Buckie Farm in Aberdeen City

Local pub, with very friendly staff, happy to help and always provide good service. Michelle always greets us well snd remembers our drinks. Usually go 2-3 times a month. Would love to see the toilets painted/ decorated, and lounge area given a wee lift,suggest tiny flower pots on tables, tealight candles. Lounge area could also,I think accommodate a few more tables.

Had a couple of drinks in the lounge, staff were great, Michelle is always polite and helpful.......she always remembers what we drink so feels very personal. Toilets could be doing with a refurbishment and could probably do more with the lounge area.

Great work by Michelle this morning really enjoyable breakfast and great service as always !

Food wasn't very good, very basic and the cheese burger was greasy

After walking completely around the place trying to find a table that didn't have dirty dishes on as nobody seemed to clear the tables, found a table and no member of staff had even noticed us. Food was underwhelming and there was no atmosphere at all.

Just finished a lovely breakfast, good value for money. Nice atmosphere here, very relaxing. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Michelle makes everyone very welcome on arrival and checks that all is well.

Chicken and fries were dried out as though they were reheated, burger was not good quality tasted worse than a McDonalds burger. Carvery was good.

Honestly, I’ve eaten in several times and every time I was more than satisfied, my rating of zero is based on the Christmas carvery takeaway for four persons, costing £109, I was told there would be three slice of meat with each portion, and there wasn’t, lucky if it was one and a half to two slices per person, we didn’t receive any roasted parsnips as advertised and the portions of potatoes, not enough roast potatoes to go round and the mash, one portion has what I would describe as a table spoon worth, and the other three about two table spoon worth, as for the Veg that was provided, far too many carrots and peas. In fact it seemed this was done to bulk out the portion, suffice to say won’t ever be doing that again.

Very nice environment with soft music. Today, Pizza is half price, and I ordered the cake edge with strong cheese and the style with a pancake base Fried chicken wings and onion rings are excellent.

Acaba de llegar a almorzar e inmediatamente se le hace sentir no bienvenido con cero servicio al cliente y carvery abre a las 11 : 30 pero 11 : 40 todavía organizándolo, entonces uno de los chefs estaba despotricando, luego se dejó caer y rompió los platos sobre la salchicha jurando tan poco profesional que obtuvimos un reembolso y nos fuimos de ahí! ¡Qué pobre experiencia negativa necesita desesperadamente algo de gestión y una lección de servicio al cliente! We celebrated our 6th daughter’s birthday party with friends and we all had a good time. Marjory looked very well after us before and during the pizza party that was organised. Will return gladly!

I will continue to visit Bucke in BOD as I love carvery and countryside athmosphere, but every time I am there I wish that my beef would be softer and not that dry as last time. That is always challenging rindg of fortune. If so, then that would be one star extra to my review. 😅👌

OK, so it is what it is, a chain carvery pub restaurant. But it's the best experience of one of those I've had; staff are friendly, attentive and make an effort to actually be nice (other similar places that's often too much effort) and the carvery is actually pretty good for stuff that has to live under a heat lamp to provide an accessible variety. So if you understand what they do here, you definitely won't be disappointed as they seem very good at it. Great value.

It's ok but not the best quizeen around town. But they do let the dog in.

Had the carvery this time around - veg was lovely so had loads of it ..... but (always a but) I got such a tiny strip of Turkey and I mean strip, that my mate laughed when I showed him lol. Anyways apart from the tiny turkey portions it was a great place. I'm going to stick to something off the menu like the fish (excellent, tartare sauce is awesome) or maybe try the Chicken burgers. We had a bit of banter and a laugh with Marjory and she was very attentive at making sure everything was cleared and if we needed anything else. I do like the Buckie farm and the food is always good albeit, the issue with the Turkey portion this time around 😎. Plenty of other stuff to try though so I will defo be going back.

Not the world's greatest carvery but very good still. The meats were all well cooked and a decent selection of veg. Maybe a bit tight on the meat considering I got a large, not much difference between my other halfs which was a regular size. Would go back again.

the food was ok apart from the sausages and roast potatoes which were burnt and brick hard. disappointed as never had complaints before

Mi esposo y yo fuimos a comer el viernes por la noche con nuestra hija, yerno y nieto bebé. Comimos del menú festivo. Mi marido y yo teníamos lPrawn Cocktail" como entrantes. Éste consistía en 3 - 4 gambas pequeñas, de aspecto blanco, un poco de lechuga flácida, un par de cucharadas de salsa insípida y media rebanada de pan blanco muy barato - a pesar de que el menú describía el pan como "pan de granja multigrano". Fue, francamente, terrible. La "Hamburguesa de Pila de Regalo de Pollo" de nuestra hija, descrita como dos pechugas de pollo fritas del sur rociadas con salsa de arándano y coronadas con un bocado de queso Mozzarella & Camembert y un cerdo enrollado a mano en manta, era en realidad un bollo de aspecto cansado con dos goujones de pollo muy quemados y un puñado de papas fritas empapadas. Me sentí muy decepcionado por ella. ¿Festivo? ¡No lo creo! Dudo que volvamos.

Absolutely shocking plenty vegetables but paper thin slice of beef ,turkey and gammon leaves a lot to be desired .will not be in a hurry going back there .

Friendly, helpful staff and decent carvery food. Like many carveries though, it suffers from having some of the food sitting out for too long - yorkies and stuffing were examples today. And although I actually find the place quite pleasant inside, the other half disagrees, and I can see her point that it can seem a bit soulless when not busy, and too noisy if busy with kids running around. I'd go back, but will have to persuade better half.

Had the worst burger I've ever had👎

The stuffed crust option for the pizzas is worth every penny it's incredible 👌🏻 food was hot and fresh and the staff were kind and professional. The seating was real comfy anf atmosphere of the whole venue is warm and relaxing. Will be back for the Thursday pizza discount for sure 😄

Been many times and always get great service from Marjory and the rest of the staff. They're always friendly and attentive. Sometimes food can be a little overdone hence 4 stars.

Had a lovely carvery breakfast here on 10th October, service couldn’t have been better, sat on for a further two lattes, and chat with my sister and was no hurry to move either, warm and cosy. Girls in particular were marjory and I think Michelle . Will be back again

Mi hermana y yo fuimos a almorzar y no nos decepcionó. Teníamos los nachos y las tiras de pollo que eran increíbles! Las tiras de pollo eran muy crujientes y frescas. Luego tuvimos la pizza de filete de queso filosofal y fue mi favorita de todas. La salsa de queso nachos en la parte superior es muy buena y la corteza era crujiente y delgada. Lo recomendaría encarecidamente ya que el personal era muy amable y el servicio era bueno. No esperamos mucho tiempo para nuestra comida y en general increíble!

Good meal but they forgot the roast potatoes

Veo un montón de críticas negativas aquí, que es una pena y no indicativo de mi visita. No planeado Acabo de llegar al pasar y tengo que decir que el desayuno era absolutamente lugar en. Todo parecía precioso con una gran selección, todo recién cocinado, todo caliente y muy delicioso. Me encantó y gran relación calidad-precio también. Personal muy servicial y educado. Definitivamente volveré. PS. No tengo ninguna conexión o afiliación con Buckie Farm... sólo un cliente bien satisfecho.

Quality is long gone. I thought that it was a one off, returned a second time but the carvery is dry and small in portions. The fish and chips burnt again, dry inside and very greasy... Last time, sorry, I can't recommend this place. It used to be much better many years ago.

Difficult to mark atmosphere high as we went early but food was great and staff helpful. On issue are the sticky tables... It's weird, they said it's the cleaning stuff they use but, can't be diluted correctly then...

Extremely poor service resulting in us leaving after an hour without our food. And poor standards of cleanliness observed.

Updated review 24/8/24 : went tonight, first thing I heard walking in was someone getting a refund, never a good start, second was another couple saying "well just go to dtce farm" should have taken there advice... Ordered on the app as usual. 15 minutes for drinks to arrive, then food 5 mins later, both incorrect and the chips were cremated, tried to get the waitresses attention and she shouted "it's just coming" as she scuttled passed, she came back about 5 minutes later with a camembert, I asked what it was as we hadn't ordered it and also to talk about my initial complaint when I had tried to get her attention 5 minutes previous. She went and got the manageress, who came over asking if everything was ok with out meal... Clearly not being the waitress just told you I'd complained... 25 minutes from ordering, 2 out of 3 mains had arrived and we're inedible, but my daughter's main hadn't arrived (this is apparently the camembert) , they had no recorded of her ordering Mac and cheese with a side of chicken bites... Got a refund for the scampi, then came back with my daughter's Mac cheese, which had clearly been microwaved in a rush, no dough balls on the side like there was supposed to be and the side portion of chips, which were also overdone to the point of inedible, in the end asked for a full refund, won't be back in a hurry. Absolute shambles from start to finish! Oh and another thing... Cash refund for a card paid app order... As "it takes 3 days to go back into your card, cash is easier as I've done it now" as if people's aren't used to a 3-5 days for a card refund... Absolute joke

Came for breakfast on the weekend. 2nd time I've been here and both times the staff were super friendly and helpful. Good value for what you're paying, IMO. Michelle helped us during this visit and was very kind and attentive. Will likely return. Lots of seating and a good place to get some work done during the morning during the week as it's relatively quiet.

Marjory dealt with our complaint like a champ. The nicest lady ever! Served by Moira who was also lovely. Marjory gave my mum a glass of water about a month ago after seeing that she wasn’t feeling great. Thanks Marjory!

Fui con mi esposa y mi hija, ambas tomaron una hamburguesa que disfrutaron. Desafortunadamente elegí el pescado rebozado a mano, que es la porción más pequeña y delgada que me han servido, cómo nunca se deslizó a través de la red nunca lo sabré. Tengo mis dudas de si era eglefino o bacalao, también venía con la piel en la que es inusual en Escocia. Más tarde me dijeron que han cambiado de proveedor. El personal era agradable, pero el servicio era lento. Tendremos que pensarlo dos veces antes de volver.

We went in for breakfast on a Thursday morning, which is help yourself and all you can eat. Unlimited tea served by Michelle who was very attentive and chatty. Great value for money, good selection of items and not super busy. Would come again if we're back up this way.

We visited yesterday evening around 6.30pm for a carvery. There was hardly any meat left and when questioned the server just shrugged and said it was all they had left that day. The food was cold and the roast potatoes tasted like they had been reheated before putting them out. I eventually managed to get the attention of a waitress and explained that the meal was cold so would like a refund - which I got. We last visited in June 2023 and it was lovely then but seems to have gone downhill in the last year. Very disappointing! We won't be visiting next year when we come to Aberdeen to visit family and certainly won't be recommending to anyone.

We went here for my sons 2nd birthday as just wanted a low key relaxing meal..... we waited 30 mins for our meal and the place wasn't busy at all. More frustrating was that there were plenty of staff but they all seemed to be standing around with very little to do. It was clear when our food arrived that it had been sitting for a while as it was cold. My son had the pizza which was tasty.... however there was only cheese and sauce on a very small part of it in the middle. My daughters kids meal of fish fingers looked pretty grim on the plate and the fish fingers were limp and soggy. My burger was the worst of all as it literally tasted like a rustlers burger and the bottom burger was very undercooked. I had 2 bites from the burger and left the remainder. When the staff cleared our plates they asked if I was finished and I advised I was disappointed with the email as the burger tasted really bad.... to which the waitress replied "okay, no worries" and walked away..... It's a real shame as their breakfasts are usually quite nice, but based on this experience I will never return again.

Very welcoming staff, Michelle was very welcoming and on hand to help if we needed it. Popped in for an all you can eat breakfast and a great price and very tasty food.

I wish to come back here and give this place another try but it is just not worth the hassle. I had dinner here. I was catching up with friends that I had not seen for a long time, I arrived in the evening so it was dark, headed inside and had food. The food was nice and the staff were friendly. But 1 week after my visit I recieved a parking charge for £100 from the car park company that operate at Buckie farm. I was first of all unaware about the new parking restrictions since it was not the case the many times I had visited previously and because I arrived at night and it was dark. Staff never alerted us to the fact there was a time restriction either. I overstayed the max time limit by 15 SECONDS, and for months now I have been threatened by this predatory company that manage the parking at Buckie farm. Such a shame because this was somewhere I visited regularly . I was hoping to go there later this year for a big family meal, but the truth is that I do not want any of my family or friends being subjected to the same harassment that I have been for the past 4 months, if god forbid they overstay by more than a second. Watching the clock is the last thing anyone needs when trying to enjoy a meal. If you want to charge your customers who are paying to eat in your restaurant, at least have the decency to either install a parking machine to allow them to pay for their time, and extend if necessary, or at the least, when ordering, alert them to the fact there are restrictions. It has completely put me off visiting Buckie Farm, and until they reconsider their business with Euro car parks, I will be taking my business elsewhere, as will the 6 other people that were with me the day we visited.

We used to come here often and then it went downhill, however, I am pleased to say it has come back, food is one of the best carverys I have been to, good cuts of meat, not overly generous but cut properly so it's proper pieces of meats and not scraps, it was tasty, succulent and whilst there wasn't loads of varieties of vegetables and potatoes what they had was well done, tasty and fresh. For a carcery hard to beat and worth a visit
