Don't go, we ordered some simple nachos and it took 1 hour, when we complained, they came to verify the payment doubting that we had paid, after verifying they brought us the nachos. They treated us very badly, being a community bar they should have made it more cool, we finished eating and went to another bar. A disappointment 🤨👎

Great venue and atmosphere when busy. Friday and Saturday nights have good vibes and music. The service can vary from welcoming and friendly through to getting a blank stare and silence when you go to the bar to order. I have found that some of the male bar staff are not so welcoming and can be quite arrogant. Unless you are a mate of theirs, only then will you get their undivided attention and a ‘hello’ and ‘thank you’ when you are ordering a drink. It’s a great night out if you don’t care that some of the bar staff don’t care.

Amazing cool and clean environment

CC Blooms in Edinburgh is fun after hours. Loved the music, chill vibes, and a super friendly crowd and staff. Perfect spot to dance, drink, and have a blast. I wouldn’t miss it. Shoutout to security and bartenders as they were all super kind and friendly, too.

A Hidden Gem for Any Day of the Week! I stumbled upon this cute and cosy bar on a Tuesday evening, and it was a delightful experience. The atmosphere is perfect for a relaxed night out, but I can easily imagine it being a lively spot on the weekends. The beer selection is fantastic, and the decor adds a lovely touch to the overall vibe. Even though it was a bit quiet for a weeknight, it only added to the charm. Full marks from me!

Security guys working tonight were the BEST and exceptional!!!! I will be back just because of their nice atmosphere!

Been here many times and specially came all the way from Glasgow just to visit CC Bloom’s. As always, Annie & team overly accommodating. Drinks are fantastic, and the staff are very friendly. From shows downstairs to a busy atmosphere and music upstairs, this venue collectively covers everything you could be looking for on a fun night out with friends or a date in Edinburgh. Undoubtedly will be back and thanks again to Annie and the rest of the dedicated friendly team here at CC’s!

I entered this establishment and was not received in any way. One of the workers passed by me two times and didn’t even say a word. When asked for a table to eat dinner the staff said and I quote “The kitchen is too small, we can’t make any of the big plates”, which basically means they serve snacks and it’s impossible to have a decent meal. I don’t recommend this place at all.

Jacob was an amazing bartender, he was able to meet our cocktail needs. Cocktails were 10/10 with the Panther Milk liqueur strawberry. Absolutely recommend. Amazing atmosphere, very welcoming and comforting as ever gay bar should feel.

I really like this place but the bouncers ruin it completely they are so aggressive. They push you unprovoked. I think the bouncers just need changed and then the place is great again. I won't visit again until there is a change

The bouncers are aggressive, they shout at you for no reason and they have a weird powers trip of not letting people in. My bf and I were refused entrance on the basis that we wore “sports clothes”. Meanwhile they let in a bunch of guys wearing sports clothes. When I requested to speak with the manager they made me wait for 30 minutes. The supposed manager came out and didn’t even make eye contact with me or spoke with me. She just spoke with the bouncers and went back in. Absolutely disgrace for cc blooms. To refuse entry to good looking gay men when it’s supposed to be a gay bar. Sort yourselves out babes x

I been here for 3 year and i love cc before, but the guards now is so annoying. They are so disrespectful and don’t allow to entering and long waiting even it not busy. Before it was really nice there. I prefer the street now. Please change the guard to previous people they were friendly and welcoming.

I don’t think I had ever felt looked down and just treated so “different” especially in an lgbt bar as they sell themselves. I’ve been there twice with some girlfriends and with my gf the 2nd time (only cuz I gave it the chance it was my imagination). I’m non binary and u guess I come across as trans; but I’d really not recommend this place to anyone. After that I’ve been asking in queer groups from uni and experiences aren’t that much different, they just sell them selves as lgbt, and apparently their drag events are a hit; but on a daily basis, no one would go to this place as a first option. There aren’t that many other queer options in the city, but believe me, all those are better. This last night, the guard even doubled checked my Id “just to make sure it wasn’t fake while looking me as if I was so out a place (ofc all that after being such a dream to my gf); inside the story wasn’t very different but they’d just ignored me even though clearly talking to both of us. At that point I was just checking if I had anything weird on me, or I looked that bad; anyway, this place s so dead to me

Ordered two doubles and two shots at the bar, noticed that the bartender gave me the card machine without it asking me for a tip. The card machine will ask you if you’d want to give a tip or not, I usually would however I noticed it went straight to approx £38. I then found that the bartender had tipped themselves £5.06 on top of a £33 bill that I paid for. After complaining, they offered me a “free drink” instead of my actual money back. They essentially gave me drinks that I had paid for with my tip?? Again, happy to tip but don’t be cheeky.

Went to a club night for uni students and was totally appalled by how security was treating people. my mates were in the bathroom stalls together (as most girls do in the club) and security started banging on the door and yelling saying to get out which is honestly a scary experience as a girl. Bathrooms in clubs are safe spaces for women, and while the security explained that the policy was one person to a stall because he didn’t know if we were doing drugs or quote “having gay sex” (yes! he said that), it’s scary to have some guy banging on your stall and freaking out when you’re just trying to pee. when we got out he was stood waiting right outside and then he just wordlessly escorted us out saying there was a sign that said one person per stall and we should’ve seen it (no other club I’ve been to in Edinburgh does this). While I understand the policy and why it’s there, it’s seriously not okay to have a male bouncer dressed fully up in black with only his eyes visible just freaking out at women who are using the bathroom. I thought a gay club would be a safe place for women but this was the most uncomfortable I’ve felt in a while. also mind you I was sober when this happened, we weren’t “over intoxicated” as the owner keeps claiming everyone who complains is.

I went to scotland as a school trip, and this was one stop of our golden mile. Drinks were neither to expensive nor really cheap, just the average Edinburgh prices for coktails. The service was really nice and talkative, we teached the barkeeper some german. The ambiente was perfect, a really beautiful dark room with pink LEDs. The pub was quiet and quite empty.

Been here twice, once to go dancing after pride and once to grab some pub food and hang out and read and journal. Both were great experiences :)

Very unprepared people, the girl with short hair treating everyone bad, laughing and being sarcastic all time. Forced me to pay tip for her and because I refused she told me “this will be your last drink because I see that you’re not okay” I only got one beer and was perfectly fine. When I came back and gave her 4£ extra she didn’t say a word. I don’t recommend this place. Sure you got plenty more options of places with better customer service and people who really makes you feel welcome and safe.

CC Blooms is a letdown when it comes to service quality. My experience there was extremely disappointing. Upon arrival, I was greeted with indifference by the staff, who seemed more interested in chatting amongst themselves than attending to customers.The service was incredibly slow, taking an eternity to get any order through. Moreover, the lack of attention to detail was evident - wrong drinks and even forgotten orders were common during my visit.The cleanliness of the venue also left much to be desired. Dirty tables, poorly maintained bathrooms, and an overall atmosphere of neglect contributed to an unpleasant experience.I wouldn't recommend CC Blooms to anyone seeking quality service and an enjoyable night out. This establishment seriously lacks acceptable standards of customer service and venue upkeep.

Was told to go to a table and someone would come over and serve us. They never did. Really poor.

Came in here and stood at the bar and looked at the menu to be told rudely they do table service and to find a seat/table. We waited and waited and nobody came near even though 3 staff members were behind the bar chatting away. We got up and left whilst another staff member had the time to smoke at the door. Can’t wait to come back!!

Was looking forward to a night out but got denied at the door because I had an Irish agecard! 23 years of age and not let in cause they don’t accept Irish age cards, would recommend bring a passport or Irish licence if come to this nightclub in the future!

Found myself looking for a drink and rolled in on a Thursday night. The place was surprisingly busy and our incredible bartender Hannah juggled not just everyone at the bar but also helping folks that were seated. She was so attentive, thoughtful, and dynamic essentially seems like she was running the place herself! Her kindness brought me bad Friday night and the bar was fantastic! Great music, lots of dancing, very comfortable and professional staff across the board. Absolutely worth a visit to meet new folks or enjoy a safe environment. Will be coming back.

Great place, was in last night and Friday and absolutely loved it. Jacob one of my servers last night was very friendly and welcoming. The vibe was on point. Door staff were also super friendly. Will definitely be coming back next time in Edinburgh

Good: Awesome and super friendly bar staff, free and hilarious shows. Bad: a racist girl and homophobic girls. (Not the bar's fault). I read the reviews and I was a bit hesitant to go. As I walked in, the waiter smiled right at me and welcomed me to the establishment, he was super friendly and nice, I ordered a drink and some food. Everything was super good. I decided to stay for a free show. It was hilarious, clever, very sexy and entertaining, I laughed so much. So the aspects that the bar can control are really good: great service, good food and fun shows. Unfortunately, a girl that was quite drunk turns around (white blond girl if it's relevant, looks at me, opens her purse to check for something and tells me that she thought I had stolen her phone. I asked her why would she say something like that and she looks at me with her dead drunk eyes and tells me that I look dodgee. The bartender told me to just please ignore her. I heard on tv about this subtle racism in the UK and I was shocked. (I'm sorry for the people that endure it all the time). Then at the show everything was fun and giggles, we all were having a great time but then the show had a gay twist to it and a group of girls left right away, the birthday girl was not having it, she was bothered by a gay storyline in a gay bar! By the reviews of this and the other gay bars, there's quite some racism and also some issues with straight girls coming into our safe space and not respecting us. This is not the bar's fault but seems like a bigger issue in Edinburgh. I give the bar 4 stars though, they were very nice to me in every single interaction, I just wish the bartender would've stood up to the racist girl. Koodos for having the funny and clever shows (and for free).

Un lugar con buena música aparte que los dos ambientes tienen música muy buena y variada. Puede uno cambiar de escenario y permanecer un tiempo para que cuando desees cambiar solo tienes que moverte. Hay barras para pedir bebidas en ambos puntos así que eso hace más fácil el pedir una bebida. Los de seguridad a Hay unos de muy buena actitud pero otros no tanto así que sería lo único que deberían mejorar ya que al final quienes pagan son los que recibimos sus tratos

Nice friendly staff. Bit dated and not many patrons when we were there.

Food was good. Staff was friendly, however seeing as we aren't locals we sat there for an awkward amount of time before being told that it was bar service only (Staff noticed us looking at them multiple times looking for service while they were chatting together). Recommendations would be to have signage that states this or have staff inform patrons sooner as we almost walked out thinking we were being ignored. Recommend the Caesar Salad and Nachos!

I have been in and out of CCs since the 90s. Went to some very kitch Halloween parties and karaoke nights in the 90s, drunken dancing in the 2000/10s but not been in in a while. Lovely bar server brought me my drink: was quick, pleasant and friendly. Nice atmosphere ona sunny Saturday afternoon. Will be back soon.

Used to be such a regular at CC blooms but honestly the place has gone so downhill over the past year. Firstly I don't know if you have changed the company you use to hire your bouncers recently but the quality has gone downhill massively. Male bouncers regularly making gross comments towards female patrons and lewd jokes which would be completely unacceptable in any other environment. Secondly the man who does your cloak room has to have the worst attitude I have ever seen in a club. He is completely rude to everyone and always rolling his eyes if anyone has the audacity to ask to put their jacket in. Usually gave this the benefit of the doubt that I was slightly tipsy and maybe being sensitive but very much confirmed yesterday when I entered the club bone dry sober. Showed my Mile high club card in 3 different formats and he told me it wasn't on my apple wallet so wasn't accepting it. SPOILERS I have an android so of course it wasn't. Kept being told "I don't care, I don't care just pay". Your only saving grace is your bar staff who are generally so friendly and looking out for patrons on a regular basis. One example was a couple of months ago when I had unknowingly been spiked in either Planet or CCs and your staff noticed I wasn't okay. Cut me off from alcohol and provided me with plenty of water. Extremely thankful for this incident and only reason I'm giving more than 1 star. Changes need to happen seriously soon as almost every LGBTQIA+ person I know is getting sick of the place and moving elsewhere. Hive is becoming a friendlier option!

Two stars is all I can give. I’ve only been twice (between the hours of 6 and 10 pm). The bar staff isn’t that friendly. Cards only, and tipping is certainly pointed out to you when paying on the device. The security is over the top. We happened to have a water bottle (sealed and unintentional) in our backpack and we’re made to dispose of it before we entered. We were there for drinks… rather silly. Last Friday night there were more people there than my first visit… but no one socialized. A very unsocial crowd. I have no plans to return.

My partner and friends had a really bad experience from this place on Saturday, we were in the downstairs bar, put the jackets on a stool, the bar was empty, and the female barman complained with the security, and we were asked to leave the place, just because our jackets were in a bar stool. They never were no reasonable, we could understand and remove the jackets and the stool, if the place were busy, but it wasn’t. Obviously, security no gay friendly, we tried to explain, he never wanted to listen to us. and the place is not a gay destination bar( club) as they said. Very disappointed with this experience. I had to edit this message as I cannot reply to the owner, we never had the opportunity to explain as the security never allowed us to do so. And the owner have said we were aggressive? Aggressive the security on the door that doesn’t have no manners how to treat clients. Is a petty, that this bar are loosing so much lgbt customers.

Nice vibe and great setup. Friendly bar keeps. Good beer options. Unfortunately that’s possibly the worst burger of the decade. Completely bland, over cooked, stale dry nothingness inside a raw oversized bun. Food looks good, but it’s not. Just go for drinks. Skip the “food”

Was here for a night out with friends for the 10th birthday party of The Church of High Kicks, was having a brilliant night and so much fun. The bar staff were great all night however one younger male one has probably the worst attitude ever seen, when ordered drinks had barely finished and he shouted ‘PLEASE’ at me with a total scowl on his face, had ordered a few drinks and he brought a couple over, thinking he might have missed a couple I mentioned them to which he shouted ‘I ONLY HAVE ONE PAIR OF HANDS’ Can’t believe he was speaking to a paying customer like that, really needs to think about whether he wants to work in hospitality Ruined what was otherwise a good experience

Doormen were rude, unpleasant & really let this place down. We left after one drink, as would rather spend time & money somewhere our group were treated with dignity & respect. Would not recommend.

We were in Edinburgh as a group of six; mixed ages and sexuality. We went here to check out the gay scene and have a boogie. I really liked the club itself; the decor and atmosphere were great. The drinks were mostly ok but their soda machine thingy broke and the fizzy mixers were an issue. We had bottled mixers instead so easy fixed, although we were give gin and soda instead of tonic in one round. They changed them quickly though so no real bother. We danced to some fun music and met some great people. I heard some girls doing coke in the toilet (from the toilet seat I saw when I used the loo after them) but i guess this is the norm these days no matter how much searching bags etc you do in the doors. I felt a bit awkward about it but hey - each to their own. I’m a bit older than the typical clientele here and although there was a mix I’d say the average age is around 20. I would have adored this place in my 20’s!! All in all a good night but deffo one for the younger generation (as all clubs are I guess!!) 😉😉

Extremely rude and racist doorman. We visit Edinburgh with my partner and try to get in and doorman was extremely rude like he doesn’t want any customers. He ask for covid pass and when we said we don’t have he said that he needs to follow the rules. The. We went to next door bar and no one ask for anything and we had an amazing night.

Drinks were good and bar staff were great but the door staff were incredibly rude and obnoxious. They did not possess any customer service skills and should really work on their communication skills. Would not recommend a visit to CC Blooms after our experience last night.

Well I decided to go for one drink and was refused entry and asked how long I’d been out by the door staff. I informed the door staff I’d just come out the now and hadn’t had a drink. I’m a former staff member from years ago and have noticed a massive change. This would have been my first night out in 2 years and I only wanted two drinks at the most. I attended smart and sober. I simply said that’s really weird like and just walked away. I will be calling the bar tomorrow to ask how this can be dealt with in the future as I felt there was no solution or point arguing. I did try to contact the bar by telephone however no answer or no voicemail could be left. I’ll definitely wouldn’t recommend going in sober as you’ll be rejected! Point of exercise of going out was to phase back in to going out again due to covid restrictions. I asked if there was a queue to form as I didn’t know the procedures to follow and there was also people standing at the door to the right hand side which I wasnt sure if that was the queue to stand to maybe track and trace etc. I’ll be sure to call tomorrow to report this. The attitude from the door staff was bizarre. Shame as it’s really money lost due to the bouncers dislike for me it seemed.

Fab place. Lovely friendly staff. The safe way they are currently operating after the pandemic is admirable. I work in a bar myself and I know how hard it is running table service for every customer but the staff were efficient and full of banter. Me and my friend came in last night and after a few to many bottles of Prosecco sang all the way home. Keep it up guys you’re doing great!

My overall expectations and experience of this place over the years has deteriorated, just like the standards and experience you have when you go in there. Nothing welcoming, grumpy staff, and obviously arrogant owners which you can certainly tell by the not so positive or constructive responses they have made from the negative reviews. Within the Edinburgh Gay community they certainly don’t support and welcome us as their local customers. It’s a Pity they every took over CC’s.

Came here for drinks last night 13.02.20, the barmaid with pink hair was very grumpy and rude to us. Absolutely not a welcoming feel and not very friendly, such a shame for a nice Venue.

So I came to Edinburgh on my own found my way to Cc’s And was welcomed with open arms absolutely delightful staff with a special shout out to Jacob and Karen due to their amazing hospitality and beautiful faces Have enjoyed the food in here for 2 days now and wouldn’t think of going anywhere else definitely hats off to the chef If you don’t come here have you really done Edinburgh ?!

Went here for a drink, got a pint of lager and my wife asked for a G&T, and said to the barman and a smile, he told us if we want a smile to go somewhere else, so we walked out, thank god i never held money over,

Fui aquí antes de visitar el Playhouse para algo de comer. el personal es muy amable y la decoración peculiar. La comida era muy buena, pero un par de cosas menores me hicieron darle una calificación promedio. En primer lugar, no se ofrecen papas fritas (papas fritas) con las comidas solo papas rizadas (Yuch) o papas en trozos. Pedí la hamburguesa Edin y fue lo suficientemente agradable, sin embargo vino con salsa Haggis y Pepper y esto fue un problema. La salsa de pimienta se convirtió en la carne picada de Haggis y se habría servido mucho mejor en un plato de acompañamiento. Aparte de eso un lugar de O. K. Me gustaría volver a entrar si estuviera en la zona.

Just wanted somewhere nice for pre show drinks. This bar looked ok from the outside but is overpriced and nowhere near as good as it thinks it is. My wifes drink came in a chipped glass with no garnish. The newspaper menus are just confusing so they would be better to just have ordinary cards

Apareció para un bocado rápido antes de un espectáculo. El menú viene en un formato muy original: el de un periódico con menú y bebidas junto con mucha otra información. El pedido fue colocado en el bar donde también pagas. La comida fue entregada rápidamente nuevamente de una manera muy original. Aparte de la música muy alta un buen lugar para comer.

Reservamos aquí para el almuerzo y bebidas antes del teatro. Al llegar no encontré una mesa, pero juntaron las mesas, y luego dijeron que la comida duraría una hora, ¡y solo 5 minutos después se le dijo que la cocina estaba cerrada! El lugar no estaba muy ocupado, no hay explicación de por qué! Nos dijeron que nos darían un descuento en la factura de bebidas, 2. 03, 10% de la factura! Muy decepcionado con el servicio, entender si estaba ocupado. Volveré a visitar, probablemente no, muchos otros lugares felices por la costumbre.

We have passed this place many times, but always en route to somewhere else to eat. However, I am so glad we stopped in. We just wanted a light, quick bite, before heading to Murrayfield, and thought we would give it a try.

It ain't grand. It is a Pub. But the staff were engaging and focused. The drinks were atractive.There were enough nooks and crannies to have a quiet chat. We enjoyed our hour or so here.

We arrived early for our show at the Playhouse next door, so popped in here for a drink & snack. The staff were helpful, there was free wifi & a good atmosphere. We really liked it.

Nos detuvimos por conveniencia cuando estuvimos en un hotel cercano. Nuestro servidor fue genial y muy entretenido. Nos registramos para obtener una tarjeta de fidelidad y obtuvimos un descuento en nuestra comida y bebida. Tuve una ensalada César que era de un tamaño decente y era como se esperaba. Todos los camareros parecían muy atentos y divertidos. Probablemente un lugar de moda hasta tarde en la noche, pero no pudimos quedarnos ya que teníamos una gira para seguir.

Un toque del destino nos trajo a C. C's y nos lo pasamos. La comida es buenísima, gran bromas y excelente selección de refrescos. El personal no podía hacer lo suficiente para que nuestra visita sea agradable y todo el mundo a la izquierda con una sonrisa en su cara.

We went here for dinner only because it was super close to the Glasshouse hotel where we were staying and it was super crappy weather and my wife did not want to walk around exploring to look for something else. In fact, I made a deal with here that we could stop at the first place we came to that she picked. This place was 2 doors down from the hotel. :) We were there for the pre-show time period (which applies even if there is no show going on at the venue next door. The music was hop and clubby. We both opted for the 2-course menu option which provided a few different options. Neither of us was disappointed with the food that was delivered. It was quickly prepared and fresh and healthy portions.

I have been to CC Blooms on a number of ocassions each time i visit Edinburgh and enjoy the atmosfear. Food very good and reasonable priced along with drinks. Went with friend this week and we tried cocktails and gin and all very good. Staff efficient and friendly. Certainly recommend a visit when your in the city.

Ir a matinee en Playhouse con no mucho tiempo antes de la actuación empezó, entramos y les expliqué que necesitábamos algo de comer, pero sirve realmente rápido.

Posiblemente nuestra culpa por elegir tipo incorrecto de lugar, tenía dos tías ancianas para mostrar comprobar el almuerzo.

The barwoman was very friendly and great to chat to, the beer was great and the food was lovely. I got the Bloom Burger with no onions extra cheddar which came perfectly and I got little ramekins of ketchup and mayo too and also of the seasoning for wedges. Everything was perfect could not fault it at all. Also students get 20% off food and drinks which makes a substantial difference!!

As recommended by the hotel, we stopped here for lunch and were not disappointed. We had two Scottish specialty dishes which were interesting and very good.
