Upper Crust in Larne

The Upper Crust Restaurant is an exceptional restaurant , a hidden gem. sitting quietly on the Main Street in Larne. I've been visiting the town for some years and always make a point of calling in for a meal. The quality of the food is 100% , such as the Braised Steak dinner, with tender steak, mashed potatoes or champ and vegtables, Minced pie or Quiche made to perfection with fresh chips and also a Salad bar. The menu is large and varied with Burgers, Ulster fry, deserts etc to mention just a few. The staff are welcoming and friendly and with 60's sounds in the background this is an oasis of good vibes, treat yourself to a visit, you won't be disappointed.

Amazing self service cafe with great local wifeys helping behind long counter of gastronomic goodies - great local atmosphere, great character, great humour - a place to be recommended to all those of discerning gastronomic palates - BRILLIANT!

Good food always makes those holiday periods the best and most look forward too days of the year. Start of the Easter holidays and with the good weather I always find myself pining for fish & chips, so we headed for the local cafe and I ordered up some fresh scampi and chips with a side salad and tartar sauce. And all I can say is it satisfied my hunger and that's exactly why you go places like The Upper Crust. You know what you are going to get and it never disappoints.

Having travelled from Newtownards on Monday we called in as always for lunch. We located a table and I went up to order. We ordered the all day fry and the lasagne which came with salad and fries. Only problem was they only accept cash. So I had to go to my partner for the money. We were given a number to set on the table. A short time later a waitress brought our meal, and enquired did we need sauce etc. I asked for a top up of our coffees and she returned quickly and replenished our cups. The fry was excellent and not grease. The lasagne was very tasty. Service and food great as usual. Maybe that is why we return when we visit Larne

This is a little gem in the middle of the town of Larne. The restaurant is spotlessly clean. Food is well above average. Staff are so friendly and helpful. Thank you for a great experience - we will be back!!

One of my favourite places in Larne! I’ve been going here for years with my family and they never disappoint. Quality of food and the service is second to none and the large variety caters to all. Solutions put in place to ensure social distancing and customer safety were very sufficient and I can’t wait until yous are back open again, missing this place very much! I would definitely recommend to anyone in Larne or visiting! Best cafe in Larne.

The Upper Crust is my go-to cafe on Larne Main St every weekend without fail! An excellent menu with friendly and welcoming staff who are happy to let customers amend the contents of their meal and provide tea/coffee refills free of charge. Top service every time, would highly recommend.

Looking forward to my Saturday morning special fry or omelette before heading to the match once the lockdown is over. Tasty food and friendly staff in pleasant surroundings, smack centre on the Main Street. Nice to relax and watch the world go by with the added benefit of free wi-fi.

While travelling along the coast road yesterday, we stopped off in Larne for lunch and visited the upper crust cafe. The cafe was very nice, the lunch was lovely and the staff were very friendly . Will visit again. Would recommend.

Had lunch, average enough and was ok. Average coffee. Reasonable price I guess. Got quiche, which was fine. Fairly small salad on the side, small chip portion also. Doing everything safely with distancing, nice to see of course.

This well established business continues to be a favourite for many locals & visitors. Theres a decent choice on the menu which hasn't changed much over the years - probably because it works well enough, What has changed are portion sizes, with wider topped bowls tapering down to a narrow base effecting quite a substantial reduction in previous portions. The ever popular stews, curry etc., even chips are now served in these so that when they're emptied onto the plate its blatantly obvious you're getting a LOT less for your money. Trays are flimsy & downright dangerous if you're carrying much and the cutlery is as cheap as possible but functional which probably applies to pretty much everything here. Staff have always been pleasant & helpful and regularly carry food to tables. They do some of the best chips (and curry) around but its a real pity portion sizes have shrunk so remarkably bringing into question value for money.

Whist on a shopping trip to larne we called in for a light snack. It is done out like a cafeteria were you pick want you want. There is a menu on the wall as well. I also noticed pensioners deals too. We ordered soup...

Eat here regularly, clean surroundings and wholesome food, the stew is great. Expect to pay about £10 per head if you are having lunch, so it can mount up if there's a few of you. Free wifi which is a nice touch.
