This was a second visit to a lovely little cafe in Maud. The food was very good and the rain kept us inside, but there is a great area outside which we enjoyed in the sunshine on our last visit. It's very easy to find, clean and welcoming.
Had a table booked for lunch to meet up with family whilst staying nearby. Felt like we were being rushed for our orders even though there was hardly anybody in. When we ordered, it didn't take long before there was a smokey atmosphere coming from the kitchen which started to irritate everybodys eyes. Food was nothing spectacular. Asked for soup and sandwich but got soup and toastie. Strange decor, almost childlike African theme? We all came out smelling of fried food. Not good.
Myself and my husband had lunch today. It was fantastic! The cafe is lovely Maltese themed and the staff are so welcoming and friendly. We both had a Maltese ciabatta followed by a Maltese almond cake and was just superb!its not just Maltese food there is a good selection of menu and breakfasts. Will definitely recommend and will revisit soon x

Attending a funeral and just about everything handled well.
Only thing I would suggest is when those not going to graveside and waiting in Lounge no Bar was visible so maybe a member of Bar staff could have had quick walk around as most were either elderly or maybe hampered with use of walking sticks etc or those not comfortable going up to a Bar to order and see if anyone wanted anything.
More sales and more happy customers....
I've been twice now. The first time was a disappointment. I went just after lunch finished and dinner started. It was quiet. The feijoda was amazing, but the cheese bread was hard and dry. The meats were also very well done. It was quiet, so it wouldn't have been turned over fast. However, my second visit was excellent. I arrived about 1 pm and the meats were perfect. It was busy, and the service was ace. Everything I ate was delicious, and in one request, they really went the extra mile. Neither visit could I complain about service or atmosphere. One slight disappointment is a lack of brazilian deserts. The deserts are generic and stopped me buying one. If they can keep the bread warm and soft, and add brazilian desserts, it would be 5 stars
