Platform 5 in Aberdeenshire

This was a second visit to a lovely little cafe in Maud. The food was very good and the rain kept us inside, but there is a great area outside which we enjoyed in the sunshine on our last visit. It's very easy to find, clean and welcoming.

Platform 5 specialises in toasted panini, of which a large variety is on offer. I am allergic to egg and I dislike onions, and every variety contains one or both of these, but they were very happy to do me a 'special' panino without either of these ingredients. Service was cheerful, efficient and reasonably quick. Full marks to Platform 5 for staying open until 5 pm, unlike so many tea-rooms which close at tea-time just when one is ready for a cup of tea! I will be happy to go back, but I need to make sure it's not on a Monday, when they are closed.

Platform 5 is how a restaurant should be spotless clean and really good food with friendly staff, lots to choose from with nothing a problem

Booked a table but closed when we arrived. No price to say why, very disappointed. Looked at Facebook page and also no post to say why closed !

Very friendly welcome, great food & lovely coffee. Excellent location for cyclists & walkers. Very good menu for all tastes and can sit in or out.

Great selection of breakfast/lunch paninis and other meals. All freshly made to order, very reasonably priced and clearly very fresh ingredients.

Had lunch here after walking Alpaccas and it was delicious. My wife and I both had panini’s freshly prepared and toasted along with a delicious milkshake. The service was friendly, the place was clean and tidy and the prices were reasonable. We would definitely recommend this place for lunch or afternoon tea.

Came across here by accident and what a great find it was. Very friendly staff, fabulous choice of delicious cakes and great coffee. Would recommend this place to anybody

This is a lovely cafe in the quiet village of Maud. We visited as two families with two babies and they kindly reserved a table for us for lunch. Their specialties are paninis with the most excellent names such as The Bob Marley, The Joan of Arc, The Elmer Fudd etc - great quality ingredients. Great coffees and home bakes. Super friendly service and smart but comfortable surroundings.

Had a fantastic lunch at Platform 5, with so many delicious options on offer we struggled to choose. Everything was homemade and delicious, we will return(possibly tomorrow) to try something different. Rolls, paninis, waffles and ice cream were all delicious. Owners were very knowledgeable and friendly. Genuinely cannot recommend highly enough.

This is a new discovery in Maud and really deserves the trade. It is recently refurbished and is very welcoming. The staff are very friendly and very approachable. Even better is their pannini menu that has something delicious for everybody. Be sure to eat them uour hands and not a knife and fork. To complement this there is a great selection of coffees. You can buy them as beans or ground to use at home. Great experience, thanks

This Cafe is just lovely- very family friendly, and does the BEST paninis ever..Not your bog standard cheese and ham fillings here....Try the "Bob Marley" which is filled with chicken (or pulled pork), mozzarella, red onions, and a delicious sauce. My kids also love the huge freshly made waffles that you can get with Chocolate sauce and icecream! Staff are also great, and you can sit outside in the sun when the weather is good.

We stopped for a coffee, the choice of food looked so good that we had something to eat as well. Very welcoming staff and lots of them.
