Just popped into Freddies chip shop , really lovely food they lady who served me was extremely nice ... I would pop in again if in the area .

Really busy chippy but well worth the wait we will be back.

We were on a trip around the coast and found Freddie's online. Great chippy, nice and clean, locals all popping in. Friendly staff, extensive menu but food was great, chips lovely and not oily, massive portions, 50p ketchup portions were also generous. We sat and ate our chips at the harbour along the road, perfect, just looking at the sea with a chippy.

The best gluten free fish and chips I've ever had. Absolutely delicious. Fish was fresh and moist. Cooked to perfection.

I go there regularly excellent service and the food is hot once I get home

Not from around here, but the food here has been our best memory of Banff. I was surprised I wasn't the first customer just barely one minute after it opened! Portion is large and taste is amazing, definitely recommend.

Best to call in for your order as they are very busy. Parking can be awkward at busy times. This is now our regular as the portions were great and the price was very reasonable. The fish was perfect. Fresh and the batter was thin and crispy.

The ordering was straightforward and preparation wasn't so long from start to finish. Perfectly cooked fish and chips, fish was piping hot 👌 the curry for the cheese, chips and curry was very tasty, not too spicy and fruity which was an Ideal taste for the curry sauce.

2x good fish suppers, both with 2 bits fish as standard, good portion of chips. Very good value for what you get. Bit of a wait for supper, but hey the people were very busy, next time will phone in order .....

Absolutely delicious! The batter was not only tasty but wonderfully crispy without being greasy. The chips were simply lovely, and the portions were unbelievably huge. We traveled all the way from East Lothian to spend a night in Banff, and thanks to glowing reviews, we stumbled upon this gem. Honestly, we couldn't have found a better spot, and when we return to Banff, revisiting this Freddies will be at the top of our list.

I would not normally give a review, as I believe that good service and food is a minimum expectation. My son has come in from work, twice, with a fish supper for me. Very very good. Didn't expect anyone to put a better fish in front of me than Fochabers which has been my go to for neatly 40 years.... well, move over..... my allegiance has moved, resoundingly.. Well done. Jeff.

Tasty food! BUT everything overcooked!!

Delicious. Batter was tasty, crispy and not greasy. Chips were lovely. Husband was very pleased with his gluten free battered haddock. Portions are huge.

Dreadful. Waited over 30mins to get disgusting fish. Dried up, over cooked and more batter than fish. Service was predominantly orders that had been phoned in and were done before people waiting in the shop. Worst fish supper I have had in a long time and given they have fish on the doorstep, this was very disappointing.

Fabulous fish supper including two pieces of fresh mouth-watering haddock with plenty of chips and a side of mushy peas, all cooked fresh to order. Delicious!

This is the worst chippy I’ve ever been in. Overpriced chips that were dry and tasteless. Gave it one star because there wasn’t an option to give it zero.

Omg this is the best chippy I have ever had in my life! the fish is to die for. Had a similar one in Queensland Australia, but nothing compared to this. Mouthwatering and cooked to absolute perfection every time. AMAZING!!!!

Banff has a lot of good takeaways and we have tried most of them. We decided to go for Freddies tonight and we were extremely impressed. Two portions of fish per supper, well cooked with crispy batter and very tasty fish, combined with a generous portion of tasty well cooked chips. On going to pick them up we discovered they were on special offer at a reduced price. We couldn't be happier - sitting here stuffed. Definitely deserving of a five star rating....
