The best restaurants serving British food in Edinburgh, City of Edinburgh and Lothian

No puedo recomendar este pequeño café lo suficientemente alto! Sigo una dieta cetogénica (baja en carbohidratos), y tratar de encontrar una ensalada en Edimburgo (o en cualquier lugar de Escocia, por ejemplo) que no incorpore arroz, lentejas, papas y otros ingredientes altos en carbohidratos es casi imposible. En Café Vivo, tuvieron varios. Tenía la ensalada de halloumi a la parrilla: verduras, guacamole y halloumi, por supuesto. Había tostadas incluidas, pero compartí eso. Estaba delicioso y amplio. Café Vivo es un concurrido establecimiento Royal Mile; el día que estuve allí, no fue una excepción. Sin embargo, el servicio fue rápido, eficiente y amable. Tiendo a evitar los restaurantes Royal Mile porque a menudo son caros y decepcionantes. Café Vivo no. Volveré enseguida. Muy recomendable.

Nice little cafe just opposite the cathedral on the royal mile. A tad pricey but a nice little find for a quick coffee and bite to eat whilst exploring.

Hadn't been here since it changed its name. Strange sort of entrance with a lot of steps. Very very dark back room. Still, staff were friendly and drinks were reasonable!

Maybe I'm jaded after having lived in New York for 4 years, but this business says New York style bagels and they most certainly are not. Very mediocre and overpriced bagel. Their veg cream cheese is very good, but overall I wouldn't return.

Stopped by here on the way home. The place was empty but the kids corner was a bonus for us and kept our 3 yr old son happy! Menu doesn't have much choice but the food was delicious! We had chicken burger and an old Smokey burger. No complaints! Staff and punters were friendly an we will definitely be back again. I dont know why there wasn't more publicity about this place as it defo needs it. Come here if u like no no fuss good pub grub and a place for the kids to play.

Dropped in for lunch after visiting the castle. Nice menu. I had Cullen skink which is a fabulous smoky fish chowder. Caesar salads fine. Service kind and attentive. Steak sandwich flavorful but had a large piece of unchewable gristle, dropping restaurant rating for us. Still, overall a fine experience and definitely recommend.

I read all the negative reviews and wonder if i was at a different place. I had time to kill as OH was at hospital for a scan, so had discovered the park as a place to walk the dogs. Which was lovely. Went to the bistro, had the pancakes, blueberries and greek yoghurt - very nice, tasty enjoyed it with a decent coffee. Went back today and it was closed, previous time it was jumping with people walking their dogs taking in the sun and the outdoor area was pretty full and folks inside as well. I do hope it will reopen?

Excellent! We had a caesar salad, onion rings, sauté greens, veggie lover's foccia and they were VERY good! Veg was fresh, sauces tasted really good, and service was quality care with classic Scottish hospitality.

Mi marido y yo tuvimos una experiencia maravillosa alojándonos en el Glasshouse para mi cumpleaños esta fue nuestra 3a visita y por mucho la mejor x Olivia (Gerente) nos había actualizado a una suite era increíble que era tan encantadora que no podíamos haber pedido más, era hermoso x También Isacc (conserje) era muy servicial, es un personal del hotel tan amable no puede hacer lo suficiente por usted, el desayuno también era muy bueno, nada era un problema

After going to the gallery we went to the cafe for a late lunch. The meals are reasonable value and all fresh, good food.

El entorno es agradable, pero el té de la comida y el servicio son terribles, la leche para el té vino inteligentemente equilibrada boca abajo en la taza de té y se derramó sobre mí. Los bollos se ven bien pero son horribles y secos. Cero ayuda del personal del desultorio. El día estaba borracho. No es un buen café para alguien con discapacidad.

This used to be a fairly bog-standard pub frequented by summer stag parties looking for nose-bag food. One to be avoided. Now a very friendly gastro-pub with nice staff and great service. Super location and dog-friendly. Now attracting families for food rather than stags for drinks. Nice.

Necesita un poco de competencia. Lo visito cuando estoy en la zona. Las fichas tienen una alta rotación y son consistentemente buenas. Me gusta mucho la sal y la salsa. Todo bien hasta ahora, pero el pescado en sí fue decepcionante. Un poco delgada y la masa podría ser más ligera. También es caro. Es por eso que digo que podrían hacer con la competencia, ya que las opciones chippy para llevar por aquí son muy limitadas

Dopo la passeggiata a Edimburgo, abbiamo cenato comodi nel ristorante sotto l'hotel, bellissimo ambiente, personale gentile e cucina di buon livello a prezzi giusti

Gran servicio con una gama decente de bebidas. Perfecto para un placer previo al cine o si mencionas que estás a punto de ver una película, pondrán tu bebida en un vaso de plástico para que puedas disfrutarla en el teatro. También permiten portátiles hasta las 7 pm, por lo que es un gran lugar para sentarse y trabajar durante el día.
