Went to Gary's memorial, and the staff and owners gave us the best service and food that you could wish for. Thank you so much.

Fantastic experience, family friendly and the food was fantastic. Great indoor and outdoor play area.

The food was fantastic with generous portions sizes. Very reasonably priced too. Staff were brilliant and very friendly and helpful. There is an indoor kids activity room with lots of toys and outdoor play park. Plenty of free parking too.

Great find recommended by campsite. Food reasonably priced for decent portions. Just one issue - if you don't like onion don't order the steak pie (full of it). Lovely other than that. Waiter was very pleasant as well

We arrived one hour before the closing time and a girl put us out in a really bad mood.

The young guy who was working at the carving station was amazing. The food was great. The landscape around was breath taking.

Can't say much about this place other then when my wife and i along with another couple walked up to the entrance an apparent fist fight had broken out between what appeared to be two patrons and then staff standing outside got involved i believe. (They were wearing all black like wait staff). Needless to say wife and i turned around and left.

Nothing to do on a Monday evening or any evening tbh you wouldn't be wasting you're time with a wee trip here. Very inviting friendly staff and slightly elevated gastro pub food cooked well and served with a smile. We sampled the lasagne and fish and chips and they were both excellent nice portions and well cleaned up. We are going to start going regularly and will try everything on the menu thanks for a very tasty treat.

American 1950s/60s-themed pub/carvery style restaurant. Good food, good service and we didn't have to wait for a table when we went.

The carvery on a Saturday and Sunday is excellent good selection of vegetables and generous amount of meat

Tables sticky and all different styles . Upholstery worn and dirty . Not sure how a burger can be so tasteless. A portion of nachos on the main dish burnt to a crisp. Mum’s omelette looked good and was enjoyed. My partner’s Sizzling fajitas were not sizzling . The place is tired and fairy lights don’t make it special.

Lovely food, very reasonably priced. We had carvery and plenty of it, very tasty.

My family and I have been regular visitors for a few months now, always friendly service and delicious food. Today was completely different. We waited quite a long time for the main course but it is Sunday a lot of work I understand we will wait. 10 minutes after the second course was finished the waitress came over and took away only part of the plates. No one came back for more and no one offered dessert. We waited another 20 minutes at the table. No one was interested in us. It wasn't the fault of the large number of guests because 3 waitresses were standing at the console and chatting, when we left another two waiters had free time. As guests we felt disrespected and are unlikely to return there again.

Great food. Casual dinner. Good music. We will come back when we visit eddinburgh again

Food was terrible I had chicken fajitas looked more like dog food full of grizzle and black meat the steak pie was salty and the kids nuggets were so dry.service was poor young girls working and not a smile In sight. I felt like I was asking for gold when I asked for cutlery as our dinner was sitting going cold. WILL NOT BE RETURNING

Went to this place had a fish when it came to table it smelt couldn't eat it so asked for a box to take it away was going to give it to the dog the service was rubbish the young girl was OK but rest was rubbish had to ask for desert menus and ask to clear empty glasses when home started to take batter off fish and it was really smelling made my freind sick didn't give it to dog threw it in bin

Staff very friendly not over the top helpful quick service I had the carvery. Excellent . I've been here before both times served excellent food.

Food was OK but nothing great potions size was not great came home and made a Sandwick was still hungry chips were cheap and nasty went with family.

Lewis the chef was the king of meats great customer service and very friendly food is great and atmposphere lovley would recommend 👌

Negatives: Kids play area closed so our disappointed kids got to sit and look at the area whilst they ate but couldn't go in. Kids macaroni stone cold. Haggis balls so overdone that I couldn't chew them. Soggy, untoasted panini. Service sin smile. Positives: Partner enjoyed a cold cider. We left.

We went on Monday for food and drinks. The food came quite quickly and was nice with generous portions. The service was also very pleasant as were all the staff. I think that is due for a refurb as that is the only thing that I would say let tha place down. All in all good value and good quality for your money 👍

Nice food, great prices and friendly staff. Had a carvery and a few drinks on New Years Eve before heading into the city in the bus for the Hogmanay party. No frills, family orientated restaurant.

We booked here for a group of 5 adults and a 4 year old child for a birthday Sunday lunch. We were given a nice welcome and seated in the conservatory. Most of us chose the carvery but one had steak pie and the child had chips and veg he had chosen. Everyone enjoyed their meal. The food was fresh, hot, and very tasty. The birthday cake was taken to the kitchen and brought to the table with candles lit on request. Thanks to the staff for a lovely experience and delicious food. Happy Christmas to them all.

had lunch with my family and it was fine. it was quite quiet when we were there, but were served quickly and the food was very good (pub food). I had the stake pie, and it was really good. the place is looking a wee bit tired, the kids were excited to play in the kids corner, only to find it was closed, and being used as a store room. The park outside was good, but showing its age. Dog friendly which was also very good! will be back

Excellent experience Alanna at the bar was wonderfully personable helping with local information. We got there as the kitchen closed and the chef offered to cook for us. Good food, large portions. Highly recommended.

Gluten free fajitas was served without wrap but they didn't tell that before. We had to order a side chips but it was billed separately. This is why the 4 stars. Apart from this the food was delicious

I nearly was seriously injured when the staples came out from the seating and scratched my leg

1 7 people went to a carvery ,for my mums 90th birthday. the person who took our booking should have told me theres no carvery untill the weekend .everyone who had chips with there meal were all pissed because the chips were so the cheapest chips ever in our lives.They were burned.

First visit and was impressed with service , and food was great 👍

Called in at 7pm as it says closing time is 8pm. We were told the kitchen is already closed. So don't go there for dinner unless you go very early.

My wife and I went for lunch, we were first in. I had to ask the member of staff who was waiting on our table if it would be possible to turn down the volume of the music,it was pretty loud. the music was turned down to a suitable level. Our order was then taken ,my wife ordered a gammon steak and said to the lady taking our order that she had an allergic reaction to tomatoes so could she make sure that the meal had no tomatoes with it ,my wife then said just leave off any salad, the lady then confirmed that the meal would consist of chips with gammon steak and a slice of pineapple. 15 minutes later our plates arrived, my fish and chips looked great but my wife's plate came with salad and tomato... The plate was swiftly removed and returned a few minutes later It is a shame about the lack of communication. My meal was really nice and the portions are pretty big. I would go back , some attention to detail required

My wife and I had a lovely meal last night. Both had steak pie after seeing recommendations and it was lovely. Puddings were huge but really nice. Good service and atmosphere. Will be back.

4 of us went for the carvery. The chef was jolly generous with our slices and there was a good selection of vegetables to help yourself from. The restaurant was busy but there were no long waits. Good value.

Restaurant needs a refurb, looks run down in places. The floor was split at our table, didn’t look clean. Carvery food was poor luke warm and not very nice. We hardly ate a thing it was awful, kids enjoyed the play area.

This is normally a restaurant we would go to occasionally, not expecting anything special, but the food and service has always been fairly good. Today we decided to go there and found the service deplorable and the food, after waiting an hour, nonexistent. Yes, we sat at our table after ordering for three quarters of an hour waiting for our food. We asked a waitress what had happened to our order and told it would be another twenty minutes. The manager said they were sorry but they were extremely busy. Not true. They had been busy, but only around a quarter of the tables were occupied at that time. Obviously, they were under staffed like many places. But what really annoyed us was the fact that they did not warn us when we asked for a table that there would be a long wait for the food. The manager did not agree that we should have been warned. That says it all.

You have to try the steak pie, absolutely amazing, so tender it fell f my fork,more than once, the puff pastry everything you'd ever want, I asked for mash potatoes and the girl gave me them from the carvery, very accommodating friendly, my sister is disabled and was very tired,they came and got our order and couldn't be more helpful, wonderful staff and great atmosphere.

My husband and I are regularly there...and can't fault any of the service or food, and staff are all lovley

We had lunch today after a few years with friends. Very tasty food, I had chicken mushroom pie,we didn't wait long for food. for dessert we had ice cream.

Smaczne jedzenie w przystępnej cenie. obsługa bardzo miła i pomocna. Porcje w sam raz,nie za duże albo małe. Gotuje kucharz ze smakiem. Lody też pyszne i świeże. Polecam, Ja na pewno wrócę jak będzie okazja

What a gem! We walked up from our hotel for dinner and enjoyed milkshakes, lasagna and kids Mac n cheese. We actually loved it so much we came back the next day for lunch which we all had a fantastic steak pie! The staff were all friendly, hard working and all around great! Would highly recommend this place if you’re passing through!

Great food and very friendly staff! The prices are very reasonable compared to the restaurants around here and you will find good taste with this lower price. We tried 2 beef burgers, 1 chicken burger, a panini with chicken and mozzarella and a soup of the day so far, and all the choices came with great taste and big portions. Also, the environment is so calm with nice people & good music.

Service very slow, appears to be understaffed, only 2 servers covering restaurant tables and bar. We were in a large party and some were finished their main before others had been served their main The food itself was excellent, well cooked, tasty and ample portions

Disappointed with the place after reading good reviews online. Went in at 6pm for dinner, got greeted and sat down quickly, then it went downhill. The staff seemed very impatient to take out order, and very abrupt. Asked for diet coke and mixed fruit cider, got full fat coke and raspberry cider instead. Then the food order, not many veggie options, so asked for Mac n Cheese, which in a few moments we were told is unavailable, then asked if the Veg Pasta Bake is, which was, so we enquired can they not use the pasta for pasta bake in the macaroni, which the response was negative, so under my assumption the food is made in batches and then reheated, as per requests, which doesnt strike me as a fresh home made food as they advertise themselves to be. Atmosphere was dull, not very busy, staff not exactly very pleasant, menus looked like they've not been replaced for about 30 years since i could hardly read anything on them. Overall, the experience was very poor from start to finish, most importantly staff being very abrupt and impatient. In the end we left without ordering any food, paid for the wrong drinks! and left somewhere else.I have spent over 10 years in hospitality business, and cant say there was any hospitality there at all. I would give 0 stars if i could.

This meal used to be one of the better carveries, but not now. The Turkey used to be a whole Turkey, but its now just a Turkey Joint. The vegetables were very hard , and cauliflower cheese was so stodgy even the gravy was cold, yet it was only 5pm, so still a few hours ro go. Its sad to see this to be honest. Only good thing was the laugh from a young lad called March. He was behind the food counter cutting meats etc, and he has the banter, and was very polite. Because the chap who showed us to a table, but I've seen more life on a bone comb. He had no manners, no conversation, nothing. Didn't even check if where he put us was ok? Never explained anything to us about, you now order at the table , and don't pay till after the meal now. Thank Goodness we have a Toby near us. xxx

Visited with friends and family for a Sunday dinner. Opted for the small carvery. I had Turkey and ham. Great selection on the potatoes and veg spread. Really pleasant staff, excellent quality for the price in a clean, comfortable venue. I will certainly be back.

Friendly service. Went when quiet. No booking in advance but was welcomed in all the same. Carvery not on till Thursday through to Sunday. Over the road from the Dalmahoy Hotel. So if you fancy a change of scene from the hotel it's worth a look.

Food mediocre ... seasonal veg from a tin .... Service slow.

Was there on 25th February 2023 What a let down 4 adults so 3 get there meal 25 mins 1 adult still waiting then someone decides yo come to table to say sorry it will be an other 5 minutes 8 minutes past they come back and say sorry will be another 5 minutes then another time passes and someone comes back and say sorry will be other few minutes by this time other friends had finished their meal so told to cancel yhey had audacity yo say OK we will take it of bill will definitely won't be back and would not recommend

We visited the pub whilst we were staying at the Dalmahoy hotel across the road for our Christmas break. We booked to have the 3 course Christmas Day dinner. From the second we arrived to the second we left we were made to feel so welcome The staff were extremely organised and everything was cooked to perfection. The price was only 49.99 which for christmas day was very reasonable, we were so full we couldn't eat most of it unfortunately. We would have visited again during our stay but with it being Bank Holiday the pub was only open at limited times. If we are ever back in Edinburgh this is one place definitely we would come back to. Thank you Ratho Park for making our Christmas Day so special

Nice meals good service a reasonable price for meals.

Had Christmas Dinner here with the family. Very disappointed! Paid almost £60 each and we were served slop. No other word for it. Some of the food was unidentifiable. Only the cooked meats were OK.

We used to love coming here. It is getting more run down now, looks wise and is only open until 8pm or 9pm and they chase you out. The food is decent though and the staff are lovely.
