Called in, on the off chance as The Haven was the nearest pub to where we were staying, had to wait a short time before we could order food as a table with a booking had arrived just before us, food arrived and was all delicious, the ox cheeks were supberb, and couldn't fault it or the friendly service. Will definitely be back if ever in the area again.

We were so disappointed that this once fantastic ice cream shop has now changed to ‘Mr Whippy’!! No flavour selection unless you chose the tubs mentioned in the previous review. My niece chose an Oreo milkshake which was OK at best and extremely overpriced at £6! Will not be back!

Went for a toastie with a friend. I couldn't believe that we received 2 slices of the cheapest nastiest supermarket white sliced bread and cheap cheese, and just that! No salad, not even a scrap of lettuce, and the coffee cups are half the size of anywhere else. It's obvious they keep going as they have a captive audience of holiday makers in the summer, and golfers nearby.

What a fabulous wee find. Popped in for a bite to eat. We had the soup and a sandwich deal. Sandwich was loaded with lovely chicken breast meat bursting out from the slices of bread and the soup was like your Granny’s homemade lentil, brilliant and delicious. The cakes looked amazing as well. Maybe next time. Lovely staff. Lovely peaceful atmosphere. A fantastic experience and very reasonably priced. We will be back. Don’t know why we didn’t try this place before given that we’re locals. Lol It’s a credit to the Owners.

Bonito lugar, agradable sorpresa

My wife and I stayed for a week in April. We have holidayed in Crail for many years from Cumbria, used the Golf Hotel for meals and drinks in the past, which we found it to be brilliant, using the beer garden on many occasions after long coastal walks. But this was the first time staying there. We can only wish we had stayed before. The room was comfortable and had everything we needed. Water, coffee, tea and biscuits were topped up each morning. A quiet night’s sleep even it’s a public house and on Crail Main Street. We can honestly say the friendly staff made it for us. Always a smile and so helpful. Evening meals are cooked to perfect and a great choice, and snacks too, but the breakfasts were unbelievable. We don’t like to single anyone out, but Jackie, how you cater for everyone was beyond us. Your breakfast was a delight! Everything was cooked perfectly, no matter if you wanted, fried, poached, boiled. Pancakes were a delicious addition to breakfast. We needed nothing to eat all day!! There’s a quiet guest lounge and the bar is stocked with local beers and has a great atmosphere. We will be back…and we are, booked again for later in the year!! 5 star treatment…but my wife and I will give the Golf Hotel 6!!

We had never been to Pittenweem and our accommodation was three doors from this wonderful Tavern. From the first night Alan , the owner and his lovely wife, Leslie were so attentive and friendly . We were cautious due to my wife, neing a coeliac but Alan produced some amazing gluten free meals, including fish and chips with gluten free battered onion rings. I must say that the helpings size were on the large size nit so tasty. We tried different meals each night and every one of them was as tasty as the first one. . I would highly recommend this tavern, but it is more than a tavern. Ambiance is pleasant and seeing locals in there was great . A very enjoyable time. Thank you.

I visited on a pretty quiet Saturday. The fish & chips was cooked freshly for me, therefore was advised by the gentleman of a 10 minute wait. Chatted to the gentleman whilst waiting who was very friendly & had good chat. Took my fish and chips back to the car as it was a miserable day. Lovely, light crispy batter and fresh flaky white fish. Chips were ok, nothing special but nothing to rave about. Just chips! Overall it was tasty and I’d definitely return.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat whilst walking the coastal path from Shell Bay. Was good to find this cosy and warm pub on what was a miserable day weather wise. The staff were welcoming and friendly, and the soup and toasties were really tasty. Toilets were clean.
