The best restaurants serving British food in Edinburgh and Lothian

Booked a table originally for Friday, got a message to let us know they had a problem and couldn't serve food. Glad we rearranged for the next night. Food great, photos don't do it justice, great service and only disappointment was we didn't stay longer (long day after all the excitement of the rugby!) to enjoy the atmosphere 😃

Had a brilliant dinner here on the 6/3. We didn’t book but they had room for us. The burger was really tasty I liked how it was cooked. Thanks to Shannon who served us on the bar for her recommendations.

Absolutely shocking service! Food was awful! Waitress was very rude and miserable! Ok if you just wanted a drink sitting outside, anything else, avoid!

Great place the drag show was unreal brilliant banter with them all natural and not forced banter at all

Just love the place. All the staff are lovely and it's a great place for younger kids to play outside while adults get to enjoy their meal and kids don't get worked up with having to sit at the table the whole time. Would be nice if the other two toilets were in use in the female toilets as only one was in use

Good food and excellent customer service.

Oh dear what has happened?! Although it has always been expensive you didn’t mind as much as service was always great and had a buzz. Sadly it’s died a death no atmosphere. Wine came before water very very poor.

Lovely breakfast. Friendly and polite staff. Good value for money Variety on lunch menu which is also good value. Food served fast and piping hot

Beautiful hotel, service wasn't the best, we had problems using the QR code and couldn't get a paper menu from several servers so we went elsewhere for dinner.

Inexplicably just stopped being a restaurant. Can't find anything about it online. Open but for what purpose I don't know. Now the guests at the associated premier inn next door have nowhere to eat. We were regulars and it was great to have somewhere affordable and reliable to get a meal. We are owed an explanation.

A fabulous place for a relaxing dinner and breakfasts. Part of the fabulous Dalmahoy Hotel. Lovely friendly, but not intrusive service. Has the steak (flat iron) and it was perfect. Thank you.

Cheap tea - bitter and horrible Carrot cake had very little carrot in it and was absolutely full of sugar! Far tooooo sweet! Yuk. Left a horrific after taste in my mouth.

Ordered on app. Had to go to bar 25 minutes later to ask for our drinks, while waiting in a queue for the drinks to be poured our starters arrived. While eating our starter our main arrived and was just left on the table. Then had to go to the bar and ask for cutlery. Starter plates not removed from table. Still there with main plates when we left. As well as 2 rounds of drinks glasses. All tables round about us covered in plates not cleared after people left. Shocking service will not be back and will not be recommending anyone goes there.
