Popped up in for soup and a sandwich after a trip to St Cyrus beach. Wish we'd discovered this gem sooner! Love the old railway and the cafe itself is full of character. Loved the warm welcome, friendly quick service, good food and wander around the station afterwards. Thank you!

Best hospital café in Scotland, home made soups and puddings are excellent, staff are very welcoming and professional, makes the experience of going for appointments a little more bearable.

Another must visit on our annual visit to Kirriemuir. It’s in a lovely location, easily accessible, and very nice interior. On Sunny days the garden is a lovely place to have a nice cold drink. Fortunately it was sunny the day we were there so a few drinks were enjoyed. We didn’t eat there this time but we have previously . The food is lovely, very well cooked and presented. It’s not the cheapest food, but worth it, particularly on a special occasion.

Found this lovely cafe/gift shop in Edzell. Delicious cakes, nice coffee and friendly service. The wider menu looked interesting and all of the food observed appeared appetising. Some really nice gifts on sale too. Recommended.

Excellent lounge bar which apart from having some unusual beers/Cider also offers an excellent food menu. The food is really good, and both the Steak pie and haddock are highly recommended.

The food was excellent I couldn’t fault it one bit but what really stood out to me was the staff. Our waiter, Brandon I believe his name is, was the nicest and most down to earth human I’ve ever met. He looked after us so well and deserves all the love in the world. Please visit this great establishment just to get to meet him.

We had a fantastic evening at The Caledonian. Brilliant service from the ladies. We were visiting for the weekend and can’t wait to visit again so we can enjoy the Caledonians fantastic food again. Haggis fritters to start were delicious, then the Haggis Chicken was just amazing. Someone else had the pork and black pudding for main and was not disappointed!

We stopped for lunch on the road north after a lengthy drive. We have been several times before and everything was fine but NEVER again!! Food was very poor quality and we will not return. I had fish and chips..the fish was over cooked and dry and the chips had obviously been sitting forever, they were like cardboard, chewy and horrible. My husband had macaroni and garlic bread, he declined the chips but his plate was served with chips on it. The cheese sauce had split and was tasteless and the garlic bread was so hard it was inedible. Just under £30 for 2 meals and 2 drinks was not cheap for a lunch that couldn’t be eaten! We were that exhausted and just wanted home so we left without complaining but we definitely will not be back.

Food looks lovely, but unfortunately it doesn't taste great. It's expensive and not value for money. The scones are dry, and the cakes are made to look bigger by the copious amount of cream piled on top.

The man serving constantly licks his fingers then uses his bare hands to touch the salad, cheese etc.

The manager is very unfriendly beats me how you get a job in customer service with this rude attitude. We decided not to wait until it was open in 10 minutes time.

Had an appointment at the next door Stracathro Hospital, which we arrived early for, so thought we'd kill some time and grab a coffee. What a dump, talk about a desolate looking place, it was like something out of a post apocalyptic movie, think 28 days later and you'd not be far wrong. Im guessing this place hasn't had a bit of furnature purchased or lick of paint applied this millenium. I'm so glad we only ordred coffee as after seeing the state of the toilets on the way out it would certainly put me off ever eating any food in the place even though the food pics in the other reviews look good. I found the toilets through smell rather than sight and it was very apparant why they absolutley stank of piss, i've seen better toilets at a 1980's football stadium than this place. Note in the pictures the wase pipe from the urine trough isn't even connected to a drain, it just runs onto a tile gully which is open to the room. Quite how Angus Council allows such standards at a place that serves food is baffling.
