu price as the food was good but not outstanding in relation to what they're charging. Deserts for £7 is way too expensive! If it wasn't for the location I don't think they'd get away with it.

I liked the bar, the restaurant well it was OK, the food was fine, I guess if you live local it is a good place to spend an evening without having to go into town. The food itself was good but did not really wow in any way, I was with friends and everybody had a good enough time.I would visit again if I was in the area but would not pass many places to get to it.

I have been going to the Bieldside on and off for 20 years and it always seemed much the same - never outstanding but reassuringly samey. Went tonight for Mother's Day and we were all blown away by the food and service. My Mum said it was, "like fine dining," and both the chicken and lamb were cooked to perfection. Waiting staff were very attentive and polite. Will not wait so long before going back again.

I came here for a meal with my friend, hearing really good reviews so thought I would pop in. I had the scampi and chips... over cooked chips, extremely crunch. 6 pieces of Scampi... When you order scampi and chips you expect a lot... especially at £19. I won't be returning here.

Whilst never an outstanding place, The Bieldside was just about OK as a local for posh pub grub. However, following a recent visit, it has gone seriously downhill. Very expensive for poorly prepared food.

Good food and friendly and informative staff. The soup and sandwich lunch time deal was very tasty, definitely worth a visit.

Visited The Bieldside Inn recently and was most disappointed in the attitude of one female member of staff. We had looked at the menu and I asked if we could order and her reply was "It's up to you" Not really an appropriate response. Perhaps this is a training issue, but not as if she was one of the younger members of staff. Also disappointed in the fact that a very poor choice of gins. Find it hard that a pub runs out of Gordons!!!!!

I won a voucher at a charity night so we decided to go on a Thursday night in February.Lovely restaurant and excellent service. I had mussels to start and then sweet chilli chicken skewers. My partner had black pudding and haggis bonbons followed by fish pie. All in all, the food was amazing.Can't wait to go back there again.

This is not a bad bar restaurant, the food is ok nothing exceptional, they have changed the menu so some of the more unusual dish have gone, a pity. Lacks a bit of atmosphere was very quiet when we were there.

I first visited the Bieldside inn in may 2016. I was so impressed with the food and service that we decided to go one evening for dinner. Again it was so good. Attentive, happy and friendly staff. Excellent food served hot and presented nicely. The manager works so hard , he leads by example. In the last 2 months we have been 4 times and decided to make it our local. We have already booked for Sunday evening.

Need to change the menu !!Boring and service it appalling Too many bar staff and not enough restaurant staff.

Popped in here today as I missed my bus strangely. Staff were super helpful and only had a couple of drinks but that being said the prices are very reasonable. Will definitely return for a meal.

Went he for an impromptu lunch. The bieldside inn is in a good location just outside of Aberdeen. This would be a nice spot during the summer with a terrace outside. The bar area is also very modern inside.The menu is very reasonably priced with something for everyone and the food is very nice, well presented with a good size portion.

Five of us went here for a family evening meal. We frequent the place and had felt it would be a nice place to bring family visiting from Glasgow. The menu is limited but still various options. Partly our fault but after ordering starters all round two of us ordered a Turf to share. When the main meals arrived as normal the Fish and chips that the other three in the party ordered looked lovely and plentiful. Then this small platter very well presented got delivered. After we got over the shock of this being £20 and for two people I tried to query it. The restaurant was about 2/3rd full but after 10 minutes of trying to get a member of staffs attention while they served and took orders from other tables I ended up going to the servers to catch someone there. I asked the waitress to check this portion was actually for two people as on a previous visit when we had a one desert to share they charged us for two. She did check and came back advising us the reason first little was that it was a meat dish. What transpired was that although not stated on the menu it was also a starter. If when she took the order she had pointed this out when we were ordering mains this could of been averted. Unfortunately the confusion, 10 minutes trying to get someone's attention and total lack of interest in customers was a great disappointment and spoiled what could of been of lovely meal.

Bar staff and food excellent waiting service rubbish pretty much ignored us when it got busier, no leadership direction given to staff.

We enjoyed such a lovely lunch today.The restaurant was busy but the staff still took time to make clients feel welcome and accommodate individual requests.The food was beautifully presented and attention to detail was commendable.Well done and thank you!

Waitress was rude, unfriendly not helpful made us adults feel like naughty children, disrespectful. I could go on...We did not feel welcomed here She absolutely spoilt this family meal. On the plus side the food tasted nice and good value was fairly quick to arrive to our table (it was quiet so might b different when busy) so if it wasn't for the waitress I probably would have given 4*!

The atmosphere and setting is great and the staff are very polite and attentive. However we were disappointed in the menu - much less imaginative than it used to be. The highlight was the goats cheese and sweet potato tartlet - very different. However the main course bhuna was dry and the scampi came with undercooked chips and frankly at £19 was overpriced. Will not be back for a while.

Went at 6pm, when it was pleasantly quiet. It gets noisy later in the evening. The menu is good, though they could do with offering a daily special main course (they do soup of the day, but no other specials). What they do is interesting and tasty, and is well presented, but I can see the menu getting boring for regulars. Very nice serving staff.

Have eaten here on a few occasions and have never been disappointed. In particular, today we were waited on and served by Charlotte. What an asset to any establishment she is. Think the expression is "a keeper". Nothing was too much trouble and she went the extra mile to make sure we had everything requested. (even asking the kitchen to serve us the evening menu out with their usual timings) Thank you!! All this and a cheery smile too.

As always never disappointed with the high quality food and attentive service. Loving the new menu, the presentation is excellent and food is delicious.

Went to try out the new menu with three of my family members and was not disappointed. It was a very varied menu with something for everybody. The food was of a high standard and was extremely tasty from starters to desserts. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Would highly recommend.

New menu !! Great choice on new menu at very reasonable prices. Had lunch there today restaurant busy (Monday) food was excellent and staff most obliging .We were served quickly the food was piping hot. The place is always immaculate,nice toilets and parking at the rear. Will be booking for dinner to try the new evening dinner menu.

I live near this restaurant and I regularly dine there. I have almost tried everything on the menu. The food is really tasty, specially the fish and chips. The fish is fresh and the batter is always so nice and crispy. The ambiance is great. The only negative would be the slow service. The last time I visited this place, I was with a group of friends and it took them a long time to bring our food. But it was so good that we forgave them for it. The desserts are also great and I particularly liked the sugar spun decoration on mine.

Slightly slow service but apart from that it was a good experience. We eat here reasonably frequently and always enjoy it. Maybe the menu could be changed, it has been the same for a long while. Good atmosphere and pleasant decor , good sized car park, friendly staff

Great place to go on a sunny day, you can sit outside on their south facing balcony with a drink or enjoy a meal in their restaurant. It also has a large car park.

Nice place, with tasty food and very friendly welcoming staff. The only issue is we waited a very long time for our meal.

As someone that lives locally we eat here regularly. The service is great, friendly and efficient and the atmosphere is always good no matter what day of the week. The food is very good but the menu remains largely the same for the last couple of years. They have changed it slightly, for example swapping salmon for trout, but the menu needs a total overhaul, a combination of new dishes while keeping the staples. The owners are in danger of boring their regulars.

Disappointing experience. Slow restaurant service and over priced mediocre food. Restaurant and bar area is very noisy - difficult to hear conversation.
