Good food, decent price, good service.

Fab wee pub. Good food. Loved they do OAP size portions. Staff lovely.

Fairly priced food, but pretty poor. Burger was decent enough for price but the rest of the family had meals with re heated gammon & frozen veg. No food place should be serving frozen veg in 2025!

Fish and chips were disgusting. Staff very unfriendly, food was put on table no one came back to seeing everything was alright. Young girl came to clear plates ,when I said to her the meal was terrible she lifted the plates and walked away with a smirk on her face,open the kitchen door shouted to staff in kitchen and the whole dining area heated them laughing STAY CLEAR !!!!!!! WASTE OF MONEY!!!!!!!

Delicious food, large portions, reasonably priced.

We come here quite a lot family fave. Service is brilliant as always a lot of us so they really accommodate. Had the Carvery before which is nice & good value for money. Burgers r pretty good too. Wee play area bit for the younger ones inside & also a playpark outside which is brill in summer swings, basket swing slide etc.

Staying at a hotel nearby and came here for the carvery. Beautiful. Small was ideal for us as the plate is not as small as other places I've had a carvery. It was so good we came back the next day. I was going to try something of the main menu, but couldn't resist the carvery! Didn't fill my plate too much so I could have a dessert. Biscoff Sundae - huge and absolutely gorgeous. Staff friendly. Would 100% come again next time we visit Edinburgh

Quick meal on way back from climbing.. really quick service the food was good.. daughter especially loved the garlic bread with cheese.. would go back again 😀

Been a few times. I've not tried the carvery but the main menu is amazing. Big portions at very reasonable prices. Always quiet when I have visited.

Absolutely disgusting 🫣 the steak was greasy and chewy and frozen veg I'm now ill in bed being sick with your food I'm taking this further ! Won't be back ! My husbands steak pie had jelly bits it in everything was not good £45 down the drain I'm taking it to trading standards iv been sick since I left this place !!

great food, great atmosphere, great service, acceptable prices, AMAZING music, just overall good vibes! fairly cheap for a good quality carvery although their meals are a little more expensive than for example wetherspoons, but i think the atmosphere makes up for it guitars all over the walls, feels like a 60’s-70’s american diner them with many classic songs playing, banish artwork on canvas prints around the walls just a great place to go out for a wee meal or drink

Stopped in for supper and it was great. Staff was very good and the fresh fish and chips was delicious.

We have regularly visited the ratho park as a family of 6 and always enjoy the food and service is always great. There is an outdoor park for the kids to play in, on our recent visit we learned there is a kids play area, sadly was closed (26/9) for repairs but would be great to keep kids entertained

Owners opened a pub in Dalkeith and closed it with no notice to the staff. Dont support these crooks.

Will not be returning. Food was dreadful.

Would never go bk again half meals finished before I got my first drink waited nearly an hour for meal then they got order wrong terrible service never again

Service was shocking considering the place was quiet. The waitress taking our order looked like she couldn’t be bothered and walked away when we were giving our order. It took at least 20 mins for someone to bring our drinks over. Wouldn’t recommend

Just popped in for coffee and a desert. There was no one in when we got there at 1pm. The girl behind the bar was very pleasant and took our order in good time. I can recommend the millionaire shorbread and custard!!!! As the afternoon went on, there were quite a few patrons came. I would say it looked a bit dated, especially the very pink ladies' loos.

Amazing food and drinks and the girls there were really pleasant and nice. Will be a regular place for us whilst in Edinburgh. Couldn't recommend enough and the chicken and beef curry is amazing!!

Was with my daughter and grandson today.the food was good. The service at 1st was good. After we ate our main meal nobody came and asked if we wanted anything else. The empty plates laid on the table for well over 30 minutes. My daughter ended up asking for a dessert menu then ended up having 2 go up and put in an order. The place was not overly busy so no excuses. I have been before and everything was excellent. Will try again and hope its like the 1st time

I was visiting Heriot-Watt University and wanted lunch nearby. The sat nav suggested the Ratho Park carvery. I arrived ay 12.30, place ws quite quiet. No carvery for lunch or dinneronly on the weekend. I had Haggis balls for starter with a pepper cream sauce which was very tasty. For main I had the braveheart burger with beef parry, bacon, fried egg and haggis in a brioche bun. Unfortunately the bun broke up after a few bites but the burger was very tasty. Not bad restaurant and service was good. Not very busy.

I was driver of a party of 32 Chinese. At the door the girl came to me and said would you like to be seated seperate from group.I said ok that’s fine , I was lead to table 20 asked what I would like to drink I replied a coke please ,she said I will open a tab at bar all fine so far.Drink didn’t arrive so thought I would join que for food as big que I got to go ftont ( driver perk) When I was being served looked over and people sitting at my table told the chef who said I sort it went off and woman came back and said that table booked you sit at back of pub ??? Got my food and went to where the girls were standing and asked where am I sitting now ?? One lead me to a table at top of pub no cutlery no salt or pepper nothing . Then a woman who I can only describe as maybe manager came to me with knife and fork and said you meaning me was very rude and won’t have it in this place I tried to explain what had happened but it fell on deaf ears when she finally got the whole story she said oh ok and walked away Food was not good and they sat me at a table that had a dog with them , being allergic to dogs this was not suitable never was I asked about allergies to dogs Will not be visiting that place again Ps Also no parking for a coach

The food is okay, but I didn't like the employee's behavior. I asked her to cut the burger in half. The order came and she didn't cut it. I asked her to cut it. She said to me, "Do you have a knife?" I'm sorry, but that's your job.

Booked a table for 5 for a meal at 7pm. Told the restaurant was open until 9 pm but obviously on this occasion the staff were looking for an early night. A quiet evening with only one more table occupied. Everything was rushed and very little dialogue with the servers. Two popular items on the menu not available. Food mediocre. 7.40 asked for apple pie for dessert to be told not available as kitchen was closed and oven turned off. No offer of coffee and staff attempting to clear the table as some of our party still eating. Never felt so unwanted and certainly won't be back.

Unfriendly serving staff, no atmosphere , large plates of food but all just tasted the same , bland ....would never recommend and definitely won't be back...

We had been out for a drive, decide to have dinner somewhere. Someone suggested the Ratho Park, none of us had been before and we won’t be back….we walked in, four men were sitting at the bar another couple were at a table no staff to be seen! We sat down and waited on someone to appear, no one did after about 10 minutes. During that time we had time to look around, the decor was very tired, the table was very sticky. We decided to leave!

Bit expensive but my father in law paid 😆 aside from that nice staff great food

Beautiful restaurant in a lovely location. Deceided to go last minute for dinner with the family so glad we did . Food was beautiful. Lovely staff and compliments to the chef. We will defo be back its definitely best carvery in Edinburgh.

Fantastic experience, family friendly and the food was fantastic. Great indoor and outdoor play area.

The food was fantastic with generous portions sizes. Very reasonably priced too. Staff were brilliant and very friendly and helpful. There is an indoor kids activity room with lots of toys and outdoor play park. Plenty of free parking too.

Great find recommended by campsite. Food reasonably priced for decent portions. Just one issue - if you don't like onion don't order the steak pie (full of it). Lovely other than that. Waiter was very pleasant as well

We arrived one hour before the closing time and a girl put us out in a really bad mood.

The young guy who was working at the carving station was amazing. The food was great. The landscape around was breath taking.

Nothing vegan on the menu but the chef was really accommodating and cooked us a special vegan meal. Thank you again!

One of the best steak pies you will find anywhere.

Can't say much about this place other then when my wife and i along with another couple walked up to the entrance an apparent fist fight had broken out between what appeared to be two patrons and then staff standing outside got involved i believe. (They were wearing all black like wait staff). Needless to say wife and i turned around and left.

Great place to eat, portions very generous, friendly staff, reasonably priced

Nothing to do on a Monday evening or any evening tbh you wouldn't be wasting you're time with a wee trip here. Very inviting friendly staff and slightly elevated gastro pub food cooked well and served with a smile. We sampled the lasagne and fish and chips and they were both excellent nice portions and well cleaned up. We are going to start going regularly and will try everything on the menu thanks for a very tasty treat.

American 1950s/60s-themed pub/carvery style restaurant. Good food, good service and we didn't have to wait for a table when we went.

The carvery on a Saturday and Sunday is excellent good selection of vegetables and generous amount of meat

Tables sticky and all different styles . Upholstery worn and dirty . Not sure how a burger can be so tasteless. A portion of nachos on the main dish burnt to a crisp. Mum’s omelette looked good and was enjoyed. My partner’s Sizzling fajitas were not sizzling . The place is tired and fairy lights don’t make it special.

Exactly what you need for a Sunday lunch

Lovely food, very reasonably priced. We had carvery and plenty of it, very tasty.

My family and I have been regular visitors for a few months now, always friendly service and delicious food. Today was completely different. We waited quite a long time for the main course but it is Sunday a lot of work I understand we will wait. 10 minutes after the second course was finished the waitress came over and took away only part of the plates. No one came back for more and no one offered dessert. We waited another 20 minutes at the table. No one was interested in us. It wasn't the fault of the large number of guests because 3 waitresses were standing at the console and chatting, when we left another two waiters had free time. As guests we felt disrespected and are unlikely to return there again.

Great food. Casual dinner. Good music. We will come back when we visit eddinburgh again

Food was terrible I had chicken fajitas looked more like dog food full of grizzle and black meat the steak pie was salty and the kids nuggets were so dry.service was poor young girls working and not a smile In sight. I felt like I was asking for gold when I asked for cutlery as our dinner was sitting going cold. WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Went to this place had a fish when it came to table it smelt couldn't eat it so asked for a box to take it away was going to give it to the dog the service was rubbish the young girl was OK but rest was rubbish had to ask for desert menus and ask to clear empty glasses when home started to take batter off fish and it was really smelling made my freind sick didn't give it to dog threw it in bin

Food was OK but nothing great potions size was not great came home and made a Sandwick was still hungry chips were cheap and nasty went with family.

Staff very friendly not over the top helpful quick service I had the carvery. Excellent . I've been here before both times served excellent food.

Lewis the chef was the king of meats great customer service and very friendly food is great and atmposphere lovley would recommend 👌

Negatives: Kids play area closed so our disappointed kids got to sit and look at the area whilst they ate but couldn't go in. Kids macaroni stone cold. Haggis balls so overdone that I couldn't chew them. Soggy, untoasted panini. Service sin smile. Positives: Partner enjoyed a cold cider. We left.

We went on Monday for food and drinks. The food came quite quickly and was nice with generous portions. The service was also very pleasant as were all the staff. I think that is due for a refurb as that is the only thing that I would say let tha place down. All in all good value and good quality for your money 👍

Nice food, great prices and friendly staff. Had a carvery and a few drinks on New Years Eve before heading into the city in the bus for the Hogmanay party. No frills, family orientated restaurant.

We booked here for a group of 5 adults and a 4 year old child for a birthday Sunday lunch. We were given a nice welcome and seated in the conservatory. Most of us chose the carvery but one had steak pie and the child had chips and veg he had chosen. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was fresh, hot, and very tasty. The birthday cake was taken to the kitchen and brought to the table with candles lit on request. Thanks to the staff for a lovely experience and delicious food. Happy Christmas to them all.

had lunch with my family and it was fine. it was quite quiet when we were there, but were served quickly and the food was very good (pub food). I had the stake pie, and it was really good. the place is looking a wee bit tired, the kids were excited to play in the kids corner, only to find it was closed, and being used as a store room. The park outside was good, but showing its age. Dog friendly which was also very good! will be back

Excellent experience Alanna at the bar was wonderfully personable helping with local information. We got there as the kitchen closed and the chef offered to cook for us. Good food, large portions. Highly recommended.

Gluten free fajitas was served without wrap but they didn't tell that before. We had to order a side chips but it was billed separately. This is why the 4 stars. Apart from this the food was delicious

I nearly was seriously injured when the staples came out from the seating and scratched my leg

1 7 people went to a carvery ,for my mums 90th birthday. the person who took our booking should have told me theres no carvery untill the weekend .everyone who had chips with there meal were all pissed because the chips were so the cheapest chips ever in our lives.They were burned.

First visit and was impressed with service , and food was great 👍

Called in at 7pm as it says closing time is 8pm. We were told the kitchen is already closed. So don't go there for dinner unless you go very early.

My wife and I went for lunch, we were first in. I had to ask the member of staff who was waiting on our table if it would be possible to turn down the volume of the music,it was pretty loud. the music was turned down to a suitable level. Our order was then taken ,my wife ordered a gammon steak and said to the lady taking our order that she had an allergic reaction to tomatoes so could she make sure that the meal had no tomatoes with it ,my wife then said just leave off any salad, the lady then confirmed that the meal would consist of chips with gammon steak and a slice of pineapple. 15 minutes later our plates arrived, my fish and chips looked great but my wife's plate came with salad and tomato... The plate was swiftly removed and returned a few minutes later It is a shame about the lack of communication. My meal was really nice and the portions are pretty big. I would go back , some attention to detail required

My wife and I had a lovely meal last night. Both had steak pie after seeing recommendations and it was lovely. Puddings were huge but really nice. Good service and atmosphere. Will be back.

4 of us went for the carvery. The chef was jolly generous with our slices and there was a good selection of vegetables to help yourself from. The restaurant was busy but there were no long waits. Good value.

Restaurant needs a refurb, looks run down in places. The floor was split at our table, didn’t look clean. Carvery food was poor luke warm and not very nice. We hardly ate a thing it was awful, kids enjoyed the play area.

This is normally a restaurant we would go to occasionally, not expecting anything special, but the food and service has always been fairly good. Today we decided to go there and found the service deplorable and the food, after waiting an hour, nonexistent. Yes, we sat at our table after ordering for three quarters of an hour waiting for our food. We asked a waitress what had happened to our order and told it would be another twenty minutes. The manager said they were sorry but they were extremely busy. Not true. They had been busy, but only around a quarter of the tables were occupied at that time. Obviously, they were under staffed like many places. But what really annoyed us was the fact that they did not warn us when we asked for a table that there would be a long wait for the food. The manager did not agree that we should have been warned. That says it all.

You have to try the steak pie, absolutely amazing, so tender it fell f my fork,more than once, the puff pastry everything you'd ever want, I asked for mash potatoes and the girl gave me them from the carvery, very accommodating friendly, my sister is disabled and was very tired,they came and got our order and couldn't be more helpful, wonderful staff and great atmosphere.

My husband and I are regularly there...and can't fault any of the service or food, and staff are all lovley
