We ate here as the place we had intended to eat at was closed. There was a specials menu ranging from expensive roast dinners to cajun wraps. Nothing suitable for vegetarians. I asked if they had anything veggie and was met with a blank stare. I opted for a scone (a whole scone for lunch) which was rock hard. The server swapped it for another one, which was less hard as it had been semi heated. The other diners had paninis which seemed to be OK. Disappointing visit however the server was probably the friendliest person you'll ever meet.

I'm afraid I was very disappointed with my visit to the restaurant today because of the poor staff experience. I had visited Beleek Pottery restaurant many years ago and had great memories of it. This time, while the food was nice enough, the service was terrible! Three examples - when I arrived there were several people ahead of me trying to alert staff that they were looking for service. I added my voice and someone finally came out removing their ear phones, which I assume was the reason they couldn't hear that people wanted service. I ordered a quiche and salad which was fresh and tasty enough, and a lemon meringue which was OK but obviously several days old with sodden pastry and soft meringue. I asked the waitress if I could wait to take my coffee until I had eaten the main course. When I came back for it, she handed me the same cup of coffee which had been sitting on the counter for at least 10 minutes! I asked for a hot cup which she got for me, but I was astounded that she didn't think to pour me a hot cup of coffee. Lastly, a large group of tourists came in while I was eating, probably from a bus tour and they were queuing up. I had noticed that the top tier of the restaurant was roped off, but despite the arrival of this large group, no one removed the ropes. I also noticed dirty dishes piled up at the hatch not being washed for some reason also. So I would say, these staff need to be trained. They were friendly enough when I spoke with them, but clearly hadn't a clue how to give good service to customers. Given that most of the customers are probably tourists, Beleek Pottery can do better than this in terms of staff training.

When phoning to book the reservation, I asked about a gluten free menu which I was told they have an extensive amount of gluten free options. When seated I asked for the GF menu and was given a vegetarian menu with no indications of GF options. I approached a waitress and asked for the gluten free menu and she told me I had it and slammed the menu on the table. It was clear the staff has no allergen awareness training as celiac is not the same as vegetarian and my child could become extremely ill which I had to tell the waitress myself. I repeated myself around 4 times and the waitress said “flip sake” with an attitude so another waitress had to step in to try and navigate the menu. I was told there was “GF” beside all the options but when the other waitress and myself looked there was none. The original waitress went into the kitchen and came out and told me anything could be made gluten free while again slamming menus on the table at me. I told her she needs to change her attitude with me where she then replied “ you need to change yours”. Completely disappointed and ruined my experience. She was short with short reddish/ brown hair and glasses. However the food was great.

The Upper Crust Restaurant is an exceptional restaurant , a hidden gem. sitting quietly on the Main Street in Larne. I've been visiting the town for some years and always make a point of calling in for a meal. The quality of the food is 100% , such as the Braised Steak dinner, with tender steak, mashed potatoes or champ and vegtables, Minced pie or Quiche made to perfection with fresh chips and also a Salad bar. The menu is large and varied with Burgers, Ulster fry, deserts etc to mention just a few. The staff are welcoming and friendly and with 60's sounds in the background this is an oasis of good vibes, treat yourself to a visit, you won't be disappointed.

I have no words to describe this facility! Food tasted store bought (promised to be home cooked), I was going to book myself, my husband and my three children (all under 10 years old) for Christmas dinner but was shocked to find the price being £55 EACH for adults and £29 for children under 11. Me being a mother of three young children I know myself they all wouldn’t eat a lot so why is their price so shockingly large?! That is more less £200 on a carvery which will be located in a small, out dated, stuffy room room which looks like a 19th century’s school! The music is unbearably loud and it is always the same, it is old school country which I have even found that most of the older customers cannot stand. The staff is poor quality but I believe that many are under aged, the young girls are often seen running around like headless chickens with no help, once or twice I’ve heard management be rude and disrespectful also adding they provided the workers NO HELP! The food can be ok at some parts but like I’ve recently wrote, tastes very branded and not homemade. Once or twice the utensils I’ve seen have had old food stuck to the handles and water stained marks. Going into a restaurant which is meant to be ‘classy’ and ‘well took care of’ I hate to think that the cutlery isn’t being washed correctly. Serious need of inspection needed!

Arrived for coffee and cake, soaking wet with 5 other cyclists. Staff couldn’t have been more helpful. No problem with us sitting in their cafe, dripping wet and cold. Coffee and cake are great and then they were happy to mop up after us. Great experience !

Called in for a sandwich. Delicious. Made with fresh ingredients. It’s something simple so many places can’t seem to do right.

A brief visit for a coffee and apple pie, both of which were delicious. I've visited here on a number of occasions, usually for breakfast or lunch and always found the food and the staff to be excellent. Today was no exception. The apple pie was offered with cream or custard, hot or cold. The latte was first class as was the service. Welcoming, polite and friendly. Thank you.

Made to feel very welcome, good choice of hot or cold food. A friend had the soup of the day and we chose a scone and jam. The scones were soft and creamy to the taste. Our coffees were a good tasty version. The owner of the cafe was both warm and welcoming. Making sure we were happy. He gave us a brief history of the area and surrounding places of interest. I would recommend this eatery without any hesitation.

We were seated at 3.20 PM and gave our order almost immediately which was for one sandwich and 2 cups of soup. The waitress took our order and 2more tables at the same time. Both of the other tables were served their lunch and we were still waiting. This was 3.50pm . We then observed 3more tables being occupied and served and we were still waiting. My husband went to the counter to check how much longer we had to wait for our order of 1 sandwich and 2 cups of soup. He waited for almost 5 minutes before speaking with a counter assistant who said it would be a few minutes. At this time my husband noticed our 2 cups of soup sitting on the counter and going cold. At this point I told my husband we would have to leave as we had to meet up with family. The assistant offered no apology or anything. So our experience was not good

Visited here for two evening meals with my wife on Saturday and then back on the Sunday evening. I ordered the WV chicken burger and my wife had the beer battered cod. My meal was poor in that the chicken was tough and not that warm. My wife enjoyed her meal though, thankfully. No one came to ascertain how we were doing and how was our meal. Made mention of my disappointment to Kirsty, our server, when paying as I wasn't asked during my meal. Offered to call manager but I stated it was too late as my meal was already over. Went again on the Sunday evening to give them a second chance. Was served by a young chap called Ronan and ordered the beer battered cod, wife's suggestion, and she had a main course version of the ham hock croquettes and was well pleased with it. A different serving experience from young Ronan who called during and after each course. Well done to him, he restored my opinion and faith to what it had been previously when visiting here.

Nei dintorni del Sentiero dei Giganti questo albergo ristorante offre ottimo cibo tipico irlandese, un servizio corretto e cortese, ad un prezzo onesto.
