The best restaurants in North East Scotland

We visited The Pig’s Wings in a family group of 3 generations and there was something on the menu to suit everyone. From kid’s meals, to burgers, tacos, loaded fries and several side dishes, every one of us loved the food! The cocktails were incredible too. We were lucky enough to have Calvin as our waiter, he was very knowledgeable about the food and nothing seemed to be too much trouble for him. If you want great food, great cocktails and outstanding customer service, The Pig’s Wings delivers on all fronts.

On travelling through the area I visited Ballater village and found this little gem. I found the surroundings very unique and enjoyable. I had a pot of tea and a cake which was yummy. I found the staff were helpful the environment was clean tidy and organised. I believe the coffee is great too! So if you are in the area definitely check it out 🙂

It used to be the best baker in Aberdeen, but things have went downhill. Hard to get rolls(rowies) after 10 in the morning as so much of them are sent to other places to sell. I used to buy a dozen at a time and put them into the freezer along with the softies. Very handy for someone popping in for a cuppa. It's the people of Northfield who are loosing out. Some lovely staff and but some are more interested at getting a cuppa or a chat to workmates.

Overpriced, slow service, dry chicken main dish and even basic coffee was not made right, Luke warm, had to ask for sugar, just overall nothing special. Will not return.

Lovely little place for a great cup of coffee and on my visit a black pudding and fried egg roll which was fab , staff always friendly and it does feel as though they know everybody who comes in, always a stop for us if in the area. Edit ; The Tuck is now under new ownership and weve been in twice , the food and service has gone up a level and its now a definite place to stop when in the area , try the Murly Benadict absolutely fabulous

Absolutely love this place ,staff are all very welcoming,food is always excellent coffee to die for plenty of variety and teas to Highly recommend going if your in ellon

This Bistro is as good as it gets, there again last Saturday evening with friends and had an excellent dinner. Great starters of scallops & soup, lobster mains and one other main which escapes me, oh and managed a sweet, fabulous. A few drinks including a couple of bottles of wine, very. The sad news is, we were told it was closing permanently the following evening Sunday and it has, due to lack of business which is a terrible shame. We travelled all the way up from Laurencekirk picking up friends en-route as we have done in the past. It a shame an establishment like this have closed.

Always seem to have new staff that are training and inexperienced, very nice and friendly though.

Excellent service and food would highly recommend First class

Not really sure if I'm missing something here but recent reviews are raving about this "little gem" "fresh family pasta" and we just didn't get it. Sadly sat between an 8 and 4 top which both ordered slightly before us, push our 2 top of starters out first was my thinking..... nope we sat and watched the 8 top get starters and the 4 top get starters and mains!! Thankfully we got moved as our starters arrived (40 mins after sitting down), away from the middle of the two tables. Mediocre brushetta and seafood salad.l, something that I could do at home tbh. An hour and 15 after sitting we get two plates, not bowls, of penne pasta clearly not freshly made, with a trickling of wet sauce that barely coated the pasta. Maybe we got them on a bad night but for me it's a no return. Staff licking fingers behind the deli, chefs serving food with hand towels, door open IN OCTOBER and just no real atmosphere or attention to guests or food for that matter. £43 for 2 starters 2 mains, 1 beer 1 juice and 1 pudding, really good price but for sure it's not value for money if you know what I mean. Defo had a snack when we got home as portions are small.

Great little spot on the seafront and the food was good! Friendly and quick service. Would definitely go back when we are next around!

We visited the centre which was amazing, to be met by a most delightful young lady called Hazel who entertained us with the history until a legend of a man called Davie joined us. Davie was born in Braemar and is the most interesting person to talk to. A totally amazing place to visit
